If it weren't for the heightened security while boarding, the passengers today might not have noticed any real difference between today's trip and any other trip taken by the Magnet Train. Sure the staff seem to be a little on edge, but there's about the same number of passengers as always, and they don't really seem all that concerned with the broadcasted threat. And about five, five and a half hours into the train ride, nothing really seems to have happened. Maybe the thieves were just full of hot air?

Or not since around this time the train starts slowing down before reaching a complete stop. If anybody takes a quick look outside, it'll show that the train's definitely not in Goldenrod yet. If it wasn't clear that something's wrong, a few moments after the train stops, there's a voice over the PA system that's definitely not the conductor's.

“Attention, passengers, this train is under our control now and if you don't want there to be any...accidents, you'll do as we say. In other words, stay seated if you know what's good for you.”

By now some of the NPC passengers are starting to look worried. Not all of them though. Maybe they know something the others don't?

“Now then. In a few minutes, some friends of ours are going to make their way through the cars. They'll be asking for a few things, and it's in your best interests to hand them over.”

With that, the train's speaker system clicks off.

[Cherry runs up just a second before Jimmy, both panting slightly but not quite yet out of breath. For a kid his age, Jimmy's got an unusual amount of stamina. Then again, shots of adrenaline could keep you going for days if you let it.

He looks over at the door, Cherry standing next to Rogue now, bumping him gently with her head to see if he's ok.]

..I dunno. Either that or we need to figure out if we can find a key or something, which I guess...the conductor would'a had it, right? That means a Rocket has it now.

[He looks over to Joker with his hand hovering over his own pokeballs, definitely waiting for him to be the one to make the decision.]

[Both Power Gem and Thunderbolt are successful and are more than enough to KO both Pokemon.]

This isn't over yet!

[She's got two Pokemon left and they're both...Golbats. Levels are 34 and 55.]

All right! Both of you! Air Cutter! Acrobatics!

[That's an Air Cutter from the level 34 one and an Acrobatics from the level 55 one.]

Yeah, yeah, we'll see who's laughing by the end of this.

[Aerial Ace takes out Grimer, so he'll recall that and send out another Grimer. This one's only level six, but hey, it's not like his opponent knows that.]

Poison Gas!

[Unlike the last turn, this time Grimer's actually using Poison Gas!]

[The next word out of his mouth was probably going to be scared, but instead there's just an oof noise as the Grunt's legs were kicked out from under him, knocking him to the ground.]

You're going to pay for that, you little...

[Little what isn't exactly specified. He's a bit too busy trying to to get to his feet to yell anything specific.]

[Once to grunt had fallen, the teen stood straight up again. This was too easy!]

Heh, had enough?

[He was never the type to beat on guys when they're down. Sonic folded his arms again as he waited to see what the punk would do next. He half expected him to make a run for it, honestly. He didn't exactly fit the bill for a quick paced fighter, not making him much of a threat...]

[Unfortunately, he is not quite that fast, so he does breathe in some of the poison... but it's not visibly affecting him yet, and he is still attempting to whack that Grimer in the face with his wing.]

[Of course! Like Riku's about to let a thief fly off scot free. Given Slash's small size, he opts to grab another Pokéball, sending a Lucario out and about. Said Lucario dashes towards said window with Slash trailing close behind.]

[Except don't because he's not quite done yet.]

[And our not so bright Rocket is throwing a sucker punch at Sonic. No, not the Pokemon attack. Just a regular punch. Will it succeed?]

Like I care if the people on this train get sick.

[Wing Attack takes down Grimer! But the Rocket doesn't really seem too broken up about it. It did its job, after all.

And now it's time for Pokemon number three! A...level 9 Grimer! But that's his last Grimer! Seriously. He's got three other Pokemon, but they're not Grimers.]

Grimer! Pound!

[Grimer sort of...leaps (stretches?) at Galetalon to hit it with a fist made of...sludge?]

[While she'd like to escape, she's really not willing to risk being attacked by Pokemon, so she'll stop and just sigh.]

Can't blame me for trying. I guess there's no choice left but to...

[Surrender? Nah. With a grin, she'll bring out her last Pokemon. Another Golbat!]

Use Haze, of course!

[Golbat starts spewing forth some black smoke. Maybe that'll cover another escape attempt? If not, she's got nothing else to throw at him.]

Well, since you're an absolute cad and a morally bankrupt brigand I figured that was the answer, but come on! Have some honor! ...And aren't you a person on this train too?

