Log:

There's something strange, a sudden change
Around, all across the sky;
A change of scene as The Machine
Goes wild, and no one knows why

Everyone will say it's a great display
And we brought it for you
Cynthia and Lance set off Nukes From France™
Now you know what to do:

WE'RE KICKING OFF A ROUTE FOURTH WALL
BRING EVERY JOURNAL, ONE AND ALL
HAVE A PARTY, BREAK DOWN ALL THE WALLS
'Cause it's our game's anni-ver-er-sa-ry
And we're, so ha-a-a-ppy!

Well, I've never heard nor seen these "Eidolons" before, but we did have to survive each summon's onslaught. Not a simple task, I assure you.

[Granted, it helped to apply elemental resistances. Accessories, support abilities... Anything to get the job done.]

So these creatures undergo metamorphosis through battle? My, that's certainly nothing like the monsters in Luxendarc nor summons. The closest thing I can think of are the job asterisks-- become proficient enough, and you'll obtain new skills that can turn the tide in any fight.

I don't doubt it. The stories I could tell about battling Leviathan or Bahamut...

[He's sighing, but he also sounds disturbingly nostalgic.]

That's also the case for nearly every Pokémon. They learn new attacks as they grow, and sometimes they evolve along the way. Or do so twice. Some even have the opportunity to choose their new form, as long as they meet the necessary criteria.
