Who: Ilya and the Keyderps
Where: Cerulean City
When: October 15th
Summary: Ilya just discovered something. Something wonderful.
Rating: PG-13 for descriptions of horrifying pokemonstrosities.
Log:
Ilya wasn't really much of a gamer, but this new thing she'd just found while idly playing with her gear looked pretty fun. A little horror game, just in time for halloween.
After downloading it, she settled down to start playing around. The introduction was nice and creepy, really setting the atmosphere. The gym, or at least the area of it she was in, seemed just a tad run-down and dangerous looking, enough to give it an unnerving feel.
She played around with the settings for a bit, checking things out, looking at each of the cameras, and noting that there were only three pokeballs in the main area, despite the fact that there was supposed to be five Pokemon to deal with. A little odd, but she guessed one of them had to be in another area.
And so as the message to introduce her to the game played (she giggled a bit at some of the dialogue), she flicked around, checking the rooms and waiting for something to happen... until she flicked back to the first room and noticed one of the pokeballs was open. Well, okay, she had to go find the Pokemon now and-
Well, it didn't take her too long to find. The rabbit-like Pokemon (she couldn't remember the species, but the game called him Barney) stared up at her through the camera. It was downright unnerving what she was seeing, almost as if the thing could see her through the camera. She held it on for a moment before remembering she was wasting power like this, and flicking it back off. She waited for a few moments as time ticked down, then pulled up the camera again... only to find it had gone static. Confused, she shuffled through the cameras rapidly until they came back on. By this time the time read four, so she was just about done with the night. It ticked over to five, but as she hunted and hunted she couldn't find him.
Finally giving up, she closed the cameras... and with an unholy shriek, the nightmarish face of Barney leaped out at her, biting rapidly at the screen before it switched out into static. She leaped back in shock, staring at the screen for a few moments...
And as it switched to the game over screen, she knew she'd found something wonderful.
"Kairi! Xion! Come here, you've got to see this! You too, Riku and Sora!"

A-are you okay?

Ugh. Did somebody's 'Gear wig out?
[That sound was horrifying. Horrifying enough to jerk him out of a blissful slumber.]

Come over here! I found this great new game.
[Yeah, she's enjoying this to the hilt. That smile is entirely too wide for someone who just experienced that kind of unholy scream.]
Here, watch.
[She presses the "continue" button and settles back onto her chair to show it off to them from the beginning, starting to flick through the cameras as the intro message starts to play.]

[Some game that is. It looks pretty tedious, honestly. And how come they can't even move?
He crosses his arms, watching with a dry expression. C'mon, game. Show something exciting!]

[Suddenly the view shorts out, leaving nothing but static. Ilya immediately pulls out of the camera view and waits for a few moments, before flicking them back on.
Barney's left the stage.]
Hmmm, the little rabbit's still the most eager one. Let's see...
[She flicks through the cameras until she hits one for backstage, revealing Barney up right next to the camera, staring into it.]
Oh!

...But it isn't moving now? Does the camera freeze them or something?

[That is one UGLY creature. Xion doesn't like its stare, either, what even--]
Do they know you're watching them? Are they gonna attack?

[And indeed, a few moments later the view cuts out to static again.]
Ah. He's moving.
