I'd Make A Wonder Trade For You

Who: Anyone in [community profile] route_29!
Where: Standing in front of your PC!
When: The Week of September 7 through 13
Summary: A mod-hosted venue for players to thread out trades of Gen VI Pokemon!
Rating: G unless otherwise specified (so please specify if necessary)!
Log:

HOW TO USE THIS LOG:

• We've provided seven headers, one for each day, swarm, and location!

• Characters currently in the area who are offering to send out swarm Pokemon on that day should respond to that header with offers/an IC starter of choice/etc!

• Characters who have incorporated an offer to send out Pokemon in one of their own posts are also invited to link to their posts on this log if they so desire!

• Characters looking for swarm Pokemon respond to available starters and thread from there!

• Threads completed on this log do count towards AC, provided they meet our usual standards!

• Please try to keep threads reasonably on-topic; while we're in no way discouraging characters from making friends and building CR on this log, please utilize network posts or IC inboxes for threads purely relating to general gameplay conversations.

• For general information about the swarm plot, check here!

• For this week's swarm calendar, check here!

• For moderator questions about the swarm plot, check here!

Maybe I'd take the whole situation better if the camel's back hadn't been broken last Monday.

[That made the blueness look positively normal.]

And since you've just inadvertently accepted my one trade condition, congratulations! You are now the proud trainer of a lovely blue lobster. Would you like it in a great or ultra ball?
enjoymyatelier: maybe he should check the foundations, come to think of it. (red car. good point.)

...no, it was the Tuesday, for me. Raining cats I could handle, but raining cats and dogs? Idioms are far too much for my sensibilities.

...Anyway, Great Ball would match the color nicely enough, so I'll ask for that. Though, the reds would clash a bit, thinking about it...

[shouldn't have presented that question, he'll be debating the aesthetic for hours]

Just be glad we haven't yet seen camels with humps made of straw.

[He's not even sure he's kidding about that.]

Maybe you could paint the red over with yellow? There has to be specialty paint for pokéballs somewhere out there, because I'd bet anything that the market exists.

No, that niche seems to be occupied by the camels with humps made of volcanoes. Then again, there's no shortage of cats, so who knows.

[...he'd be so mad, though.]

...you know, I really should have thought of that before... thinking about it, that really wouldn't make a terrible art project in general.

Though, I suppose I'd have to see how it works out with the PCs first.

If they can have three turtles and half a thousand birds, they can have two camels.

[If they can have ice cream they can have two camels, really.]

Considering what we can shove in there I wouldn't worry too much about a few square centimetres of paint, but better safe than sorry.

True, I suppose, but I'm really hoping that isn't the case.

And, well, I know, but you would think it'd be far more popular if being converted into data didn't ruin it somehow.

For it to be popular, people would have to know it's possible...

[Taking advantage of his distractions, one of the Claunchers tries to pinch his wrist. He barely avoids it.]

...And they'd have to find Pokémon that almost but not quite match the color scheme of one of the balls.
enjoymyatelier: but what would that even do. (gradients of babylon...?)

[personal profile] enjoymyatelier 2014-09-16 01:41 am (UTC)(link)
Well, I'm sure I'm not the first person to get tired of the normal Pokeball colors. There are a few interesting ones out there, to be sure, but they're generally much more difficult to track down and more expensive than the mass produced ones.

The ones that can be made in Azalea, mean? Those look to be more trouble than they're worth, really, and I'm not even sure any of them match these lobsters.
enjoymyatelier: actually, it totally will. (aha! a plan that will not end in failure)

[personal profile] enjoymyatelier 2014-09-18 12:01 pm (UTC)(link)
They're more interesting than the usual ones, at least, and they tend to have unusual advantages over regular Pokeballs. I'll admit, I have more of an appreciation for handcrafted work anyway, so they're worth it for a change of pace.

...but you're right that none of them actually match that well.

Therefore, a mere mass-produced ball will have to do today. You'll get it quickly, along with your brand new lobster.
enjoymyatelier: have fun storming the castle, kayneth (a totally honorable mage duel)

That's fine, then. I'll report back to you on how well the customization goes, if it does at all.

I'll appreciate that, thank you. Good luck!
