Well, Pokémon have levels. Ayani's probably level five if you haven't trained at all. The maximum level is 100; when you get there your Pokémon won't get any stronger, but it'll be one of the strongest creatures in the region! I've got a few at that level, but like I said, I've been here since April, so I've had plenty of time to train.

Levels are basically a way to gauge just how powerful an enemy Pokémon is. So... let's say Ayani's level five and is going up against something that's level fifteen. That enemy Pokémon would probably be too powerful for Ayani to beat. That's why you've gotta train and raise Ayani's level, so you can take on anything!
