Mayuri's been waiting for this day! Joker had collected his first badge out of eight now, and so they could travel again to a different location. Winning your first badge was exciting, so she attended the match proudly to cheer on her friend from the sidelines. She was proud and practically skipped along to go back outside when they decided to exit the building. After all she did give him a few tips and pointers to assist him along the way.

But of course, she wanted to treat him. A nice dinner, one better than just having fried chicken or sandwiches. Somewhere a bit more upscale than they were used to.

When they arrived outside, the sun was still out but not for long. Mayuri looked up at the bright sky above her and reached out her hand towards the sun, with no warning at all. It was like she was out of it, as she had stopped talking and only focused towards the sun and the blue sky around it.

"Looks like the weather is celebratin' as well!"

Joker doesn't seem to mind the odd little gesture, still full of smiles. This time, there was a bit more of a genuine feel to it. There were still a lot of things wrong- his troupe still not here after all- but he did seem to be making headway. After all, they were celebrating just that. He shifted the lightly wrapped package under his arm, ignoring the cheerful chatter from his Pokemon. Just like usual, they were out of their Pokeballs. This meant lot of preening and proud puffs from Angel and Lightning. He let them have their moment in the spotlight. The Mime Jr's Encore and the (now evolved) Luxray had carried most of the weight in the gym battle, after all.

"Somethin' on yer mind?" he asked as he adjusted himself again. It wasn't a very big package tucked in the crook of his arm, wrapped in simple paper and a ribbon, but it could still be a little tricky to hold onto. He was quite insistent he carry it however, so... Well.

Her pokemon on the other hand, were nowhere to be seen, either resting in her apartment room or inside the pokeballs. One exception being Pipi the Togekiss, who never left Mayuri's side at this point, the usual for a starter pokemon who had been with her for almost her entire life.

Mayuri continued to stare into space, hand held high as if to reach the clouds hanging around for another minute or two. She lowered it and smiled.

"Wellll... would you like to do something fun tonight?"

No real answer. Joker doesn't let it bother him much, just giving a slight shake of his head. It's more fond than anything, honestly. This isn't the first odd quirk he's had to deal with. Pretty tame, really.

"Well, y'know I'm always up for a bit of fun, especially in a quiet little town like this." He gives a playful wink.

"Oh oh, maybe we could go to the circus!" She suggested to him back, hands clenched in excitement. It was a good idea and fitting for one like Joker, except... there wasn't any circuses close by.

That actually made him laugh- and by extension, Angel does too. It certainly was fitting, although it occurred to Joker that he's never seen one of the acts from anywhere besides the Ringmaster's place. "Well, I could certainly hold a private showin' for ya, although it's been ages since I've had ta practice my skills." His laughter relaxed into more of a chuckle. "I suppose that wouldn't do, 'tho, since I suspect ya would want me ta relax instead a work."

"That wouldn't work, no." Her face pouts for a second, then dwells on another idea since there were no circuses to be found.

"I could take you out to dinner, maybe one of the fancier places where they have special seating for Pokemon too!" She gives a nod to her Togekiss.

"Yeah?" It's certainly an amusing thought, although maybe for most people it isn't really. Joker can't help it. Before coming here, he stuck to mostly plain food although it did its job and filled a man up. It was simply what happened when you were always moving. The few times he ate otherwise were generally at the Baron's... and even then most of the high quality stuff went to the Baron.

Actually thinking of going out to have dinner with someone he'd come to rather like... It was really a nice idea. Joker found himself liking it the more he thought about it.

"Think I'd like that, as a matter of fact." He glances back at his own little group with a teasing grin. "Best behavior tonight, you lot. We're goin' some place fancy, got it?"

"You too, Pipi. But I know you'll be okey-dokey with it~" It was a nice change of pace from eating their own cooked food most of the time. Generally because they couldn't eat together from having different schedules. But today they were free to enjoy whatever they pleased.

"Hmm, what about that place next to Sprout Tower?" She suggest, putting a finger next to her lips while reaching over to rub Pipi's feathery back.

"Oh, I know that place. Boss talks about it well enough." Rogue gave an affirmative kind of noise, practically attaching to Joker's leg. The man gave a chuckle, helping the Furret up onto his shoulders. At least he'd never be wanting for a scarf so long as Rogue was around. "Sounds like a good idea!"

"Great, we should dress up nice and fancy too~!" She needed to reason to break into her nice clothes, since you can't wear them every day, especially when training pokemon.

"Yeah, we should-" He stops himself, a look of realization coming across his face and making him pause. Besides his work clothes and the get up he arrived in, he doesn't really have any suitable 'fancy' clothes. Not to mention, his taste if fashion might be a little... outdated, he's starting to realize.

"Ah, Mayuri... What do they consider 'fancy' these days?"

"Like... stuff you see on tv and in the movies?" She said, blinking in confusion. Either way, she wouldn't mind his outdated look, as it wasn't the first time she paraded around with people in outlandish clothes. Joker may not think that way though.

Too bad she didn't have the time to sew him some nice clothes for tonight.

"I meant... more fer when yer goin' out ta some place so nice. I've never much been before. No time fer it." Or class status for it, to be honest, but he'd been fine enough with that for the most part. Food was better when eaten with folks he actually liked, instead of some place that just had fancier ways to make it look. He chuckled. "And now I'm in a entirely new place, too!"
