I...I know. Hinata and the others, they....they saved my life, but.....but I still thought.....you all were beyond saving....y-you know? ....I...I still don't really understand it all....
A-and we still haven't....beaten the Mastermind yet, even. We're still in trouble, Veronica. ....at least....we were.

The person behind all of it was a computer AI emulating Junko Enoshima, who was the mastermind of the first murder game. She took control of the system and tried to kill everyone.
[It's probably going to be a long explanation. She glances at the bench.] Uh, do you want to sit or...?

You guys were supposed to override the system to turn the program off, but she tried to trick you by coming in disguised as Naegi Makoto. Sonia saw through it though.
More people were needed for the override switch, so me and another member of Hinata's group went in to help you.
