It's still raining, but at least it's a town

Summary: A pair of newbies finally make it to their first proper town. Also, still raining cats and dogs.

Traveling through the rain, while beneficial to their Pokemon, hadn't exactly done much for either Red or Royce. So finally seeing the town, however small it was, had brought a bit of relief.

There hadn't exactly been any time wasted before a inn was found and that was that.

But now Red has found herself fairly cleaned up and changed into her spare set of clothing that had been in her backpack... Although she's kept the jacket she brought with her. Luna is still at her side, now joined by a certain little Starly riding along her back. Her journey isn't far- just the room next door.

Knock knock, Royce.

Someone told me they all do. Weren't you the one who was supposed to gather information, Royce? Yet she's the one who got all the advice about ledges and Jigglypuff muggers.

Johto didn't even see her face but they still found the lady in distress. Impressive.

She'll just wait to see how he gets it out, however. That's something she's been wondering as well.

It's hard to talk to people, okay. He's trying. He frowns and tries a few things, until finally the tray sitting next to the computer lights up, leaving an egg sitting on it. He stares at it for a moment and picks it up gently. Magnemite makes happy buzzing noises, and he shuts the computer down.

He looks a little... well. Shell-shocked.

Much better reaction than his first one, although also somewhat concerning. Red taps his shoulder, trying to see if she can get him out of it.

Considering what she went through in Fairview to get to him, this is... somehow less mindbending for her.

[me_first]

He shakes his head slightly. He's... going to have to be careful with this. "I should keep this warm." Royce carefully folds his jacket around it, before nodding. "Right... I should ask about a job."

He makes a face somewhat like if he smells something rotten, and stands up. "I'll... go find someone to speak to about some kind of employment, some kind of job. You can use the computer if you would like..."

[ladywithnovoice]

Red just nods, stepping aside to give him a bit of room. Her fingers click against the keys of her 'Gear. Good luck. It can't be anything too bad. If nothing else, work is preferable to running out of money. Besides, who knows? They might learn something by sticking around here near the center.

[me_first]

... It takes a bit, but Royce returns, looking somewhat tired. "I can... start working tomorrow. Sorting files. They said I have to... work at least five days before I leave town, otherwise the police will... be called."

At least it seems like it's decent money.

Poor Royce. Red isn't sure if it's the weather, the situation, or just too much people contact, but she decides to take a bit of pity on him. Shifting the own egg that's now in her possession, she sends him a message.

You should go back to the inn. You look tired. There's something I still want to check out.

"... Fine. Let me know if you need... something." He's not sure what he can do to help her other than to talk, but yes.

Red just gets up and pats his shoulder. Have fun with your egg. comes soon after. She will escort him to the door and watch just to make sure he gets to the inn alright.
