5th Act - The GRAND Opening!
Who: Come one and all!
Where: Goldenrod
When: Throughout April 30th - May 3rd
Summary: The Eve's Garden Circus is officially open for business! When it comes to a circus, what better group to put the 'grand' in 'Grand Opening'?
Rating: PG
Log:
It's that time everyone's been waiting for! Time to put that nasty train robbery behind everyone. After all, haven't you heard?

Throughout the streets of Goldenrod, folks will find all sorts of colorful characters and Pokemon about. Fliers and the like have been regular this last month or so, but the advertising is in full force today just to make it EXTRA apparent that today is the day. Another hint is all the air traffic in the skies- various Flying-type Pokemon that make up the Circus' transportation service. Who knows? Maybe you're one of those using it today!
And of course, who can miss the colorful spectacle that is the circus itself? Past the entrance gate (which will let you onto the circus grounds for a miniscule fee) are dozens and dozens of stalls and little tents. Looming over them is the main tent itself, a monstrosity of bright welcoming colors. There are all sorts of things amongst their ranks, but it's generally fairly easy to find what you're looking for as Pidgey of a feather flock together and all that... From games of all sorts like the usual carnival games to more of a retro arcade, to a set of shops with local crafts and maybe something from the foreign trainers.... Of course, there's also all sorts of food stalls and even shacks for more filling stuff.
With all that alone, you could probably keep busy for most of the day! But surely you aren't forgetting the Big Act?
Yep, the big acts in the Big Top. Times are posted both at the front gate, on fliers you can pick up here and there, and by the entrance to the large tent. For each day, there will be three shows! Better hope you can snag a ticket before they get sold out... Although maybe you'll get lucky for the next show. Or the next day....
Either way, it promises to be a fun few days!

that is a super cute doll I think I might buy one too aaa
My name is Maka! ["Big sis"...she can't say she's ever been called that.] Yours?
omg yes ikr
[Awww yeah, free stuff.] I'm Saionji Hiyoko! SHSL Classical Japanese Dancer.
so many, and so costly, why does money have to be a thing
[And here we have the passing of the torch--if by torch we mean a tiny Banette to a hellspawn.]
Classical dancing, huh? What's that like? My mom never mentioned stuff like that.
this world is cruel
[Sigh.] Which is why I'm trying to revive it! Classical dancing... it's about knowing all parts of your body, right down to the tips of your fingernails. It's about moving and creating a story with only a few props and your body as the text!
It's an art long ingrained into Japanese history and culture. [1000% cool, man.] So, to answer what it's like... it's like the lives and enjoyments of people from the past flaring forward into the present day.
this world is cruel and full of cute things that are expensive yes
[Just a small town girl!!]
That sounds really cool. Do you think you'd be able to put on a show for everyone some time? There's a theater over in Ecruteak where the Kimono Girls dance, maybe they'd take instruction from you. I'd like to see it!
no subject
Oh, I went there before! They're talented... not as much as me, though. And I'm not blowing hot air here. The SHSL title means I'm simply the best at classical Japanese dancing in my whole home world.
[Shower her with praaaaaise!] But, if you're not receptive to the art, you'll probably fall asleep. I'd rather not waste my time on such a futile pursuit if the majority can't even appreciate it.
no subject
Is it not something you enjoy doing just to do it?
no subject
[Actually curious here.] And I do enjoy performing the art of my country's history, of course! Rather, it's pretty tiring when you're performing to what may as well be an empty theater.
no subject
[And Souda (besides Chihiro) is apparently the only one that lets her call him by first name.]
I can see that. All the work with no payoff gets dull. But that's why I suggested getting the Kimono Girls involved, see? From what I understand they're a big draw for people--[she adds "and some disgusting men" under her breath]--surely they'd bring in a lot of people to see you whenever you feel like dancing. Foreigners like you and me might not be able to get it but I'm sure the natives of this world would.
