☆ YOU ARE HERE ☆




KEY:

• BLUE areas are where the bulk of the party's events will be located! As you can see, the festivities will be taking place largely outdoors, and the grounds will reflect that; there'll be the usual decorations of pretty floral arrangements, little lights, things like that. Think upscale garden party! There'll also be a ballroom indoors for more traditionally fancy red-carpet goings-on, but most of the action (and volume of guests) will be found mingling out back.
• GREEN areas are where guests will be staying overnight! Unfortunately, you'll be sleeping-bagging it up, since there's a limited amount of bedrooms in this house and they're all being occupied by Clair, Lance, the Elite Four, and guests who are regrettably way more important than you. However, this is where you'll be given space to leave your possessions, claim some sleeping room, and generally crash for the night once the festivities do you in. (Note: you're welcome to try to sleep elsewhere, but Clair might catch you and disapprove. You don't want that, do you?)
• RED areas are unfortunately off-limits to guests! If asked about them, anyone will tell you that those are the rooms and areas that the Elite Four (and their special guests) have claimed for themselves, and they're sealed off tight. Please don't try to break into them anyway; you'll only be caught and punished.

• AREA A is the designated Indoor Ballroom area, for the people who prefer the classy elegance of a formal red-carpet gala over the more whimsy outdoor garden party atmosphere in the back. There's a big skylight, hardwood floors, tasteful artwork, and classy music — a little more upscale than the shenanigans going on outside, for the people who'd rather that kind of thing.

• AREA B will be the area of interest for anyone hoping to sneak a little Pokemon research on the side: this is the Library/Gallery area of the house. While most of it is your standard "tall shelves of ancient identical books" fare, there are a few points of interest — we've detailed them further right here. Guests are welcome to look around a little, but burying themselves in research the whole time will be highly frowned upon, and you'll be politely encouraged to leave the library alone and go rejoin the festivities if you hole up in there for too long.

• AREA C is...well, the Parking Lot. More importantly, it's where you take your Pokemon battles if you simply gotta get your battle on; keep it out and away from the house, please, and try not to make too much of a mess. Skirmishes, sorties, and sparring will be tolerated here and here alone. Do it anywhere else and you'll be facing some very displeased hosts.

• AREA D is the Elite Four's Trophy Room. Please be quiet and respectful if you come up here to have a look around; it's a solemn kind of place. Here you'll find various collections of badges, ribbons, awards, and trophies put on display, with one wall devoted to each member of the Elite Four. There are also pictures of the Elite Four members themselves, though it seems there's been a changeover since the last prom; the candids and Official Portraits™ depict different people entirely now (with the exception of Bruno) and there are a few photos of some sort of ceremony among the others. These photos include Lance being declared Champion of both regions by Professor Oak, while the rest of the Elite Four look on; Lorelai hugging Will and Karen immediately after their promotion to Elite Four; Agatha and Koga having an exhibition battle between her Gengar and his Crobat; all six of them piling into the frame for what amounts to a massive group selfie, etc.

[There is someone here that snores even louder than he does. And the fact that it was enough to finally wake Naruto up some time late morning, is pretty impressive.]

[He tries to ignore it, but once it's too much he sits up, grabbing his pillow and hurling it at this random guy's head.]

Oi, you're being too loud!

[The pillow bounces off the back of his head like a ping-pong ball off a rock.

A hairy arm extricates itself from the cocoon of the sleeping bag and waves heavily at the voice.]

Hrngh? Hrrrgggm.

You're snoring y'know.

[Well the snoring has stopped at least, so it's good enough.

...Of course he didn't think this through though, because now he has to get out of his sleeping bag and crawl across the floor, leaning over to actually grab his pillow back.]

[Nope. That pillow is Blake's now to put over his head.]

[Oh no you don't. Grabbing a corner of it, Naruto begins to pull on it.]

Oi!! Give it back!

[Blake keeps a firm hold with both hands.]

You didn' wan' it. Mine now.

[He tugs again, this time using a foot to push against the THIEF'S back as he pulls and pulls.]

YOU'VE GOTTA GIVE IT BACK RIGHT NOW Y'KNOWWWW!

