Bats are pretty cool. I almost grabbed one with this ball they gave me, but instead I ended up getting this floating moon thing that reminded me of my bro, Derek.

[She smiles at the little cat.] So, I'm Thorne. Who are you, little guy?

You mean like this ball. [He holds up a pokeball with his little paws.]

I have two more, on the collar I woke up with. I didn't know what it's for though.

Oh, you throw them at these animals and then they go in the balls and they're your friends after that. Something like that.

Does that mean these guys are my friends? [He looks at cheerful balls of flying fluff hovering above his head. These bats have been hanging around him for a while now.

He turns to look at her with with a pout.]

No, I;'m a vampire not a ghoul. A ghoul like a ghost or something?

[She pets the top of his head.]

The kind of ghoul I was thinking of is a person who helps vampires. But I guess you are a real vampire! Guess what?

[She leans down close so she can whisper to him:]

I'm a vampire too.

....REALLY NYAN! [He jumps up in excitement.]

I've never met another vampire before except for Vampire-san.

Yes! From Clan Malkavia! We're the best, smartest vampires there are. [Way better and smarter than the Tremeres, darn it.]

Is Vampire-san your sire?

I've heard of clans from Mori-kun and Komori-kun, though I didn't understand much about it.

[Because those troll bats make everything confusing for him on purpose.]

He certainly is, I would have died out in the cold it wasn't for him.

Clans are vampires who are more like each other than other vampires. Like snotty art-loving vampires or funny-looking sewer vampires or, um, the Vampire Mafia. But not all vampires have one. Maybe Vampire-san didn't?

He sounds like a nice sire. Mine was pretty nice too. I got off pretty lucky, some of my vampire friends have awful sires.

Mori-kun and Komori-kun, made up a bunch of bad stuff about my sire, but I know he's super nice. He found me a home, now I have a loads of friends and a warm bed.

Oh meow, they're vampire bats, they say we are in the same family but they like to gossip about stuff.

Sounds like vampires to me. [She guesses some Toreadors must have Embraced bats, because she can't think of any clan more gossipy.]
