family reunions and awkward conversations
Who: Alphonse, Edward, Winry, and Scar
Where: A little ways outside of Cherrygrove on Route 30
When: August 22
Summary: The Great Meeting of the Dorkuses (a.k.a. Winry and Ed are picking up Al and Scar bummed a ride)
Rating: PG13 for Ed's mouth
Log:
Alphonse was somewhat antsy as he set out down the road after packing up his camping supplies. Today should be the day that his brother, Winry and Scar finally meet up with him, and he was all but hopping for joy to finally be with family again. Travel on the road wasn't hard at all compared to some things he and Ed had endured making their way to whatever back-water town Roy had pointed them to, leaving Al to worry and fret and anticipate with very little to distract him.
Eddie roamed up and down the path, sniffing out any odd scents and keeping a close eye on Alphonse, who continued to be amused at just how accurate that name was turning out to be. He certainly hadn't shown any aversion to battling anytime they were accosted on Route 29, and certainly was as attached to his trainer as his namesake was. Clara, meanwhile, perched sleepily on Al's shoulder and barely stirred, quite content to simply nap a while longer until trouble came to call. Al just hoped it wouldn't be following on his family's incoming heels!

Well, despite the weirdness, she was still excited to see Al. It didn't matter that he was from the other Amestris, he was still Al and that's what mattered. It just meant more catching up! She hadn't seen Al in this world for a long time - almost felt like forever, just like it always felt when the boys weren't around.
"We'll be there soon..." Which was why Winry was starting to get worried about landing. It wouldn't be their first time since they needed to make a few stops on the way. It was a long way, so everyone needed to rest and not just the pokemon - even though they had switched them a bit too. Well, Winry herself would have no problem with it (you know, landing), she had been flying here for over two years and her pokemon were well trained for that part too. But those two weren't so experienced in it, and the pokemon weren't used to them either, so anything could happen. Well, it was possible that Al was about to get a good show about how to not land with a flying-type pokemon even if you're Ed
or Scar, MAYBE. "Very soon. Like, almost right now soon, so get ready and don't do anything stupid." Ed, she probably meant you with that a lot more than anyone else here.no subject
They'd meet Alphonse soon. He might have been from the "other Amestris" but Al was still Al. That fact wouldn't change. The fact that he was excited didn't change either.
So excited, in fact, that Ed was only able to hear the words about being there soon. Sorry Winry, your warnings were left unheard. "Alright, let's speed things up, then... Let's go!"
Too bad Ed didn't know how to navigate that well. Dragonite might have been able to do that, but trainers orders were what they were so. Though the Pokémon had enough sense to stop before hitting a tree branch. Unfortunately this came as a surprise for the overexcited Ed...
"GAAAAAAAAAAAAAA...!" and off he went to the tree because his grip didn't hold wit a sudden stop. Did someone want a good show?

He did, however, jump into action when Ed went careening for a tree. Scar urged the Tropius forward to assess the damage.
"Ed?!"
Damn fool.

Really, he should have known better than to expect this to be a calm meeting.
Al rushed forward as well, glancing up at the sky to see where the others are. Oh, of course Ed rushed ahead like an idiot! At least the big...dragon? Seemed to be unharmed from the maneuver. "Brother, are you okay?"

What did she expect to see? Well, that was one of the most likely options and now he'd done it. Good job, dummy. Of course he was excited, who wasn't? But that just -- wow, Ed.
Her Altaria landed to the ground first, letting Winry get back on her feet before the bird flew near the tree too. "You better get down from there like some kind of a circus monkey, or else --!" She wasn't going to throw a wrench though. She might have accidentally hit a pokemon with it when he was hiding somewhere in that tree.
Winry gave a sheepish smile to Al. "I think he's okay, he keeps getting into situations here..." Besides, he had to be okay to meet Al anyway, right?

Hearing Scar worried was a little... odd. Then again, he'd probably have to get used to that. Al worrying was normal... and of course he'd have to get down by himself, according to Winry.
"I'm fine and I'll get down soon!" he said while trying to grab onto something to climb to the tree branch he was hanging from. This might take a while.

"Damn fool..." he murmured under his breath as he and Tropius landed by the tree. Some things never changed, even in different universes. His attention soon turned to Al, though he maintained a polite distance from the three, for now.

He glanced up at Ed's struggling, then heaved another sigh before nudging Clara. "You need to find another perch for a bit, sweetie." She chirped sleepily and fluttered over onto Winry's shoulder, leaving Al free to go start climbing his way up the tree to give Ed a bit of help. "Hold still, Brother, you're gonna fall out and hit your head doing that!"
Sorry, Scar, he'll greet you in a bit here.
SCREAMING, I KIND OF FORGOT IT WAS MY TURN. SO SORRY!
She wasn't calling any of her pokemon back to their balls though. Just in case they needed to help the idiot, though seemed like Al was going to help him too. But who knew, they didn't seem to mind being around for a while longer either. Skye the Altaria looked up as soon as Clara arrived. Winry gave them a laugh. "Oh, hello. I'm sure they'll get down from there in no time, so let's just wait here." She grinned.
Winry glanced at Scar. Had he said something...? She looked back at her Altaria. Still a weird situation.. Even weirder with the boys in the three and her alone on the ground with him? Yup. So, that polite distance thing? That's her plan too for now.