[Blake groans as the kid's piping voice slams right into the walls of his skull] For fuck's sake, shut your cry hole.

[He abruptly lets go of the pillow to cover his ears.]

[Noticing it's now free, Naruto wastes no time in snatching his pillow back, plonking it down in his lap with a huff as he looks over at the guy.

And now that he's paying more attention, it finally dawns on him that they've met before. Well, sort of.]

Oi, you're that guy aren't you.

[Fine, he'll put his own over his head. The brat's volume ratcheted down a step, and that's what really matters.

His voice comes out muffled by the pillow.] Yeah, I'm 'that guy.' You wanna fight about it?

I don't wanna fight, I just wanna talk about it. Why'd you say all that stuff y'know?

[Because obviously you know exactly what he is talking about.]

That stuff about me lying about Obito, and then all that stupid stuff you said about me wanting to me Hokage.

[That drags him a few steps toward reality. He moves the pillow enough to look at him from under it. It makes him remember another kid trying to talk to him while he was trying to sleep. For once, the aggressive, assholish edge goes out of his voice.]

Look, kid. Where I come from, a preteen wanting to grow up to be a warlord isn't a good thing.

You knew Obito, didn't you? Can you really see that kid being a mass murderer?

[The question makes him sigh, voice lowering again as he flops down onto his pillow.]

The Obito that was here was annoying, and kinda stupid. But not like that. I already said I dunno why he turned out like that.

[Blake's hungover and tired of fighting. He mumbles at the floor.]

I'm never gonna understand your world. It's never gonna fuckin' be okay.

All I know is he was a good kid.

Yeah well I'm not gonna understand ones like this, or wherever it is you're from.

[huff.]

I guess it's not like it matters anymore since him and my parents and Kaka-sensei aren't even here anymore anyway.

I'm from the normal one, kid. There's nothing special to understand.

[He lets out a long sigh as his fingers knit together. Gnarled knuckles, thick, knotted joints, something between a pugilist's and an old man's hands.]

Yeah. It doesn't matter. They're long gone.

[Feeling a little more relaxed, oddly enough, he lets out a sigh as he throws his hands up behind his head, flopping on his back.]

It's not normal to me. Not being able to use chakra- or not being able to carry weapons lie here, that's weird to me. Who fights wars or protects the country for you??

[lieutenantantichrist]

[Blake's about to flop back down, go to sleep, and forget about any chirpy blond child soldier wake-up calls, but it looks like that's not in the cards.]

Cops do the day-to-day shit of protecting people, and we got an army for when somebody needs the shit kicked out of them overseas. The difference is they're goddamn adults.

[There's one thing they have in common:] But yeah, it's fuckin' weird not to carry around a gun.

I guess ninjas do both, at the same time. Except there's like.. ninja police too, y'know? 'Cause some times ninjas are bad guys too.

[They don't have guns, but they do carry other weapons so he gets it.]

Can't believe people fight just with Pokemon. Or how the Police even arrest anyone if they don't have weapons.

[Sure he got arrested himself, but that is because he didn't put up a fight and just went along with it.]

There's gotta be bad guys here, right? Like some of those Rocket people.. that are gonna try and hurt people. Or steal Pokemon again.

[lieutenantantichrist]

[A yawn makes Blake's jaw crack loudly.] Must be fuckin' confusing, picking out the bad guys when everybody's a contract killer.

Police without weapons. Fuckin' ridiculous. Nobody's gonna listen to you if you don't have the firepower to back it up. That's one problem I bet you don't have.

[Blake scrubs his hand through his hair, trying to get his brain working for the morning.]

Yeah. There's always assholes, wherever you go. What're you gonna do about it? Kill 'em?

[believeit]

It's pretty easy to tell who's bad. Like your cop or army guys, I bet you know when someone's doing wrong stuff too.

[He rolls onto his side, shaking his head.] Just killing people isn't the answer. But I dunno here. Lock them up until they realise what they did wrong?

That's half the goddamn job. Figure out who did what. Sure, you got your instincts, but-

[Blake cuts off abruptly. He shakes his head and pretends it didn't happen.]

Congratulations, kid. You just came up with the idea of jail. Except it's less "realize what they did wrong" than "keep them away from the rest of the damn world."
