Who: Dist (
ortion) and Denzel Crocker (
crackpotcrocker)
Where: Ilex Forest
When: late evening on August 3rd, after stealing the revival machine and escaping
Summary: After making their getaway, Dist and Crocker land in a thick part of Ilex Forest to assess the damaged revival machine before they attempt to return it to the Goldenrod Rocket base.
Rating: PG
Log:
[It's been a couple hours since the fiasco at the Goldenrod Pokemon Center. As the pair continue to fly on top of Dist's enormous Golurk, the flat lands of Route 34 turn into a sea of trees. They've finally made it to Ilex Forest, but the hardest part of their mission is only about to begin.
Sure, it's great that they did manage to steal the revival machine, but in their haste they had to basically rip it out of the wall instead of removing it properly. There's no telling how much damage the machine took and they won't find out until they land. The uncertainty is gnawing away at Dist pretty badly. This is his first big mission in about a year, and he's already fudged it up. He's just praying they can fix this thing before bringing it back to the base.
As they make it further into the forest, Dist, who has been silent for the majority of the flight mostly out of anger and frustration, finally speaks up.]
We should be able to land any minute now.
[He's giving Crocker a stern glance from Kaiser Dist G's other shoulder. He doesn't have much faith the other man at the moment, so Crocker's going to have to really prove himself to Dist when they get to work.]

How did this happen? How did they know we where there? See what happens when you don't hack the security cameras first!.. Perhaps, we should had all just gone through the front door.
[In a success / fail chart for Crocker, the man fails more than he's actually successful. However, this is almost better as this allows Crocker to not make the same mistake again next time and find new creative ways to combat Timmy Turner. Though in his frustration with things going array in the Pokemon Center. One defiantly heard that. Growlithe also appears injured and Crocker holds the fire dog Pokemon close. After all, for that moment, that is all the man has. Growlithe whines softly in Crocker's arms. Peering over at the machine Crocker simply states]
I suppose if there’s anything good about this. We did manage to steal the machine. Although, now how to fix it out in the middle of nowhere, without tools.
[Crocker felt confident enough with his mechanical engineering that the reviving machine is fixable. As far as Dist went, Crocker couldn’t say the man was fond of Dist, than Crocker isn’t really fond of anyone but working towards a common goal is to tolerable.]
... Where are we?
[Besides a forest obviously.]

Fortunately for us, I always carry a spare set of tools. One can never know when they'll need them for situations such as this.
[It's a good thing he's conditioned himself to be prepared for emergency fixes. He can't even count the amount of times he's had to fix his battle robots on the fly.]
As for where we are... [He turns his gaze to the maze of trees below them.] This is Ilex Forest. I've only been here once or twice, but it's the best place for us to hide ourselves for the time being.

Show off. [Stating that like he would to an over achieving suck up student. Which is distasteful as Crocker hates students who suck up to him.]
... [There's a face of dread suddenly crossing the man's face.] I don't suppose this would be a good time to mention I've never been camping before.

It's not so much showing off as it is being conditioned for my job. It is expected of someone who works on machines for a living to be prepared. Honestly, you should be thankful for this Crocker, because it may save our hides.
[Sure, Dist's going to have it bad if they come back with a busted machine, but it'll probably be worse for Crocker since he's a newbie. Talk about giving the executives a bad first impression.
While Dist wants to give Crocker a judgmental glance for the camping comment, he doesn't because it's not like he camps all that much himself. And since they don't have any actual camping equipment, it's going to be a pain in the ass to attempt it. They don't have a choice, though.]
We'll have to make do somehow. And if it's the wild animals you're worried about, my Pokemon are all well above the average level of wild Pokemon here. We have nothing to fear.
no subject
Why what’s the worse they can do to us?
[Can’t get any worse than it already is, right? Right? Yeah, Crocker wasn't going to be hopefully. As the man makes a ah crap face. Wild animals hadn't even dawned on the man, frankly he's more concern as his face looks down at his own Pokemon who have already taken a beating due to their low levels, if they where going to make it... Tch, it was bad enough Denzel has to rely on someone, someone he's not very fond of but than, Crocker hasn't found anyone in this world either the man wants to be bothered with.]
Wild Pokemon? [Just when the man thinks he's found out what he could about this strange new world, another curveball.]

