7th Act - Boys and girls of every age

Who: Come one, come all!
Where: Goldenrod, the Eve's Garden Circus
When: The 11th - 13th
Summary: Just like always, the Circus is busy as usual... But with a bit of a spooky twist added on thanks to their current partnership with a certain Haunted House.
Rating: PG
Log:

The Circus is always bustling with activity, even on the days when the shows in the Big Top aren't on. There's plenty of stalls to enjoy besides those, after all! Games, and food, and stalls with all sorts of interesting things for sale. For those living in Goldenrod or passing through, it's no doubt quickly settled itself as a regular scene.

On the 11th, however... Just as always when the shows are promised to happen, the Circus is more bustling than usual and today there's a twist. On the 11th, those walking past the Circus' gates will find themselves in QUITE the different atmosphere. Genuine spider webs are strung across the stalls, skulls strung up in them that seem to clack their teeth at passerby. legions of pumpkins are sprawled throughout the area. At night, and on the foggy day of the 13th, their eerie glow lights up twisting paths throughout the circus grounds. Even quite a few of the workers seem to have gotten into the spirit (possibly at their boss' badgering), and wear outfits from the simple masks to the more complex things.

Beyond the change in atmosphere, however, there are still the things that are usually about! Food, games, and stalls selling various knickknacks can all be found relatively easy although they're joined by a few other themed goods. There's also, of course, the show that will be playing three times a day in the big tent proper!

One notable addition is what appears to be a small station of sorts with a rather ominous carriage that stops at it every now and then pulled by what appear to be a pair of Rapidash... only colored darkly with bones painted across their heads and what might be actual skulls acting as face covers. Well then! Perhaps you might be interested in letting it take you to Jack's Haunted House?

So relax. Have fun! And cross your fingers that you're not terrified of scary clowns and giant spiders.

Oh, but she certainly has an audience and one of them seems to be appreciative of the show. When it comes to an end, Yukio's right there, applauding with the rest of them and he lets the crowd disperse before slipping through to approach her. "If you don't mind my saying, Miss Von Enzbern, you're still as talented as ever." he says by means of greeting. The little noibat dragonbat on his shoulder chirps in agreement and whistles one of the folk songs that was part of Illya's performance that evening.

"Looks like Kizamime liked your performance, too." he laughs softly, reaching up to rub at one of the pokemon's large ears.

"Ah, Mister Okumura!" She turns a cheery smile on him while Typhon eyes the dragonbat in a way that suggest she's trying to decide whether it would be tasty or not. "It's been some time."

Ilya's eyes turn to the bat as it starts to imitate her singing, pleased by the sincerest form of flattery. "So I can see! I'm very pleased it went over so well, as is Typhon. Aren't you Ty- Stop looking at the poor bat like that."

Kizamime meanwhile is too lost in his song to notice that hungry stare but he stops in mid-whistle when he hears Ilya chastising Typhon. His only response is to tilt his head at the garchomp, his large ears twitching ever so slightly as his trainer moves to settle him on his shoulder. "It has been, yeah. I heard you singing and thought it sounded familiar... so I guess I wasn't too far from the truth." Yukio replies as soon as the dragonbat is settled back on his shoulder. "Were those songs from home? I recognized one as being distinctly German."

She beams widely, pleased that he noticed, while Typhon snorts and pretends she wasn't eyeing poor Kizamime like that. "Indeed they are! They're all German, in fact, old folk songs about being dragged off by supernatural horrors and the like." She's entirely too cheerful about that. "I thought it appropriate."

"That is pretty appropriate, given the season." he replied with a small smile, reaching up a minute to lightly scratch the dragonbat under its chin. Kizamime gives off a soft chirp of approval, eyes half lidded as he continues to watch Typhon curiously. It's his first time seeing a Garchomp, after all.

"The two of you make a great team, by the way." Yukio adds after a moment. "Have you been with the circus long?"

"I have, but this is Typhon's first time. I've been training with her during my trip since the last performance, but it was a bit of a gamble having her step out onto the stage so early. It paid off though!" She's really very pleased with how well Typhon took to the stage, but then, it may be to be expected, with how eager the dragon is to impress her trainer.

"It was a perfect choice, really. Garchomps are quite sharklike even if they're dragons, and sirens have an affinity for sealife in general... though perhaps a sharpedo would have been a better choice." Typhon snorts in objection to that statement and rears her head high. Ilya, of course, just giggles in response. "Oh, you think not, Typhon?"

"Typhon... that's a pretty fitting name for her. The Garchomp line does seem to give off that kind of vibe. But she's pretty talented to be able to pick up performing so naturally." he replied, smiling back as he shifts position to allow Kizamime to shift his position on Yukio's shoulder. The dragonbat is settled in rather nicely, tilting its head this way and that as he watches the Garchomp.

"I think it paid off pretty well. She's a great addition to your act and... it's almost like dancing comes naturally to her." he adds after a moment's thought.

"She's a show-off, is what she is." Ilya says that, but she's scratching Typhon under the chin as she speaks, taking any sting out of her words.

"A lot of what she does in battle is to dance around her opponents' attacks until she can strike back, so in a way, it does come quite naturally, yes. That's another part of why I picked her." Most of the rest of her team had a tendency to more just tank the attacks that came their way.
