[Ren's happy to see that the Pokémon are happier when seeing their trainer. It's been a bit hard, especially with Chasse, to get them feel like home.

[Yes that is how she greets him. Odin's having more luck as Thundaga lets him nuzzle her--who knows how long they'll have. may as well be niceish--but Chasse...well. He's a heavy bear. Lightning gives him a good shove...though all that does is make him turn, one giant arm still looped around her shoulders. No, he's not letting her go anytime soon! Even if this world rips her away, he's going with her!

What sort of trouble? Did Team Rocket come after you again?

Well... more than that actually. I spent a month as their guest because... well, to put it simply: I'm an idiot.

Two of my ex-colleagues threatened to tell the people in Team Rocket that my fiancee had been keeping me safe - as she was from Team Rocket as well. So instead of making it impossible for her to remove the microchip from her starter, I gave her a chance to do so by sacrificing myself.

The result was a month in jail, losing some of my Pokémon, getting dumped on Whirl Islands, being roughened up and having a mad fiancee.

[Well that's. ...Noble. Lightning sighs through her teeth, pinching the bridge of her nose as if to ward off a headache. Chasse grumbles and tilts his head, not getting why Trainer's suddenly so annoyed, but he stays where he is as Lightning lowers her hand, looking Ren dead in the eye.]

[Ren nods slowly, trying to keep the eye contact. Telling all this to someone who's helped him so much... is a bit embarrassing.]

Yeah. She's no longer a member.

Good. [A deep breath--she needs to calm down there's nothing she can do about it now--then she slowly, very slowly, eases up on that look. Just a little.]

And you've kept your distance from Rocket since then? No more sticking your nose into trouble?

I've been free for two weeks, but those two weeks I've spent away from them... and I plan to. Of course, I will still be part of the PGC, but there are other ways to help there than direct contact.

[Well, there's a surprise! The PGC's still active? She'd have thought--no. Of course it is. There were plenty of good people still around when she left. One of them must have taken up the torch. A wash of pride swells in her chest, but she does her best to hide it.]

There are. And it wouldn't be the first time there wasn't any inside information from the team. [she cocks her head to the side, one eyebrow higher than the other.] You just focus on not needing someone to rescue you again, alright?

[He laughs a bit at that. Quite harsh... but also true. He's needed quite a lot of help.]

I'll try my best not to get into any problems from now on.

You'd better. She won't be as lenient as I was. [She being Thundaga, who is...currently nuzzling Odin. For once in her life she's actually being affectionate. Maybe she knows they can't stay.

Still, Lightning hopes the warning comes across as what it is: a warning. Thundaga does have her mean streak when she needs to use it.]

I'll keep that in mind... I've had a Zebstrika headbutt to my side a few times. Not very pleasant.
