We're on a train!
Who: Ilya (
dressofheaven) and Kairi (
paopuprincess) with special guest stars Riku (
islandshore) and Sora (
islandsky)
Where: The Magnet Train to Kanto and then the Training Center in Celadon.
When: May 4th, morning to afternoon
Summary: Ilya tags along with Kairi (and Riku) heading home after the circus, intending to take her along on her own journey after they've hung out with Riku and Sora for a while.
Rating: G
Log:
It had taken a little while for everything to get settled down from the circus, but Ilya had more or less expected that. It was, after all, such a big event, and there was so much to do, before and after. Things had finally quieted down though to the point where she felt perfectly alright with leaving the city until it came time for their next performance.
And so, with a heavier purse than she'd had for a while, she headed for the magnet train, eyes peeled for a familiar bit of red hair. She'd agreed to come with Kairi to the training center so they could talk to Riku and Sora, though she planned on heading to Cianwood soon. There was no real hurry though, and she did kind of want to check out the center.
Mostly, she just didn't want to travel alone anymore.

Magnet Train
Only a few more minutes before it leaves the station. Maybe she should just get on and hope Kairi's either there or on her way...]

There you are! I've been looking all over for you!
[Because she totally wasn't the one who was late. Nope.]
no subject
I was going to say the same thing to you! Honestly, I'd started to worry if you were going to miss the train.
Are you ready to go? We don't have much time left.

[She grabs Kairi's hand, utterly uncaring of anyone else who might be around, and runs towards the nearest set of doors on the train.]
You have your pass, right?
no subject
Of course! I was worried about you.
[It had, in fact, been one of the first gifts Riku presented her with when they arrived in Celadon. Being able to explore the two region's major cities was an adventure in itself for the girl, especially considering her team was too weak to take her to a new town otherwise.]

[She has, after all, had the advantage of being around for a while longer. Flashing her pass at the conductor, she darts in, looking around for a seat.]
There, there's still one on our left. [She points it out even as she pulls Kairi to it.] I hope you didn't forget anything!
no subject
[She presents her pass to the conductor, before quickly being dragged to her seat. She gets cozy near the window, squeezing close so that Ilya has room to stretch out.]
no subject
So, that's all taken care of then. Now all we have to do is wait to get to Saffron, then head for Celadon. I haven't flown there yet, so it'll be faster to ride Berserker, but the trip's really short according to the map.

[Now that Ilya is comfortable, Kairi wiggles over to give herself a bit more room. There, now everyone is cozy.]
no subject
[Her eyes look out the window as the train starts up. There's a bit of delay, and then they're moving slowly, forward, forward...]
Hold on, there's going to be a little jolt about now.
no subject
[And she's jerked forward by the train. Woah this is fast.]
no subject
I did warn you. Don't worry, though. Once it gets up to speed the rest of the ride is quite smooth.

Training Center
Thank you for having me. [She curtsies at him, partly out of politeness, mostly because she knows it'll weird him out.]
no subject
Hey, no problem. Been a while since we had any real guests, and besides, you're friends with Kairi. I'd say that makes you pretty trustworthy.

Pickpocketing people of their supplies notwithstanding.] It's been a while since I was in a real home last. Not since I was staying at the Breeding Centre with Saber...
[Well, that was a bittersweet memory right there.] It'll be a nice change from inns and hotels.
no subject
[Heh, welll, he'll go ahead and nudge the door open for them, like a proper gent. For all his sass, Riku can be polite. See?]
no subject
Besides, this place has a ton of rooms. It's just wasted space if nobody's using it.
no subject
Oh, after the opening, I assure you I'm not worried at all about money for some time. Joker is very generous.
no subject
[At any rate, he'll hold the door until the ladies slip inside, like the proper gent that he is... Well, maybe in his dreams.]
no subject
[Snicker.]
no subject
[She grins mischievously, but it doesn't last long as she steps inside and looks around.]
Oh now this is very nice... You really got the best place you could, didn't you?
no subject
[Last thing he needs is to empty out his pockets. A little spending every now and then? Totally fine, but he's gotta keep at least some spare change on hand.
But, at any rate, he'll shift his focus back to Illya. And really, she's right on the money-- the front lobby is wide, with a high ceiling, some comfy chairs clustered around tables off to the side, a vending machine pressed against the wall, stacks of magazines, and a front desk with a conveniently placed PC. A Gardevoir presently mans the desk, and when he sees the group enter, he perks up and waves. The few other visitors in the lobby, mostly locals, seem a bit engrossed in conversation at the moment. Talk of the train situation, the latest news broadcast...
Riku pays them no mind, instead motioning towards a nearby door.]
Want to head somewhere quieter? I can take you guys over to the residential halls if you want.
[He'll give them the choice first, though. If Illya would rather look around, he won't stop her.]
no subject
[She grabs Ilya's hand and starts down the hallway.]