[Dist says that with a serious tone, though only because he wants to freak Crocker out more than anything. He figures the executives won't do anything too bad except scold them, though he has heard stories of them getting pretty ruthless. In the end though, he just wants to look good for the execs and get a promotion so he's not going to slack during this crucial moment.
He stares in Crocker's direction when he asks about wild Pokemon.]
What, you haven't battled any before? They're everywhere, even within Goldenrod itself. They will most likely attempt to attack us, but as I said, my Pokemon have a much higher level than the ones in Ilex Forest. They won't be a threat at all.
no subject
Well, yes in the base. [Than a lightbulb goes on.] And that swarm of live rocks that was becoming impossible to outrun... [Referring to the Kabutos] I suppose those where wild Pokemon...
[Denzel pulls his mouth stern fashion before a beat and the man body twitches.] THANK YOU!
[Crocker didn't like saying but that was the bottom line here. There's a pause.]
What about Geraldine?
[Denzel looks down at Growlithe who growls softly and her fur looks ruffled and burned from the Pokemon Center escape.]
no subject
He also glances over to the Growlithe.]
That depends. What level is she? The average level of wild Pokemon in Ilex Forest is twelve to twenty.

[Crocker noses around the forest with his eyes, very slowly. Almost like he senses something that isn't there and he couldn't help but there was a force of something. A magical force. Like those fairies from home...]
Is it known for fairies to occupy these woods?
[Celebi is causing all of Crocker's intrusiveness to go off, not that they'll never see Celebi.]
no subject
[It's not often that Dist gets to make himself sound cooler than he is, so he put his best stoic voice into that line.
It's around now that Dist decides to have Kaiser Dist G land. It's a densely wooded area so they have to brace themselves as they land through the trees. When they land, Dist answers the question about fairies.]
It is said that a Pokemon named Celebi inhabits the woods, near a shrine on the Goldenrod side of the forest. It is a type of fairy, yes. But I wouldn't go expecting it to be one of those fairies that you are strangely obsessed with.
no subject
That would be a good idea. [His tone having a bit of a whimper in it. Crocker exclaims a 'Gah' as they land from the suddenness.]
Ah ha! I knew something was here. [Even if Celebi isn't the kind of fairy that Crocker does go after usually, his compulsion just for the fact that it is a fairy makes him twitch and mumble to himself.] And if this Celebi is a Pokemon, it must be just as powerful as the rest of these. [Before giving a mmm vocal noise in an evil kind of way. Power after all was always tempting to the man.]
That's besides the point it's a different kind of - FAIRY! [Jerking his body in a strange fashion falls to the ground at least he lands on grass. Growlithe and Ekans look over wondering if there master is alright.]
I'm alright. Ow.
no subject
You really ought to get that checked, you know. [...] Actually, don't. Perhaps one day you'll hit your head hard enough to forget about your idiotic fairy obsession.
[He then commands his Golurk to give him a lift to the ground with its massive hand. Much less painful than falling off, that's for sure. Once on the ground, he recalls Kaiser Dist G and sends out a smaller Pokemon to keep guard, though this Pokemon is still taller than both of the men. It's a huge insect-like Pokemon with a red metallic exoskeleton and huge pincers that almost look like heads. Dist smiles at the Pokemon.]
Gale, be a good girl and keep watch, will you?
[Gale nods and zips off, gliding on the ground using her wings for speed.
With that said and done, he turns to face Crocker, his frown returning just from having to look at the man.]
I wouldn't get your hopes up about Celebi. It hasn't been seen by humans in years. Instead, we must focus on saving this machine.
no subject
IT IS NOT IDITOTIC AND I WILL NEVER GIVE IT UP - EVER!
[Considering that Crocker was ten his obession first started and now he's forty - five. Denzel, Ekans and Growlithe watch Golurk glide off. That is very impressive.]
Oh? Why hasn't Celebi been seen by humans in years?
Yes, yes. The machine. [It wasn't that Crocker is against building machines quite the opposite it was just Dist and working with one of those scientists.]
