On the road again

Summary: France, Envy, and Katara are on their way to drop off some stolen birds and retrieve a country in time for Christmas.

Lets get the introductions rolling...

[He anxiously paced outside the inn with Marija tagging along at his heels. While the rest of his Pokémon were safely inside their Pokéballs she had been very restless, much for the same reason as Latvia. After being told about his friend from home she seemed very excited to meet him but Latvia was still nervous.

By the sounds of things France had spent much more time in this world than he had. Even though it was nothing compared to their long life-spans Latvia couldn't help but wonder about how different he would be. Not only that but there were a few new faces for him to meet as well. What kinds of people would they be he wondered as he pet Marija on the head, trying to calm himself down.

[All Envy knows about this trip is that they're supposed to be meeting up with another country that France knows, and he's pretty sure it's the same one he talked to a while ago. He doesn't know about any of the PGC side of things. If he knew what Latvia even looked like, he might have been trying to spot him from the sky as they flew into the city. But he doesn't, so he'll wait on France to point him out.]

[When they land, Envy hops off of his Aerodactyl and recalls him before turning to France (and Katara).]

So, did your friend say where he was gonna be waiting?

[francia]

[Flying around in this weather reminds France of the earlier days of aviation, which he'd admittedly begun to romanticise and now resolves to not any longer. It's freezing, and he can't wait to get inside with the modern convenience that is heating. France breathes out a puff of air that frosts and adjusts his scarf before fishing out his 'Gear from his bag.]

No, but I'll give him a call. He's a pretty small guy, but he might be outside; his climate is generally colder than mine.

[He nods towards a café entrance as the 'Gear starts ringing.]

Let's get out of the cold for now, though.

[timidnature]

[The pacing had finally slowed to him shuffling on the spot and Marija trying to burrow under his coat for warmth. It was times like this that Latvia wished he'd organised things a bit better but he still wasn't sure if it was bothersome of him to call or not. Before he could even bring himself to make a decision a sudden ringing from his bag surprised the both of them.

Fumbling around his belongings he finally managed to pull out his Pokégear and with shaking fingers accepted the call]

H-Hello, Latvia speaking.

[exeggutorhead]

[Envy could not agree more about getting inside. This much cold and snow is bad enough on its own, as far as he's concerned, but flying in it? No fun at all.]

Yes, inside. Good idea.

[He's in a hurry to get in, but he keeps pace with however fast the other two are walking. He listens curiously to what he can hear of the 'Gear; it sounds like the person they're meeting picked up, at least.]

[francia]

[France flashes both Envy and Katara a wiry smile as he tucks the 'Gear up against his ear to use his hands to push open the café door, holding it open for them first.]

Hello, Latvia! We've arrived in Violet City. Are you currently in town? I hope you're not out in this weather.

[timidnature]

Yes, I'm waiting just outside the inn.

Have you arrived yet? I can come and meet you.

[Even though he'd spent the whole time staring at the sky, Violet was still a sizable city. It would have been easy to miss them]

[francia]

[France grabs a table by one of the front windows, waving with a merry smile at one of the waiters he recognises from when he was last in Violet. The waiter brightens and heads over with hot tea for them as well as menus.]

Could you come meet us at the café near to the Pokémon Center? We've just gotten a table, and they have very good tea here.

[timidnature]

Of course! I'll get there as soon as I can!

I'll see you in a moment. Marija, come on.

[He pulls his coat from over his Flaaffy's head as he hangs up and the two of them hurry over to the Pokémon center. Latvia has a rough idea of where the café was so he hopes he can see them]

[francia]

[France beams, even though Latvia can't see it.]

Excellent! Call me if you need any additional directions.

[France taps off the 'Gear screen and sets it down on the table. To Envy and Katara, he says:]

He should be here soon. Would you like anything to eat or more than tea to drink? This is my treat.

[Envy is very glad that not only are they inside with tea now, but that the person they're meeting is coming to them and they won't have to go back outside. Three years in Johto have done nothing to endear him to cold weather. He takes a sip of his tea and glances at the menu.]

Some soup would be good, after flying through all that. Thanks.

[He grins at France, looking amused.]

I noticed they still remember you.

[francia]

[France grins, a little lopsidedly.]

Of course they do. I'm the most exciting thing to happen to this place.

[Obviously, France's mood is excellent if he's sprouting stuff like that. He waves over the waiter back over.]

Two soups of the day and a bread basket, if you please.

[It didn't take him long to find the PokéCentre and barely five minutes later he saw a flash of someone familiar in the window of a café. It was surreal, to finally see someone he knew in the flesh after so long but he beamed and waved through the window before hurrying into the warmth with Marija on his heels]

Mr. France! It's so good to see you again!

I'm sorry, I didn't keep you long, did I?

From what I remember of this place, I really wouldn't be surprised if that was true.

[He laughs, clearly getting to be in a better mood himself now that they're inside with tea and more hot food coming. He notices the person waving at them through the window out of the corner of his eye.]

I think your friend is here.

[And yep, looks like that's the case. Envy's only spoken to Latvia the one time on audio, but the guy walking over to them definitely looks like he belongs to that voice.]

[francia]

[France notices Latvia at about the same time as Envy does. He nods briefly as he stands up to greet Latvia with a light hug about the shoulders and kisses to each cheek.]

Lovely to see you again, Latvia. You didn't keep us long at all.

[He turns back to Envy and Katara, grinning broadly.]

Latvia, this is wonderful man is Envy and this beautiful lady is Katara. Envy, Katara, this is Lativa, who is another nation from my world.
