Well... we haven't challenged anyone yet. We're still working on training, but I think we should be ready for Falkner soon. We've been heading back towards Violet City over the past while and we just got back.

It took us some time to get ready to challenge Falkner, too but I'm sure as long as you're prepared then you should be fine.

[ Have a soft well meaning grunt from his Houndoom that's taking a nap nearby. ]

Looks like Shiva remembers it too.

Yeah, I think I'm mostly going to rely on Volts - my Blitzle. He's been getting a lot of useful attacks. I thought maybe I could ride him, too... but I think he's still too small. Maybe after he evolves.

I think you'll do just fine.

But I hope you don't mind my asking... any particular reason you've decided to take on the gym challenge?

... I want to be able to fly. I'm not really interested in any of the other badges.

[ Ooh, that's a new one. He hasn't heard that one yet. ]

We all have our reasons, huh? Do you have a pokemon that knows the move yet or the HM, at least?

No, but I bet Regal can learn it, at least when he evolves. I don't think I'd keep my weight on him right now, since he mostly rides me.

I think that's something all birdlike pokemon can learn. But the reason why they can't carry us until we have the badge is something we haven't figured out yet.

But it's good to hear things look like they're coming along okay.

I'm trying not to question it too much. I like not having headaches.

It's... something I'm not too keen trying to figure out again but I did promise someone I'd look into it as soon as I have the badge and the HM necessary.
