I think I can. I think I can. I think I can.
Who: Everybody on the Magnet Train + Anyone who wants to help evacuate said train!
Where: The Magnet Train!
When: April 26th!
Summary: Train robberies, Pokemon battles, and electrical fires!
Rating: If it goes higher than PG, I'll edit!
Log:
If it weren't for the heightened security while boarding, the passengers today might not have noticed any real difference between today's trip and any other trip taken by the Magnet Train. Sure the staff seem to be a little on edge, but there's about the same number of passengers as always, and they don't really seem all that concerned with the broadcasted threat. And about five, five and a half hours into the train ride, nothing really seems to have happened. Maybe the thieves were just full of hot air?
Or not since around this time the train starts slowing down before reaching a complete stop. If anybody takes a quick look outside, it'll show that the train's definitely not in Goldenrod yet. If it wasn't clear that something's wrong, a few moments after the train stops, there's a voice over the PA system that's definitely not the conductor's.
“Attention, passengers, this train is under our control now and if you don't want there to be any...accidents, you'll do as we say. In other words, stay seated if you know what's good for you.”
By now some of the NPC passengers are starting to look worried. Not all of them though. Maybe they know something the others don't?
“Now then. In a few minutes, some friends of ours are going to make their way through the cars. They'll be asking for a few things, and it's in your best interests to hand them over.”
With that, the train's speaker system clicks off.
{OOC: While the subthreads for the battles and fire are intended for the people already on the train, the subthread for evacuating the train can be tagged by anyone that would've flown out to help with the stranded train!}

[Wing Attack takes down Grimer! But the Rocket doesn't really seem too broken up about it. It did its job, after all.
And now it's time for Pokemon number three! A...level 9 Grimer! But that's his last Grimer! Seriously. He's got three other Pokemon, but they're not Grimers.]
Grimer! Pound!
[Grimer sort of...leaps (stretches?) at Galetalon to hit it with a fist made of...sludge?]
no subject
[...She's admittedly starting to feel a little woozy herself, but that's not going to slow her down.
It is affecting Galetalon's concentration a bit, and so he doesn't manage to dodge out of the way of the sludge fist. It doesn't hurt him much, though, so though he's knocked back in the air a bit, he quickly manages to right himself.]
Alright, see if you can take this one out with Slash!
[...actually, he was already in the middle of preparing to get up close and personal --- Slash seems like as good an attack to use as any, at least.]
no subject
[He rolls his eyes at that.
And as far as being a person on the train too, it's not like he's standing in front of the gas or anything like that. From standing behind Grimer, he's pretty much safe from its effects.
Unfortunately, Grimer's not safe from the effects of Slash, so it faints!]
All right, let's try something different then!
[And the next Pokemon's...not a Grimer! It's a level 30 Arbok!]
Arbok! Crunch!
[Arbok snaps forward, trying to bite Galetalon! At least it's not some sort of sludge or toxic gas this time?]
no subject
[and oh hey something new and different!
...OH GOD IT'S SINKING ITS TEETH INTO HER BIRD OH GOD OH GOD
Thankfully it's nowhere near as fatal as it would be on a real small bird but ---!]
Quick, try to Slash it to get yourself out of there!
[it's a little hard to angle, but maybe he can make it...!]
no subject
[Slash connects! And that's definitely enough to make Arbok think twice about putting its teeth anywhere near Galetalon again. Unfortunately for Galetalon though...]
Arbok! Acid!
[That's not enough to keep it from spewing acid at it. Apparently Grimer's not the only Pokemon this Rocket has that can throw gross substances at the opponent.]
no subject
But... he looks like he wants to keep going until he can't fight anymore and would probably give the entire team hell if she recalled him anyway, so if she can get in one last shot...!]
All right, let's try to end this quick and show them what this sort of villainy gets them! Aerial Ace, one more time!
no subject
Glare! Stop that thing dead in its tracks!
[Arbok's not his last Pokemon, so if it gets knocked out, he can deal with that, but given how tough this stupid bird's been, he doesn't want his other Pokemon to have any trouble with it.]
no subject
Galetalon is really struggling to stay in the air now; he's not taken down like an attack probably would have, but there probably isn't much he can actually do here. Maybe if he had some kind of Quick Attack type thing, but...]
...All right, I don't think there's much else you can do here, Galetalon!