...You certainly wouldn't want to dance at a ridiculous place like this anyway, it's full of idiot clowns.
no subject
I guess Big Bro Ishimaru can be a good 'friend' for most people. Why Souda, though? He's a huge creep and a blatant virgin! [Whoa, not so much of a little girl now, huh? Then again... since she's an SHSL, most would deduce she isn't actually an actual nine-year-old.]
That is true, though! Hm... maybe one day, I'll decide to showcase my talents to this world. And put up warnings for anyone who intends to watch just to perv on people and fall asleep during the actual performance...
no subject
[And she...takes that in stride, because she's right, Souda is a pretty blatant virgin and Maka's stereotypes of men are through the roof (to be fair, the stereotype is fact in her world). As for Ishimaru, well, he's...he's Ishimaru.]
I think it's a universal constant that if you meet a boy, he's probably going to be a pervert somehow. It's pathetic, but what can you do besides smack them when they get out of hand? [Kick them out of the window is another option.]
That's right, we have Pokemon to be bouncers. You can add "perverts will be set on fire and sleepers will be shocked."
no subject
[Both a good and bad thing.] I can't smack very hard, so I prefer to kick if they get too sticky. The look on their faces is priceless! [Refer to: Poor Bert in Circusgate 2014 below. He wasn't perving, but that's a good enough example.]
I like how you think, Big Sis Maka! That will help keep the more cowardly, shrinking type out... but we'll still have to get security, just for extra measure.
no subject
[Maka that is a silly thing to say.] You can call on me if you like, I know a few different ways to take down interlopers, and I've got someone else with me too that's just the same. We went to the same school. [Or...are going to the same school, but the Academy isn't here so she can't exactly say that.]
no subject
At least your classmates seem sensible! It's settled then, Big Sis Maka... if I ever put up a performance, I might just reserve a seat for you.
But the warning still applies to you too! You don't seem like a hypocrite, but I'll have to reiterate that. [Schools. Yes. Certainly A Thing.] Who's this other person?
no subject
[As for Kirikou, well...]
His name's Kirikou Rung; about so tall--[she raises her hand slightly above her head]--wears glasses, has burn scars on his arms. He's a meathead and obsessed with dancing, but he's a good guy.
no subject
Ugh, that guy! I met him at Prom. [And danced with him. 8| ] His Western dancing style was decent, I guess. But he was pushy about dancing with me! He threw my Mawile aside and everything!
[Despite the fact Saionji did promise that he could dance if he could get past her Mawile...]
no subject
He takes things literally sometimes. Are you sure you didn't say something like "get past my Mawile first"?
All the boys in my school are dumb, even the "smart" ones. You can't trust them to not go full macho on something.
no subject
[That doesn't make her distaste disappear, though. In fact, it just grows larger. What a stupid pig. >8C ] Well, people in general tend to be stupid at this age, but boy especially! They do mature slowly, after all. It's only to be expected.
no subject
[Pleasant.] And they're controlled exclusively by their libidos, it's totally disgusting. I can't stand them sometimes.
no subject
JUST FOR A BIT]
Really, Big Sis Maka? Then how did the boys even survive? Or did they rely on those more mature with actual critical thinking skills to live? Kyahahah!
no subject
...Canon is a special thing.]
Well, anyway. Don't feel bad about punishing him if he bothers you again, I get pretty annoyed with his insistence on dancing too. [She turns over the doll she got for herself and points to the middle of its back.] If you go here--[she pinches and twists a bit of it quickly; it looks like something that would be painful if it were a person.] And do that, it'll hurt really bad and cause a bruise. Use it wisely.
[Poor Maka, she still doesn't realize she's talking to a tiny sadist.]
no subject
Really? Even I didn't know that... well, I hope I won't have to use it anytime soon. Thanks for the tip, Big Sis Maka!
[WHAT HAVE YOU DONE MAKA] I think I'll go see the other booths now, though. I'll see you later, then?
no subject
[Literally she will believe everyone is good until proven otherwise, unfortunate part of being an idiot shonen protagonist.]
