7th Act - Boys and girls of every age
Who: Come one, come all!
Where: Goldenrod, the Eve's Garden Circus
When: The 11th - 13th
Summary: Just like always, the Circus is busy as usual... But with a bit of a spooky twist added on thanks to their current partnership with a certain Haunted House.
Rating: PG
Log:

The Circus is always bustling with activity, even on the days when the shows in the Big Top aren't on. There's plenty of stalls to enjoy besides those, after all! Games, and food, and stalls with all sorts of interesting things for sale. For those living in Goldenrod or passing through, it's no doubt quickly settled itself as a regular scene.
On the 11th, however... Just as always when the shows are promised to happen, the Circus is more bustling than usual and today there's a twist. On the 11th, those walking past the Circus' gates will find themselves in QUITE the different atmosphere. Genuine spider webs are strung across the stalls, skulls strung up in them that seem to clack their teeth at passerby. legions of pumpkins are sprawled throughout the area. At night, and on the foggy day of the 13th, their eerie glow lights up twisting paths throughout the circus grounds. Even quite a few of the workers seem to have gotten into the spirit (possibly at their boss' badgering), and wear outfits from the simple masks to the more complex things.
Beyond the change in atmosphere, however, there are still the things that are usually about! Food, games, and stalls selling various knickknacks can all be found relatively easy although they're joined by a few other themed goods. There's also, of course, the show that will be playing three times a day in the big tent proper!
One notable addition is what appears to be a small station of sorts with a rather ominous carriage that stops at it every now and then pulled by what appear to be a pair of Rapidash... only colored darkly with bones painted across their heads and what might be actual skulls acting as face covers. Well then! Perhaps you might be interested in letting it take you to Jack's Haunted House?
So relax. Have fun! And cross your fingers that you're not terrified of scary clowns and giant spiders.

Food!
Funnel cakes, cotton candy, fried pickles... Those kind of easy to carry treats can be found easily. There are also more filling things, like fish and chips or grilled squid! Just to rub your face more into the fact that it's October, there are numerous Halloween treats as well. What better season to eat caramel apples, after all? There are also spooky sundaes being served, pumpkin pie, cute puddings, hot chocolate, popsicles, little Litwick cakes, spiderchip cookies, and things like gummy teddiursas the size of your head. There are even delightful bentos!
You'll probably die eating most of these things, but look on the bright side! You'll die happy. (And Joker can use your ghost as a circus attraction.)

If he spots your character wandering around, he'll speak up after swallowing a mouthful of food.
"Hey, do you know where there's more food? I want to try as much as I can!"

"Hey Mister, do you work here?"
no subject
"My little Belle should be 'round... last I saw of her, she was handing samples out to the crowd. Botan wanted to get these new flavors tried out and I couldn't take it all myself. Have to watch my figure and all that."
no subject
If he asked him, would he try it out on Gon? Or, would he just do it for his job?
"You know Botan? She's a really good friend of mine." It sounded like her, for sure. She had asked for Gon to be a taste tester of sorts, because she herself did not like sweets.

There was a pause though before he offered one hand out. Ah, but where were his manners? "Right, I'm Ronald, by the way. Ronald Knox. And you'd be...?" But there's another pause and a sheepish little grin as he lowers his hand a bit.
"You can pass on the handshake if you can't return it, by the by."
no subject
"I'm Gon! It's nice to meet you, Mister Ronald."
He gazes upwards, expression curious. "Do you know Killua, then?"
no subject
"You could say I do. On a professional basis, mind. He's the one who was asking for volunteers on the network a while back. Friend of yours?" he asks after that short pause.
no subject
"Do you want to keep working for him?" Killua could be a bit crude at times, but this man seemed rather nice in contrast to that.

Still wearing her little black cat ears, she took a seat at the end of a bench and occupied herself with watching the stalls and trying to identify the foods while she waited.

Another thing he has? One Maka Albarn he's convinced to come with him.
As he enters the eating area, he's practically hopping around so he can see over the crowd and find Lust. "She's around here, I'm sure of it- there she is!" Beaming, he waves one hand at her as he comes over. Admittedly, it's a hand where a different kind of dipped apple is between each of his fingers, but listen... He had to try each kind. At his heels are two psychic rocks and a pair of snooty French cats.
"Lust! Hey!"
no subject
The other is how did he manage that without offending her at least once?
Maka trails behind him and his entourage, a female Pyroar and Houndoom flanking her sides while a Pumpkaboo floats by her shoulder. She can't help hanging back, she has to observe the situation from afar before saying anything. Some people would call that being standoffish but hey, soldier habits.
no subject
She was still wearing her cat ears.
"Kirikou, hello." A raised eyebrow at all of the sweets. "You certainly look as though you're enjoying all the carnival has to offer." She looked to the girl hovering behind him. "You must be Maka. Kirikou's spoken of you often."
no subject
"Yep. Lust, this is Maka. Maka, Lust."
no subject
Wow, don't put the focus on her, she still doesn't know how to respond to that. Appropriately, Maka's cheeks tint pink and her gaze flicks to the side before coming back to the two. She smiles faintly, nodding.
"Hello, Miss Lust. It's nice to meet you. I hope Kirikou hasn't been giving you trouble, he can be a handful."
no subject
No matter how often she was addressed as such, she still hadn't grown accustomed to it.
"Anyway, it's nice to meet you. I still don't know very many people here."
no subject

But at least the awkward smile cracks into a more genuine one. Hey, it's not like she actually has a problem with the fact that Kirikou's making friends, it's a good thing, she just never expected a sophisticated lady to be one of them.
With introductions out of the way, however, Maka will scoot on back to the sidelines directly out of Lust's view.
"He talks about me, huh? I hope he hasn't said anything mean."
no subject
"No, he's spoken quite well of you." Certainly not poorly. "You're very good friends, yes?"
Another new experience Lust was only recently beginning to navigate. Of course there was Greed, but Greed was like her. They knew each other and understood each other without having to even know one another. It was different than making friends with other people.

SOMEONE MIGHT WANT TO...STOP HER...
Or otherwise just swing by to say hello! Nate the Mightyena and Sophie the Ninetales are, as always, present and accounted for near her, and she's looking pretty content with herself all told.]

Around her neck is a sign that reads "Free samples! Please leave feedback." and when approached, she'll be more than happy to hold the tray out and urge you to pick something. Care for a bite? It's for a good cause. ]