[At this point, Cynthia does recall him --- he looks a bit perturbed as the red light envelops him, but hopefully they can work it out later...?]
That's not the only Pokemon I have, though! It's time for a shocking reveal!
[She tosses her next Pokeball, revealing a tiny, nervous looking zebra who just looks all the more nervous when she realizes what and who they're fighting.]
Let's start it off with Spark, Thunderhoof!
[...well, she does comply, but there's enough hesitation that it's possible Arbok can get in before her.]
no subject
Lucky shot!
[Okay, he's got other Pokemon, but what on earth does he bring out next? One of them's pretty underleveled, so that'd probably be a bad idea. Which only leaves one option.]
Let's see how lucky you are after Raticate gets through with you! Go!
[The Raticate in question's level 23. After that gets knocked out, he only has one more Pokemon.
And for what it's worth, he forgot to call out an attack this turn. Whoops. Too busy thinking that he should have grabbed a Golbat instead.]
no subject
[Thunderhoof actually looks mildly amazed she actually did that, but goes back to the sort of nervous defensive when Raticate is sent out.
...is he going to call out an attack
...
uh...]
Okay, let's start this off with Flame Charge!
[Because nothing is more awesome than lighting yourself on fire and running really fast at an enemy.]
no subject
[Why. Why is there a flaming zebra running at his Raticate? This wasn't how today was supposed to go at all.]
Raticate, use-
[And now it's tackling the Raticate. Wow, today is awful.]
Use Sucker Punch!
[He's just going with that because Fire Extinguisher isn't a Pokemon attack.]
no subject
if this wasn't a High Stakes Pokemon battle Cynthia would be awestruck by how stupidcool this is. NEVERTHELESS, even though Raticate is at a slightly lower level than Thunderhoof that actually hits pretty hard. Sturdy, she is not.
Nevertheless, setting herself on fire managed to limber her up a bit, and she manages to easily put some distance between herself and the Raticate, which gives Cynthia an idea...]
Hm... all right, let's go with Shock Wave!
[Is electricity better than fire? who knows]
no subject
Man, right about now, this Grunt's wishing Raticate had some sort of ranged attack. Because that's just not fair that the zebra can burst into flames and shoot electricity and do all these other neat things, and Raticate can just sort of...bite. And punch. And make faces.
If he wasn't looking at community service forever after this battle, he'd probably go buy some TMs or something.]
Pursuit!
[Yeah, let's just make Raticate chase the zebra. He's totally got this.]
no subject
when you're not being used for the forces of evil, that is
...nevertheless, even though Pursuit isn't as strong as it would be if Cynthia were switching out, but hahahaha Blitzle and defense hahahaha
Still, she's... not good at figuring that kind of thing out, so ---!]
The best defense is a good offense! Go at 'im with Spark!
[ELECTRIC COLLISION?
ELECTRIC COLLISION]
no subject
Raticate, use-
[...never mind. Thanks to the electric collision, Raticate's done for.]
No way!
[Let's see. That's five down, so he's got one Pokemon left. And it's...a level 5 Ekans? Clearly he wasn't saving the best for last.]
Go! Wrap!
[Ekans slithers forward trying to constrict around Thunderhoof. So Ekans is trying to surround a Pokemon that's shown to set itself on fire and cause electric collisions. What could possibly go wrong with this strategy?]
no subject
[...
well that is a pretty huge snake
but at the same time, she kind of has to wonder... should... she just give him this one...]
Uh... yeah, maybe just use Spark again...
[Well, there's no forward momentum, but at the same time, wrapping around something letting out electricity is... probably not going to end well...]
no subject
Then again given the level difference, that probably isn't a huge surprise.]
You've got to be kidding me! No way you beat all of my Pokemon! No way!
[The fact that he now has six knocked out Pokemon obviously says different.]
no subject
[She poses, looking slightly unsure of something...]
...I was expecting that last one to last a little longer, so I didn't come up with a good finisher line! But oh well, victory tune!
[oh god she's humming her own little theme song
i'm so sorry grunt, this is the person you lost to]
no subject
In fact, he's not even sure what to say there, so he's just going to take a seat and alternate between muttering and grumbling until he's taken to jail.]
no subject
But hold your applause, as I must see if there are any other cars in need of my assistance! So, even though it pains me... goodbye, everyone!
[AND SO, SHE HEADS TO THE DOOR REGARDLESS OF WHAT THE REACTION TO THAT IS]
