You'd think "here" is catching the break.

[Calling it out since he's standing a bit of a distance away, it's not hard to find her familiar. It has just been a very... long time. Nearly three years is a long time, right? Vanitas has his arms crossed with a Purrloin curling around his leg and an Altaria preening his hair.]

[restardom]

[ ... There's a face she hadn't really wanted to remember, and Rise visibly hesitates, but opts to stay put. Maybe he won't pick a fight. Maybe he's mellowed. Who knows? ]

You'd think, but I've kind of got other things to focus on right now.

[He sees that hesitation, and shuts his eyes to take in a breath for a moment; ah, right. It's really been a while since they'd last interacted, before he'd really come to understand some things.]

We all do, but being here for a half day. [There's a shrug, then Vanitas drops his arms and holds up his hands to make a show that he won't do anything - then he walks a bit closer; he might be taller than she remembers, aged a few years and less volatile.]

... There's no sense in asking if you remember me, it's written all over you. So I'm only going to say this one. [He opens his mouth to start, but give him a moment. Ngh. Words. Nghhhh.] Msorry.

[ A pause. A blink. Rise, perhaps understandably, looks disconcerted. At a second glance, Vanitas doesn't look as young, and he's gained yet more height over her. She's perhaps only gained an inch or two-- not much about her has changed.

But-- ]

Wait, what?

[Crossing his arms then and harumphing quietly, Vanitas just levels a look at her and inwardly feels a moment of good that he's taller than someone for once.] For a lot of things I did years ago. You could say I've come to understand.

[He did say he wouldn't say it again, but elaborating just that bit more looks like it's necessary since she looked even more uncomfortable when he got closer.]

... Wow, I can't say I saw that coming. What brought that epiphany up?

[ seriously, he'd seemed so unyielding, back then. ]

Idiots. Idiots and people who fought and argued and still stuck with me. [Shifting his feet when his Liepard jumps up on his shoulder and stands behind his head to prevent the Pokemon from rocking right off, Vanitas idly lifts a hand to scratch at the Pokemon's ears.]

... I had a few years to grow into myself like I should have.
