Who: Anyone in [community profile] route_29!
Where: Standing in front of your PC!
When: September 28 through 30
Summary: A mod-hosted venue for players to thread out trades of Gen VI Pokemon!

Log:

HOW TO USE THIS LOG:

• We've provided three headers, one for each day, swarm, and location!

• Characters currently in the area who are offering to send out swarm Pokemon on that day should respond to that header with offers/an IC starter of choice/etc!

• Characters who have incorporated an offer to send out Pokemon in one of their own posts are also invited to link to their posts on this log if they so desire!

• Characters looking for swarm Pokemon respond to available starters and thread from there!

• Threads completed on this log do count towards AC, provided they meet our usual standards!

• Please try to keep threads reasonably on-topic; while we're in no way discouraging characters from making friends and building CR on this log, please utilize network posts or IC inboxes for threads purely relating to general gameplay conversations.

• For general information about the swarm plot, check here!

• For this week's swarm calendar, check here!

• For moderator questions about the swarm plot, check here!

Ugh. Like my panda? I swear, I look away for five minutes, and that guy's picking fights with all the wrong Pokémon. And if I try to leave my cat behind, she ends up--

[Oh, speak of the devil. That sure is a female Meowstic looming behind him. Glaring judgmentally. One look over the shoulder, and Riku jumps.]

...Well, you get the idea. How many of these guys did you end up with, anyway? Think I might've gotten more than I bargained for.

This would be my tenth. Up until yesterday, I was quite reasonable in my acquisitions, and also quite lucky to have found pleasant individuals to capture.

[The 'up until yesterday' part might or might not have ruined both of those aspects.]

Gee, I wish I had your level of self-control. I've caught about twice the amount of Pokémon you grabbed.

[Yes, twice. Because, darn it, new things to train that are new and intriguing. How could he refuse?]
paladinlost: (mischievous)

[personal profile] paladinlost 2014-10-05 03:27 pm (UTC)(link)
I've no doubt your household will be very lively for the next few weeks. Perhaps even too lively. How is your current team reacting to the sudden influx of unknown little ones?

[His own has been relatively enthusiastic at the thought of new exotic siblings, but then again he's gently hammered family values in their heads for years.]
islandshore: (yeah right)

[personal profile] islandshore 2014-10-05 08:33 pm (UTC)(link)
It's kinda a mixed bag. Probably helps that the Training Center's so huge. Means the old timers can slink off into their own corners.

But also means the newbies have a lot more space to stir trouble, and Phantom's been trying to rope in my pumpkin and stump ghosts into his stupid schemes.

[Which is never fun to deal with. If he wasn't such a talented battler, Riku probably would've released him a long time ago.]
paladinlost: (err)

[personal profile] paladinlost 2014-10-07 03:18 am (UTC)(link)
I can see how that would be problematic, especially since Ghost-types are not usually stopped by mere walls and basic ethics. Do they have any better examples to follow that could counter his influence?

[The role of ghost counter is not an easy one, he knows, but surely with such a large team...]
islandshore: (o rly?)

[personal profile] islandshore 2014-10-07 09:56 pm (UTC)(link)
A few of them. I could probably have Flare keep them busy for a while. And if not him, then maybe Slash.

[Though that may lead to him trying to teach them the wonders of civilized lifestyles.]

Don't you have a few ghosts?
paladinlost: (thoughtful)

[personal profile] paladinlost 2014-10-07 11:41 pm (UTC)(link)
I do, yes. Avenger was always one of my more troublesome team members, but luckily both Lia and Ice-bro are reserved and polite young ladies. Otherwise, if the three of them were to decide to work together...

[He shudders at the thought.]
islandshore: (cocky)

[personal profile] islandshore 2014-10-13 03:13 am (UTC)(link)
So do the others keep him in line? Somebody's gotta put a leash on those troublemakers.

[Or troublemaker in this case.]
paladinlost: (curious)

[personal profile] paladinlost 2014-10-13 03:49 pm (UTC)(link)
That would be Rosie's duty. Or rather, her frying pan's. Effective against both mischievous ghosts and overly-amorous Dittos.

[Sheila would be proud.]
islandshore: (amused)

[personal profile] islandshore 2014-10-14 02:27 am (UTC)(link)
...She uses a frying pan?

[Pffft. He starts to laugh. That's priceless.]
paladinlost: (happy)

[personal profile] paladinlost 2014-10-14 02:37 am (UTC)(link)
Don't laugh. I know a queen who, when her kingdom was attacked, used one to achieve the highest kill count on either side. In any other world, Rosie would have broken both of their skulls long ago.

[The fact that they probably don't have skulls in the first place doesn't matter.]
islandshore: (o rly?)

[personal profile] islandshore 2014-10-15 06:18 am (UTC)(link)
So if they're that picky about weapons here, why don't they ban blunt objects while they're at it? Head trauma's still a pretty big threat.

[Now he almost wants to try it. Just imagine: A Charizard swoops down, hits you with a pan.]
paladinlost: (sighing)

[personal profile] paladinlost 2014-10-16 12:32 pm (UTC)(link)
Quite possibly because to ban blunt weapons, they'd have to ban everything. I know for a fact that it is possible to kill humanoid monsters with a bottle of cologne; that opens all sorts of possibilities.

[Ahhh, those war memories.]
islandshore: (Wow you're dense)

[personal profile] islandshore 2014-10-18 06:20 am (UTC)(link)
...

[Hold on. He needs a second to soak this in.]

You've killed monsters with cologne.

[But how?]
paladinlost: (meh)

[personal profile] paladinlost 2014-10-18 05:37 pm (UTC)(link)
I have not; the matching dress did not fit me, thank goodness. But I've seen it with my own eyes, and it was both horrifying and fascinating at once.

[He sounds almost pained as he says it.]

[personal profile] islandshore 2014-10-20 03:24 am (UTC)(link)
Wonder what'd happen if you used it on a Pokémon...

[Cecil, what have you done? He is almost tempted to experiment the next time Quake misbehaves.]
paladinlost: (lost in thought)

[personal profile] paladinlost 2014-10-20 05:23 pm (UTC)(link)
Don't. The shame and horror would surely kill them, or at least breaks their spirit to the point that they'd never be able to battle again.

[...Actually, that could be what felled those Mannikins in the first place...]
islandshore: (Rival Riku wants to battle!)

[personal profile] islandshore 2014-10-21 06:46 am (UTC)(link)
You do realize that makes me want to try it even more, right? Maybe I'll go buy some extra strength cologne for the occasion.

[This can only end in disaster, but at this point, he doesn't care.]

[personal profile] paladinlost 2014-10-22 02:28 am (UTC)(link)
...You might want to favor a particularly heavy bottle over one with a strong scent, for additional power. Blunt trauma is a most effective weapon.

[Oh dear, this sounds like a disaster in the making. Perhaps he shouldn't mention that the matching shield was some sort of card.]
islandshore: (determined)

[personal profile] islandshore 2014-10-22 04:44 pm (UTC)(link)
Come to think of it, I could just as easily grab some pepper spray to throw them off guard and then bash their skulls.

[Okay, so his phrasing migt've been a bit violent, but Cecil's right! Blunt trauma is effective. It's been his go-to tactic for months.]
paladinlost: (thoughtful)

[personal profile] paladinlost 2014-10-26 10:48 pm (UTC)(link)
That'd not leave your target with the same sort of shame, but pure efficiency should be valued over that in the first place.

[Even if none of their current available option are quite efficient enough for his tastes.]
