[It's better than nothing. Meanwhile, that one on his shoulder seems insistent on trying to get his attention or perhaps convince him to let her stay, pressing her face up against his again with a trill.]

All right! Four perfume birds, please! [ Hat-bird and boot-bird chirp questioningly. ] Yes, you two are included! But I think you'd better keep that one [ she indicates the bird currently rubbing against Nagi's face ] - I think she's adopted you, mister!

[ Wait a second. Mimi knew she was forgetting something. ]

What's your name, by the way? I should at least know who I have to thank for all these cute birds!

[...Look, he's not promising anything, but for the time being he just continues to ignore the bird. If Nagi's Pikachu was out right now, he would be able to relate. Nagi never pays enough attention to him. B|

He stiffens slightly when Mimi asks for his name, his arms still hanging at his sides as his hands ball into light fists.]

[ Mimi completely misses his body language. ] Tensai? As in "genius"? Wow, that's kind of a weird name! But then again, I've met someone here named Greed-san, so I guess it's not that weird after all! It's nice to meet you, Tensai-san! I'm Mimi Tachikawa!

[Nagi's expression twitches as his teeth grit hard behind his lips.

...Yes. ...Genius.

He stares at her for a moment more before nodding curtly and looking away, back down at the many little birds hopping around their feet.]

Go on then, take the ones you want.

[Take them, take them and go.]

[ Once again, Mimi is oblivious. Sorry, Nagi. These birds are just so distractingly cute. Mimi sizes them up, judging the remaining ones on terms of cuteness and scent, then beckons to two who obligingly hop forward. Mimi scoops them up and turns to Nagi, smiling brightly over her armful of birds. ]

Thank you so much, Tensai-san! If there's anything I can do for you in the future, give me a call, okay?

[ The birds chirp in a chorus of agreement. ]

[Nagi watches the girl quietly as she takes the birds into her arms, though there are so many around it seems like the ones she takes are very quickly replaced by more. The one on his shoulder still seems dead set on staying where she is, chirping softly at her friends as Mimi picks them up.]

Mmm.

[The response he gives is more of a grunt than actual words, noncommittal and quiet.

Rest assured, he probably won't be calling.]
