Who: Isaac McDougal (
glaciates) and Solf J Kimblee (
explosivecombat)
Where: A florist's shop in Goldenrod
When: 6/16, evening
Summary: Isaac discovers just what Kimblee's job is. Stupidity ensues.
Rating: PG? PG-13?? Probably the former but who knows? I'll edit it if it changes!
Log:
[Isaac's getting used to Goldenrod. For most people this wouldn't be some kind of accomplishment (well, unless they were from a world without large cities like this), but Isaac's a bit of a special case. He's been paranoid about cities for practically seven years, and after what happened back in Central right before he arrived here... well, Goldenrod wasn't his ideal place to stay. Still, he's been hesitant to leave since Kimblee's here, not to mention the fact that he's still training his Pokémon.
Just because he's getting used to the city doesn't mean he's going to want to live here permanently, however. Isaac spends most of his time in the Team Rocket base, training himself and his Pokémon. When he does go out, it's usually because he's working in the department store (which is something he really hates but he needs some source of income that isn't Team Rocket's money). Today is a bit of an exception. He's actually just going out to explore, and now that it's getting later in the day he's decided to head back to the base. It's as he's heading back that something catches his eye and Isaac stops, turning to stare at a florist's shop he wasn't even aware was here. The shop isn't what drew his attention however, it was a very familiar figure in the window.
Isaac doesn't move for a moment, merely staring at the other man, trying to work out what Kimblee would be doing in a florist's shop. He probably shouldn't interrupt Kimblee, but that's only a brief thought before Isaac enters the shop anyway.]
Kimblee?

Kimblee?

Who is, to his knowledge, neither.
Kimblee just kind of offers him that strange wide-eyed stare for a moment before he seems to compose himself, and he goes back to working at the arrangement he's been putting together in the window. His gloves are black today, as are his clothes; the shirt is buttoned up the entire way, though there are some bandages just visible under the collar, around his throat, if you know where to look and he tips his head just the right way.]
Isaac, good evening.
[His words are light, casually so.]
Can I help you, or are you visiting me?

[Well, he's as eloquent as always.]
You work here?
[That... seems to be the logical conclusion and he's really not sure what other conclusions could be drawn from this, but that doesn't change how strange this is.]
I guess I'm visiting you? I mean I don't need to get flowers or anything.

[He's going to be playing with those flowers for a while, if you don't mind.]
I've been working in shops like this since...oh, February or so, I believe.

[...to put it lightly.]

[It's why he's not working there, after all!]
So do you uh... like working here?

But it's fine, I suppose. Why?

...That was the holiday you were talking about, right?

[...MOVING ON.]
So what brings you out here today, hm?
