[The theft had gone off without a hitch. Pewter's museum had been robbed blind and Mondo felt awful about it. Already there had been at least one post to the network about it, and he had decided not to follow the network any more for a couple of days. He doesn't want to think about it, and so he's simply going to avoid it. That's probably not the best way to deal with things, but he doesn't know how else to handle it. It's the same way he's been dealing with Fujisaki's death. He doesn't know how to handle it, so he just ignores it.

There is one thing that's come from talking with Fujisaki though: Mondo needs to get stronger. Fujisaki is already incredibly strong and looking to get stronger, and Mondo refuses to allow himself to be seen as weak. Those moments where he's slipped up and harmed his friends - those are moments of weakness. He refuses to let that happen again. His solution? Training non-stop with his Pokémon. He can really only fight with two of them, Ryder the Scrafty who is a bit on the short side but she doesn't take it easy on him, and Pierce the Lucario, who is more of an even match. At least he knows how to reign in his power, it seems like Ryder doesn't. Either that or she just likes beating her trainer senseless.

Mondo's been keeping an eye on Ishimaru ever since the heist. Ishimaru was pumped full of tranquilizers for his act and Mondo's been trying to look out for him ever since. Of course, he can't just sit in the room all day and hover around Ishimaru, so he finally left a couple of hours ago to get some fresh air and train a little.

And by "training a little" he means "beat the shit out of his Pokémon."

Pierce has long since been exhausted, so Mondo is currently fighting Ryder, who as usual, isn't taking it easy on him. Since Pierce evolved he's tried not to fight Ryder - there's definitely something wrong with her but he's not sure what it is; either way, she doesn't seem loyal to him at all and will take any opportunity she can get to disobey him outside of battle. Now would be the perfect chance for her to really screw him over, but the most she's done is throw him against a tree. Repeatedly. He's definitely going to have bruises forming, but he gets back to his feet and charges her again. She's much faster than he is, and she uses his momentum against him to throw him head over heels yet again.

At this rate he'll be lucky if he gets out of here without breaking something, but Mondo shows no signs of stopping either. He has to get stronger and this is the only way he knows how to do it. If he can defeat his Pokémon in battle, he'll be practically unstoppable. That's how he's going to increase his strength.

...This would work better if Ryder would at least go a bit easier on him.]

I'm not saying that to try to get you to leave the actual culprit alone; the person responsible was a girl.

[Mondo opens his mouth to say something, then promptly shuts it again. He doesn't think Ishimaru would lie to him, but this makes things a hell of a lot more difficult. What is he supposed to do to a girl? He could yell at her, sure, but what good would that do? A sound beating would get the message across a lot better - that message being don't fuck with his brother - but he would never hit a girl.]

...Who was it?

[He's not sure which of the girls would be strong enough to kill Ishimaru with a blow to the head.]

{He twitches a bit, shaking his head for a moment as though to clear it; he's clearly agitated, though he's not entirely sure what to do about it.]

...Celes-kun. Celes-kun was responsible for it.

C-Celes?

[Apparently she's stronger than she looks, then. Mondo's expression tightens immediately and he tries to come up with something to say. Of all people, why her? Why him?]

...Was it because of the next motive? Whatever the fuck that was?

[What could be worse than revealing their deepest, darkest secrets though?]

...I don't know. It might have been; it might have been something else entirely. You know how Celes-kun is.

[That motive is something else he suspects won't go over well.]

Y-Yeah, I guess you're right... It really could've been anything with that girl...

[He shrugs slightly. Celes is a hard one to pin down.]

Are you gonna be okay with bringing her here?

[He tenses sharply at that; he doesn't seem to realize that his voice is rising.]

Why wouldn't I?! She doesn't deserve to be there, either - and besides, she's been punished for what she's done!!

...But you're still mad at her for it, aren't you? Or at least upset about it. You don't need to lie to me, kyoudai.

[He reaches up to touch Ishimaru's shoulder again, gently.]

I know you're trying to be impartial and all that shit, but you can talk to me about this sorta shit.

...I'm not angry with her for what she did to me, I'm angry that she did it at all. I wanted to think she was better than that; if anyone was going to survive, I would have thought it would be her.

That doesn't mean I think she deserves to stay back in that world, especially if we bring the others here. It isn't right to trap her like that.

I agree, but that doesn't necessarily mean she has to stick around with us, y'know? There's plenty for her to do here, like fucking gamble. She can stay in Goldenrod and we can leave her there, if you'd like. She wouldn't be stuck back home, but there's no reason to think that we have to all stick together, y'know?

No. We need to look out for each other here, kyoudai - we'll take care of our own, and that includes her!

[He can feel himself getting riled, though again, he doesn't seem to know what to do with it; he doesn't even know why he's getting so upset. It's not as though he has any reason to doubt what he's saying, after all...]

[But if Fujisaki can forgive him for what he did, maybe Ishimaru can at least look past what Celes did.]

Besides, we won't know what she thinks about all of it until we can ask her ourselves. We owe her that much.

We don't owe her anything. She killed you!

[But he does understand, to some extent.]

...Yes, but that's beside the point - she was in the same situation as everyone else, and you know what that was like! She wouldn't have done it otherwise, I'm sure of it!

[Mondo winces. He does know what it was like; he knows better than anyone what Celes went through, doesn't he? Well, maybe Kuwata would know better, since he didn't black out before killing Maizono.]

...yeah, I guess you're right. I just... I can't get over the fact that she killed you! I mean, I doubt you can get over it either but...!

[He groans. There's no real way to properly express just how upset this whole thing makes him.]

[Ishimaru reaches out then, laying a hand on Mondo's shoulder and...trying not to press down on the bruising, good lord.]

[Thank you for that, kyoudai...]

I just... shit, I thought you'd make it out. I never would've pegged Celes as a killer either. I mean, yeah, she's intimidating, but that doesn't mean she'd kill, right?

[Or maybe he's just projecting on to her...]
