☆ YOU ARE HERE ☆

KEY:
• BLUE areas are where the bulk of the party's events will be located! As you can see, the festivities will be taking place largely outdoors, and the grounds will reflect that; there'll be the usual decorations of pretty floral arrangements, little lights, things like that. Think upscale garden party! There'll also be a ballroom indoors for more traditionally fancy red-carpet goings-on, but most of the action (and volume of guests) will be found mingling out back.
• GREEN areas are where guests will be staying overnight! Unfortunately, you'll be sleeping-bagging it up, since there's a limited amount of bedrooms in this house and they're all being occupied by Clair, Lance, the Elite Four, and guests who are regrettably way more important than you. However, this is where you'll be given space to leave your possessions, claim some sleeping room, and generally crash for the night once the festivities do you in. (Note: you're welcome to try to sleep elsewhere, but Clair might catch you and disapprove. You don't want that, do you?)
• RED areas are unfortunately off-limits to guests! If asked about them, anyone will tell you that those are the rooms and areas that the Elite Four (and their special guests) have claimed for themselves, and they're sealed off tight. Please don't try to break into them anyway; you'll only be caught and punished.
• AREA A is the designated Indoor Ballroom area, for the people who prefer the classy elegance of a formal red-carpet gala over the more whimsy outdoor garden party atmosphere in the back. There's a big skylight, hardwood floors, tasteful artwork, and classy music — a little more upscale than the shenanigans going on outside, for the people who'd rather that kind of thing.
• AREA B will be the area of interest for anyone hoping to sneak a little Pokemon research on the side: this is the Library/Gallery area of the house. While most of it is your standard "tall shelves of ancient identical books" fare, there are a few points of interest — we've detailed them further right here. Guests are welcome to look around a little, but burying themselves in research the whole time will be highly frowned upon, and you'll be politely encouraged to leave the library alone and go rejoin the festivities if you hole up in there for too long.
• AREA C is...well, the Parking Lot. More importantly, it's where you take your Pokemon battles if you simply gotta get your battle on; keep it out and away from the house, please, and try not to make too much of a mess. Skirmishes, sorties, and sparring will be tolerated here and here alone. Do it anywhere else and you'll be facing some very displeased hosts.
• AREA D is the Elite Four's Trophy Room. Please be quiet and respectful if you come up here to have a look around; it's a solemn kind of place. Here you'll find various collections of badges, ribbons, awards, and trophies put on display, with one wall devoted to each member of the Elite Four. There are also pictures of the Elite Four members themselves, though it seems there's been a changeover since the last prom; the candids and Official Portraits™ depict different people entirely now (with the exception of Bruno) and there are a few photos of some sort of ceremony among the others. These photos include Lance being declared Champion of both regions by Professor Oak, while the rest of the Elite Four look on; Lorelai hugging Will and Karen immediately after their promotion to Elite Four; Agatha and Koga having an exhibition battle between her Gengar and his Crobat; all six of them piling into the frame for what amounts to a massive group selfie, etc.

