HOW TO USE THIS LOG:

...Wait. Did you say one of your Pokémon can talk?

Technically, all Psychic types can with their telepathy. I've just got two that figured out how to actually speak... and all because of a stupid bet.

[There's an exasperated sigh, coupled with a shake of the head. Yeah, it was... interesting hearing them go at it for all those months.]

Wow, really? I need to find a psychic type! I think my Chira might be one [ she pulls her Espurr onto her lap ], but I'm not sure, since my PokéGear doesn't seem to know anything about her! Chira, can you talk?

[ She gets a head tilt and a "purr?" in response. ]

A bet? What kind of bet was it? That sounds like a really interesting story!

It's kinda like they're talking in your heads-- at least, that's been my experience. But maybe it's not all of them. It's a tough call.

[He shrugs and then immediately covers his face with his hands. Hoo boy...]

Basically, Slash bet that he could learn to speak like a human before Ace despite her being in the Human-Like Egg Group. She mostly played a long to humor him.

I dunno! I think Chira might just be shy! But I really do need to find a Pokémon that can talk to me! I mean, there is my bat, Murasaki, but all she does is write haiku! It's kind of weird, honestly. But in a cool way!

Wow! So they learned to talk just by trying really hard? That's awesome! [ She addresses her Pokémon offscreen. ] You guys should totally try that too! I mean, only if you want to, of course!

Haiku? Well, that's a first.

[Heh. Could be weirder, though. He's seen Pokémon pick up some pretty crazy hobbies.]

The thing is, they aren't gonna pick it up overnight. Took slash about a year before he got it all down. Before then, you could barely understand half of what he was trying to say.

I know! I just named her Murasaki because she's purple - I didn't know she'd be into poetry too! I think she's got a real talent for it! She's still young and all, but she's definitely better than I am! [ She giggles. ]

That's still really cool, though! I bet it would take a lot of hard work if you were a Pokémon who was learning to talk! I'd love to try talking to Slash sometime! He sounds fascinating!

And are you sure you want to talk to him? Once he gets started, he never shuts up. Doesn't help that he's got an ego the size of Jupiter.

Oh, it's okay! I still think it would be a really neat experience! Besides, I'm sure he's not as bad as all that! I bet he's just fine to talk to!