[...She's admittedly starting to feel a little woozy herself, but that's not going to slow her down.

It is affecting Galetalon's concentration a bit, and so he doesn't manage to dodge out of the way of the sludge fist. It doesn't hurt him much, though, so though he's knocked back in the air a bit, he quickly manages to right himself.]

Alright, see if you can take this one out with Slash!

[...actually, he was already in the middle of preparing to get up close and personal --- Slash seems like as good an attack to use as any, at least.]

He's on his feet before she can stop him, her hands in front of her face in case he tries throwing a punch. Not... that she really expects that so much in Johto/Kanto anymore.

"Where the hell do you think you're going? If you wanna escape, you've got to get past me first!"

Pokémon or hand to hand, she really doesn't care which. Her Espeon is ready for battle if need be, waiting on the appearance of another Pokémon, or a mental word from his trainer to try blasting this guy with Psychic energy.

[The Psybeam also hits, taking a chunk out of the Noctowl's own HP, but not enough to cripple her, and Evan commands her to respond with Air Slash.]

[As a guy who dealt with Robuttnik's old trick of pretending to give up and beg for forgiveness, he wasn't fully convinced by this guy in the least. But he played along.]

See? It's so much easier when you give up.

[He makes his way over to the Rocket to grab him. When the sucker punch came his way, Sonic merely swayed over to the side to avoid it, grabbing the the Grunt's arm. He then proceeded to make a pout-y face at the Rocket as if he had emotionally wounded him.]

Aww, you don't want to hurt little ol' me, do ya? I thought we could become friends!

[Smiling again, he waited for the guy to make his next move as Sonic held his arm, overly confident that he was too quick for him...]

And as far as being a person on the train too, it's not like he's standing in front of the gas or anything like that. From standing behind Grimer, he's pretty much safe from its effects.

Unfortunately, Grimer's not safe from the effects of Slash, so it faints!]

All right, let's try something different then!

[And the next Pokemon's...not a Grimer! It's a level 30 Arbok!]

Arbok! Crunch!

[Arbok snaps forward, trying to bite Galetalon! At least it's not some sort of sludge or toxic gas this time?]

No, no punches here. He's too focused on getting out of here to think about doing anything like that.

“Get past you? Fine by me! Go Raticate!”

But he's not too focused to have a Pokemon battle. Funny how that works, right? Anyway, now that Raticate's out, it just sort of growls and waits for its first command which is...

“Scary Face!”

Yup. Scary Face. Check out the weird face Raticate's making. Horrifying, isn't it? Or not.

[Slash connects! And that's definitely enough to make Arbok think twice about putting its teeth anywhere near Galetalon again. Unfortunately for Galetalon though...]

[That's not enough to keep it from spewing acid at it. Apparently Grimer's not the only Pokemon this Rocket has that can throw gross substances at the opponent.]

[Zen Headbutt connects and Raticate's...hanging on by a thread. What to do, what to do?]

Raticate! Use...

[He's not even really sure what to use here. This kid's almost taken out his last Pokemon. This wasn't supposed to happen!]

Quick Attack!

[There. That should hit first. Of course, if Bella hits after it, there's nothing he can really do about it.]

[Quick Attack does hit, but it's about as effective as a flick on the nose. What's worse is that Shaun caught the Rocket faltering, and now he's pretty sure that he's got him on the ropes.]

Bella, finish this! Psybeam!

[what a horrifying double whammy. Between the poison, the Crunch, and now the acid currently starting to eat its way through his feathers, Galetalon isn't looking terribly good. He toughs out the pain without letting out a cry, but it's enough to make Cynthia briefly consider going for another Pokemon.

But... he looks like he wants to keep going until he can't fight anymore and would probably give the entire team hell if she recalled him anyway, so if she can get in one last shot...!]

All right, let's try to end this quick and show them what this sort of villainy gets them! Aerial Ace, one more time!

No way! That was my last Pokemon!

[The Rocket throws his arms up in frustration, not sure what to do next. He could try and take the kid out, but that runs the risk of getting blasted by Munna, and ugh, why did he even let his friends talk him into attacking the train anyway?]

All right! You win this round kid!

[He's just going to sit back down in his chair and glare. Yeah, that'll show him.]

But I've got friends on this train and I'm sure they'll be more than happy to teach you a lesson!

[Unfortunately, his friends are all too busy losing at Pokemon battles to teach anyone a lesson, so there's nothing to worry about there! He'll just sit there grumbling until he's eventually carted off by the police.]
