[He's already got one finger up in the classic "just a second" pose, and without much ado he tosses out a flurry of Pokeballs, calling out his team of Kadabras; suddenly, with some surreptitious psychic monitoring of his surroundings, "Dietrich" looks a lot more comfortable, and returns smiling.]

That should handle things.

[He's stepped out to a private, secure location; he's on the Rocket channel; he's got his Psychics in place to watch for trouble.

...Yeah, that's secure enough.]

I've made a few of your type of toys before. Granted, my experience is more in function over form — my previous employers were usually more interested in outcomes, as opposed to the work itself.

I do building, setting, and detonating; a lot of my repertoire involves camouflaging them for maximum effect and fallout. I also improvise — like I said, my focus usually lies in what gets done, not how it looks.

But that doesn't mean I'm not interested, by any means.

No wonder Dist spoke so highly of you; he's a very difficult man to please, so I knew you had to be something special.

[Crossing his legs, Kato leans back in his chair and folds his hands in his lap. At the sight of Psychic Pokemon, his Lunatone has come into view from where he was hiding off to the side, floating around Kato's head and generally looking fascinated by the conversation.

...as...Lunatone tend to do, what with the staring. Yes.]

I may be able to interest you, then; I seek to cause the greatest amount of damage I can with my explosives, although I do like to have a bit of artistic flair involved with it. I don't tend to focus on the means to an end so much as I enjoy the entire experience, from setting the bomb, threatening the general population and watching as they scramble to do something about it. Then, of course, the explosive conclusion...it's all part of the fun, for me. Some might call it sadistic, but we all have different tastes.

[Some people have knitting as a hobby, some have explosives as a hobby! It's totally normal.]

To me, it's just not fun if we merely aim to just 'blow something up'. It's so...boring, so pedestrian. I like to do things with a bit of flair, Mr Jaeger.

I like to think of my work as art. Do you think you could do the same?

Let me put it this way: if you're the maestro, then my specialty is managing the opera house.

[He flashes a brilliant grin.]

Every great performance involves some behind-the-scenes action. Sometimes that action gets a little technical; sometimes it gets a little messy. Either way, it needs to get done 'cause the show must go on — but that's no reason to trouble the artist, now, is it?

[That actually makes Kato laugh softly, and he returns that grin.]

You're quite the smooth talker, Mr Jaeger. I like it - and what you're saying. I take it that you don't mind performing this sort of work? It would be most appreciated.

[....ah.]

There is one thing, however; I like my performances to involve, ah....victims. The more there are, the more magnificent the piece.

If that's going to be a problem for you, I understand. I thought I should mention it up-front, however.

I like making things possible, doctor. So much the better when it's for someone who likes to push the envelope.

[To his credit, that smile hasn't shifted at all.]

As for that other little problem, well. I don't foresee it being a problem at all.

[...Though he does look unusually amused at that particular remark, for some reason.

That said, I do sometimes work with an associate whose tolerance may differ from mine. Rest assured, if that ever becomes a consideration, you'll be advised with plenty of time for alternative arrangements to be made.

That's fine. I know my tastes are...unique, even amongst our little band of miscreants.

[Although it is nice to know that you'll go along with things. It's so hard to find decent help these days.]

Just make sure to communicate with me. I always have my Gear on me, and I tend to work odd hours, so chances are I'll respond quickly enough. Is this associate of yours also a member of the Team?

That's right. He's my subordinate; you know how the chain of command goes. I try to make things go smooth for him, and in return I get reliable help whenever I need it without the nuisance of trading around favors.

Everybody wins, right?

Of course. I do the same for my superior - more than just answering his phonecalls, anyway. I'm sure it won't be a problem.

Your subordinate is welcome to introduce himself as well; if you trust him, I'm sure he'll be worth our while.

[Smirking to himself, Kato rests his elbows on the arms of his chair and offers a small nod.]