Lysandre is here at the request of Professor Sycamore, and it's fairly obvious that he has no idea what to do with himself; he's never been one for mass socializing, and while he certainly knows how, that doesn't mean he's going to. Those who are around the general vicinity of the library for a good portion of the evening can find him there; what with the fact that he's kind of freakishly tall and he's got that shock of red hair going on, he's a bit obvious, though he's wearing a far more toned-down version of what he usually wears (read: the red accents on the inseams are not present, nor is the white fluffy...thingo at his collar; it's a perfectly sane black suit tonight, thank god) and he seems rather intent on studying pretty much anything he can get his hands on and he isn't exactly going to be in anyone's face if it can be helped.
He's also going to be rather present in the trophy room, hand hovering lightly over those glass cases without actually touching them (because touching them would be gauche as hell, thank you very much); he seems rather intent on studying the pictures there for god only knows what reason.
After a while, however, he'll venture out to the indoor ballroom where he can be spotted holding up the walls; dancing and socializing isn't entirely out of the question, actually, assuming he's approached first.
...basically, however, he's keeping to himself; as a result, the thing that's most striking about his presence may not have anything to do with the man himself, but rather the Pokémon he has with him - that being pretty assuredly not anything normally found in Johto.]
no subject
[Okay, not a real scream, but Lysandre will probably notice a fellow redhead staring intensely at him. Seriously. Is he trying to undress him with his eyes or...? Oh, wait, nevermind. Don't flatter yourself, Lysandre. Joker isn't staring at you. He's staring at that beautiful GORGEOUS FANTASTIC Pokemon you have with you.]
[It's a lion. IT'S A LION.]
[Finally, he seems to recover from his heart attack and finally approaches. Trotting ahead of him with considerably more energy is a little Mime Jr. who looks like she's going to cry with joy. She can't help it, okay? Empathy connection with her trainer, she doesn't know what to do with all this joy and excitement. It is too much for her tiny body.]
[The Luxray by Joker's side looks much more dismissive and actually tosses her head to the side when the tiny little group comes to a stop besides. Is that some Poke-trash talk being muttered from the other lion-like Pokemon? Ssssh, no. Except yes. Maybe. You're not so tough, who even wears gaudy colors like that, are you a fashion accessory or what.
Why is her trainer getting distracted by another cat THIS ISN'T FAIR.][While the Mime Jr. very visibly restrains herself from just hugging Lysandre's Pokemon, Joker just takes a deep breath and tries to contain his excitement.]
What sorta Pokemon is that, if yer alright with me asking?
no subject
So. Lysandre will just be tipping his head at the question as though he's not entirely sure why he's being asked, but he doesn't seem too troubled by it. Novice trainer, perhaps. Still unfamiliar with the species in that case. Sure, why not.]
The species' name is Pyroar; do you like it?
[The response comes easily; it's fairly even, if a bit deliberately so. Polite, at least.]
no subject
[Enjoy all the enthusiasm shoved down your throat, Lysandre. Most of Joker's smiles during the party have been practiced or just his normal chipper grins, but now he's giving one that's 200% genuine.]
[Luxray just looks miffed at the compliment, but then Mime Jr. realizes what's up and starts to pat her reassuring while still beaming towards Pyroar.]
I've never seen one a those here in Johto before! I should know, I asked around. That a male or a lady? I know Luxrays all tend ta have the same manes, but ya never can tell with other types a Pokemon, right?

Library
So he'll quietly walk through, poking his head into the spaces between the shelves, whispering for Solstice every now and then. Meanwhile, the Eevee has darted into wherever Lysandre happens to be, clearly not looking where she's going as she has just crashed into his leg. It's akin to being hit with a particularly large cotton ball, so at least there's that.]
no subject
To his credit, Lysandre doesn't miss a beat in the least before just picking it up, rather than trying to work out what on earth just kind of rammed into him like the world's most ineffective miniature battering ram; granted, he's doing it by the ruff of the neck like it's some sort of cat, but at the very least he's being gentle with it and he shifts his grip easily to get a hold of it properly as opposed to just letting it dangle there.]
...And whom do you belong to, hm?
[His voice is even, if a bit heavily-accented; still easily understandable, at least.]

Solstice? ....Hey, this isn't funny now, cmon out! You're not supposed to be running around in here...

Trophy Room
Maybe he shouldn't pry or pester this man, but darn it, if there's new Pokémon lurking around, he's gotta learn all he can. This is a golden opportunity to experience something new and expand his knowledge to boot.
So he'll just, y'know, tuck that 'dex away and move closer to Lysandre and his 'mon.]
You know, I've been all over Johto and Kanto, but I've never seen a Pokémon like that. Is he some kind of fire type?
[The mane certainly makes him think fire. It's red and yellow, after all!]
no subject
And it is, admittedly, a cool as hell lion.]
Very good; he's dual-typed, actually. Fire and normal. His species is native to Kalos; the name to go with it is Pyroar.
no subject
But what really sticks out is the word "Kalos". There's a region he hasn't heard of before. Kind of explain's the guy's accent, though.
Nodding, Riku gives the Pyroar a second look.]
Dang, then Kalos must be pretty far off. I never even heard of it until now.
[And then suddenly a lightbulb lights up in his head.]
Say, does Kalos have other cool Pokémon like him? Gotta admit, after seeing those Bloobers, I wasn't expecting to see another new species. New for Kanto, anyway.

