Healing Process
Who: Sayaka Miki & Madoka Kaname
Where: Cerulean City
When: Backdated to September 3rd
Summary: It's been weeks since her sudden disappearance, and now Sayaka and Madoka must move on without Mami
Rating: G-PG
Log:
Like all the others, it had happened suddenly and without warning. Mami had just vanished, without a trace of her ever being there except for her Pokemon. Sayaka had refused to believe it, and had spent some time looking all around Cerelean, the route before reaching the city and even the one beyond.
That had only confirmed her suspicions, and left her feeling confused and shattered. She'd lost a few people that she knew sometime ago, but this was different. It hadn't been someone she knew from home.
Now, she made her way back to the hotel room she shared with Madoka. They had things to discuss, and she had to start taking her role more seriously.
"...Madoka?"

"...Madoka?"

She was drawing once again when Sayaka arrived, though her hand and pen stopped as soon as the door opened. Madoka looked up with a smile.
"...Sayaka?" What was this? Was something wrong? Madoka wasn't sure what else to say right now, but she had been thinking a lot.

Ooh, another drawing! Definitely something to ask her about later...
"Ha, just wanted to see how you were doing. And, I kinda wanted your opinion on something."

"I'm okay. Really. How are you doing?" It was weird how this whole Mami-san leaving made her think that her time here was kind of just extra time in the same world with them. "Hee, my opinion on what?"

"...I'm doing fine. Mami-san was my mentor, but as long as we take it a day at a time I'm sure we'll get through this." She nodded, petting Madoka's hair for a while before grinning. She was starting to feel better already. "Heh, what we're gonna do. You're still a trainer, and we'll have to come back through Cerulean eventually...but you still need the badge from Pewter."

Madoka let out a tiny, relieved giggle. "Of course we'll get through. We can get through anything." Lies, in her timeline anyway, but it didn't matter here. She'd make sure they'd get through anything here. Yes, what were they going to do now and where were they going to go from here was a good question. Madoka let go of the hug with an apologetic smile and started tapping her fingers together. "Well, that's true. ...And, ummm, you know how I've been avoiding the gym battles until now, but - ummm - I think I'd be ready by the time we get to Pewter, if my team is ready too." She was going to have to triple-check what worked against Brock's team. "I was thinking of challenging Misty first, but I think -- um, I think Pewter might be a better place to start."

"Ha, I'll help you out! Yeah, I've been trying to see if I can find any trace of Mami-san but at the same time I made sure to train my team too; I'll be able to protect you from anything that tries to hurt you, Madoka..." Ignore the blush on her face; you don't see it! "From how Mami-san explained it to me when we met up, your best bet against Misty's Pokemon are Electric and Grass-types. For Brock, Water-types are a #1 guaranteed win. Or a few Flying types who know Mud Slap. I think that's what it's called."
