[Even with the power blazing through him, Shaun doesn't know what to do with it. He's too small to be helpful. He notices the man coming toward him, but when the hand is laid on his shoulder, for once he understands. There's no screaming, no crying, no kicking. In this one instance, he knows that Blake is trying to help him.

He looks up at the man when Blake speaks, the glow all but blinding with the added force of Blake's...whatever he's doing. Whatever it is, it focuses Shaun's power. It bolsters his courage. It gives him a purpose.

He nods, and there's something of Ethan in the determined look on his face.]

I will.

[And then he zips off like the Flash.]

[It reminds him of something, the look on the kid's face. It takes him a minute to place it. It clicks just as Shaun's flying off.]

[Add a couple decades. Make the light ugly fluorescents instead of a supernatural glow. Add a beard.]

[That's a look he's gotten from a guy in handcuffs, all right.]

[Blake bends over, hands on his knees, and tries to catch his breath. God, he's tired.]

[But for one, he's pretty sure he did something right.]
