Given how magic is treated in your world, it's not terribly surprising. That would shake things up beyond belief in my world, where magical secrets are tied to families and not matters of national secrecy.

I'd believe it. Honestly, probably better that your world doesn't have it. It's not a curse I would've chosen to be born with, that's for sure.