However, as she goes to shift over to the next case, she spots something a little more interesting than a few trophies - and potentially a lot more profitable.
...hello, well-dressed gentleman.
Quickly checking her make-up in the nearest reflection, she floats over to where he's standing, sidling up to the case and painting a rather pleasant (for her) smile on her face as she focuses her gaze on the trophies.
This could be fun.]
Quite an impressive collection, isn't it? It's enough to make one feel rather inadequate.
no subject
In a way, I suppose - they are the strongest trainers over two regions.
[He glances over at her while he says it, just long enough for him to get some idea of the person he's talking to; his eye contact doesn't linger for long, however.]
It's not a path that interests me, unfortunately; I'm not well-suited to it. But I can respect what they do.
no subject
[Oh, she certainly hasn't missed Pyroar, and neither has her Ninetales - do try to look less thirsty, Beatrice, it's terribly embarrassing....
Now hopefully that thing won't turn out to be female, or this will be off to a fantastic start.]
I've always been fond of Fire Pokemon. They have a certain...majesty to them.
[...please actually be a Fire Pokemon
like judging by Beatrice's reaction she's 99% sure it's Fire Pokemon and she's gambled on worse odds
but still]

Not really a party-goer, huh? [She isn't either. She really only came for her friends.]

Not particularly, no; I'm here at a few friends' request.

I didn't really do this kind of thing at home, my friends just insisted it would be fun. So I understand.

He is a little bit afraid of the on-fire mystery Pokemon, it's true, and a little bit afraid of the incredibly tall Other Mystery Pokemon with the majestic hair nearby, but he also has a very distinct problem, and that problem is that he is lost. He'd wandered into the library here because it was quiet, which he likes a lot better than the very loud rooms outside of it, but he was supposed to stay near Chief and his mommy, but then he got turned around and now he is lost.
So he is slightly afraid, but he knows what you are supposed to do when you are lost, and that is to ask someone politely for help.
So, bravely, he is going to go ask these Fire-types that he has just found if perhaps they know where his mommy is.
...Which he will do, once he is finished peeking out around this bookshelf and...yes, that's right, any minute now.]
Maaaaaaa.
[OOPS, DID HE MAKE THAT NOISE OUT LOUD, HE DIDN'T MEAN TO.
And if the noise he has just made happens to attract the Fire-types' attention, then he will somewhat guiltily shuffle out from behind his safe bookshelf space, and attempt to muster up the nerve to ask politely if they have seen his mommy.]
no subject
Pyroar, at least, is well-trained enough to stay near Lysandre, though he's kind of giving Miles a bit of a Look while he tries to work out what's going on; they've had quite a few Pokémon just kind of wander up to them lately, and this one is doing a decided lack of wandering up and an even more decided lack of just coming in like a wrecking ball, so he has no idea what this thing's deal is other than looking kind of easily intimidated.
Lysandre tends to get all linefacey when he just kind of intimidates the easily intimidated thing, and it's been made plain that he's not supposed to make his trainer lineface too hard at this party...thing, even if there is a lack of partying going on. So he will settle for Disdainful Looks and keeping his distance, thank you.
...Lysandre, on the other hand, is a bit more receptive to this sort of thing; he's familiar with the species, of course - how could he not be, he had to deal with them more or less all over the lab when he was working with Augustine directly because the man is incredibly fond of Kanto starters, for some reason - and while he keeps a reasonable amount of distance, he's willing to approach a bit and kneel down so he's a bit more on eye-level.
He has no idea what to do with his face and as such his expression isn't doing much of anything at all and he's just sort of deadeyeing really hard, but we can't have everything, now, can we.]
And who might you be...?
[It's said in that way that's not really expecting an answer, not any more than most of the foreigners would expect from a dog, but it's out there, at least.]

So dazzled, in fact, that as she's looking at the pictures of the Elite Four she almost runs smack dab into a lion.]
...Woah! Hey there, big guy...
[She's not afraid --- between her mom and her dad, she'd learned not to be afraid of animals. But she does have a healthy respect for some big cat that probably also has some magical powers, so she does back up a bit.
She looks up...
...and up...
to see his trainer.]
Oh, hey, this is yours, right?
no subject
...He is, yes.
[...That said, Pyroar is kind of curious at this one, just because hello there, completely nonobservant individual. Don't mind him just kind of...well, honestly he's sort of deadeyeing you but we can't have everything. Vague interest or facial expressions: pick one.]

Lysandre is a large man, and not exactly hard to miss.]
It's very quiet and peaceful here compared to the ballroom.
no subject
It is, yes. I've never been one for large gatherings like this.
[Lysandre.]
Though it is rather lovely, all things considered.
