HOW TO USE THIS LOG:

I'd prefer to avoid that as much as possible.

Ah, a discerning customer. That's one difficult request, but I'll do my best.

[Apparently, his best involves shoving his other hand in the middle of the pile and looking for the one that tries to pinch him slightly more slowly than the others.]

[...he notices this but doesn't say anything. Greed's mellowed out a bit since his arrival. If the guy isn't going to give him one of the calmer ones, well...

He'll deal with that, he supposes.]

I suppose people might complain if you put rubber bands on those claws.

[That is one of the calmer ones, at least as far as Ash can tell.

...Okay, so maybe being grabbed by the tail by some weirdo isn't very conducive to calmness.]

The locals normally would, but in this case I think they'd be willing to make an exception.

[Maybe it'll come down once Greed gets into the habit of carrying it around like it's a cat...]

If they complain it's only because they haven't been pinched yet, I'm sure.

...Which would be because they're not throwing themselves at these like the rest of us. I guess that makes them the smart ones, even if they don't know how painful these can be.

...you know, that's a good point. I suppose they just don't want to bother with the ones that might be a bit of a pain.

Or they're using us as guinea pigs, to see how dangerous those new species can be.

That seems a possibility, doesn't it?

And who could blame them? We're curious enough to go poke dangerous creature unprompted, and there's a high chance we'll be gone before we can start complaining if this causes issues in the long run. It's the perfect situation for them.

True enough, but most of them are hardly dangerous creatures.

Indeed, but what about the ones not covered by 'most'?

...well, they probably know better than to mess with them.

Too bad they're not sharing that particular information with us. I'd love to hear what they consider too dangerous to deal with.

Whatever it is, it must be incredibly dangerous considering they're fine with horses on fire and giant alligators that walk on two legs.

...It'd have to be a giant two-legged burning alligator with poisonous fangs and claws, at the very least.
