Arriving at Goldenrod
Who: William T. Spears & Ronald Knox
Where: Out and about in Goldenrod
When: Dec 29th
Summary: Having been loaned Ronald's Ponyta for traveling, William finally arrives in Goldenrod City
Rating: PG?
Log:
Being without the ability to quick-jump from location to location was certainly not something William was fond of. Had he ever actually ridden a horse before? He couldn't recall. This new world was brimming with things he'd never seen nor experienced before. The oddest of which was this new responsibility of hatching and caring for life. How was that skill supposed to enhance his resume as a Death God?
Hopefully Ronald was willing and prepared to take in an earful of questions and agitation, now that William had arrived at the gates of the large city.
Your Pokégear is ringing, Ron. Better not keep your boss waiting!

Your Pokégear is ringing, Ron. Better not keep your boss waiting!
But Will you never had an arse to begin with. =n=
[ Whoa, hang on, what's that sound? Ron's just gonna circle around and peer at his back. ]
What've you got in here then? Whatever it is prolly wants your attention.
Ron'll still keep checking though
Ah. This is hatching... I suppose?
Probably pat a few times to make sure
[ Grim's just going to come out from behind his trainer to lightly tap the egg. Come on, little guy. It's rude to keep your trainer waiting. ]
Everyone got one then, the egg I mean. Least it looks that way.
I approve of this
[ With a loud crack the egg pops open. And Grim will be excited to see that it's a shiny version of himself! A cute red Duskull who's making a rather grand entrance into the world - flipping around in the air and striking a pose. And... were those sparkles? ]
Ok someone is most certainly joking with this thing. Honestly.
Frisk - not just a pokemon move anymore
Which turns into a cough.
And a chuckle.
Nope, you'll have to excuse him. Ron's just doubled over in laughter now because damn, that's rich. That's just way too good not to ignore. ]
Got a whole world and a half away and you can't escape him, can you, sir?
[ Reaching under his glasses to wipe away those mirth tears now. What were the chances of a Duskull's alternate colors being red? But his amusement finally dies down and his ability to breathe returns to him at last. ]
Blimey... Course, you know, if he ever gets here... Mister Sutcliffe'll prolly never let you live it down.
William used Frustration!
If he ends up here now, I am blaming it entirely on you, Knox.
D8 it is very effective???
Me?! Cor now, come on! S'not like I've got any ruddy control on who comes and goes, sir.
[ There's a small grin though as he shrugs. ]
Would be a bit of a laugh if he came the next time round, wouldn't it?
No. And you'd think he'd figure that out by now.
Get in here, this instant.
[ Is that how these things work? He hasn't actually used one yet, and he allows his Pidove to stay out since she's well behaved. ]
D8 it was an effort.
But to save his boss' pride, he's gonna help. Juuuuuuuust this once. ]
Don't wager you've tried... ah... throwing it, sir...?
Points for effort!
Honestly?
[ Well that seems like a ridiculous way for these things to function. With a shake of his head, William tosses the Pokéball towards the red Duskull. ...who dodges it, midair.
Here Ronald, have a glare in your direction. ]
HOORAY!
Come on... s'just your first day in... and Mister Spears hasn't been here nary a week. Think you could cooperate just a tad?
[ He'll just hold up the ball for the Duskull... just in case his little plea hasn't fallen on deaf ears.
If duskull have ears. ]
/o/
...
[ William closes his eyes, willing himself to just breathe calmly. ]
no subject
Yeah, he's gonna risk it.
He's gonna risk the unprofessional little snort that escapes him from the sight of William's normally perfectly coiffed hair being mussed up by a pokemon. ]
Looks like he likes you, sir.
no subject
Stop it. Now you are going to go in your ball and remain there until I can tolerate your presence again. Do I make myself clear?
[ He's certainly trying to sound stern and commanding but it's a bit hard to take him seriously when his hair is just... all over the place. The Duskull chirps happily and reaches up, plucking William's glasses right off his face. ]
no subject
...and his glasses off.
With that, Ron's just going to draw his own duskull over. ]
C'mon, Grim. We're prolly better off staying a bit further'n this. Wager things're going to get a bit hairy.
[ Taking three steps back now before he decides to keep his intervention at a safe distance. ]
Easy on the little blighter, sir! He just hatched after all!
no subject
You...thing! Give me back my spectacles this instant.
[ Groping around and finding nothing but empty air. ]
Honestly, to be based after a grim reaper and not know the importance of a reapers spectacles...
Knox! Where did that creature go?
no subject
Right behind you, sir. Blimey, he's a lively one...
[ He's still trying not to laugh but this is just too good. Ah, but he does see an opening. ]
Grim! You've got confuse ray, haven't you?
[ The tiny duskull is only flustered for a moment at the shock of his trainer suddenly asking him to attack but attack he does, finally launching the small ball of psychic energy in the other Duskull's direction. If they can confuse it, maybe it'll make it easier to catch. ]
no subject
Unfortunately, William's still groping around in the entirely wrong area. ]
Did you do something? Honestly, it doesn't help if I can't see.
no subject
Hang on a tick!
[ And a pause to think before turning his attention back to his partner. ]
Grim! Give him a hand, I'll try to get this one under control.
[ At that, Grim gives a firm salute and plucks William's glasses from the other one before floating over and nudging him with them.
His trainer meanwhile's going to attempt another thrown pokeball. ]
Grim's got your specs, sir!
no subject
[ William's cut off by Grim nudging him and holding his glasses close enough that, if he squints, he can make out what they are. He eagerly takes them, sliding them back on, carefully. ]
Meanwhile, Red's begun to spin in the air while slowly drifting to the ground. Ron's pokéball hits without an issue. In fact, the ball doesn't even jostle once before firmly snapping closed. ]
Ah. [ A glance to the side. ] I suppose a thank you is in order.
no subject
There we are! He prolly won't give you any trouble now... least until you call him out. Even then, he'll prolly go back in.
[ Grim on the other hand, is all pleased noises after Will takes back his glasses. Oh, gosh, no, don't mention it! Really! is probably what he means. ]
no subject
I should hope so.
[ He has to admit --at least to himself, not out loud heavens no!-- that Grim is rather well trained and respectful. ]
Of course I would end up with the delinquent one.
no subject
Maybe it's because you've got a talent for making em behave, eh?
But! Now that that's over with... it's prolly best we get you settled in. Wager it's been a long trip, even with Lancelot.
no subject
Do I?
[ He's obviously referring to his difficulties with Grell. There's a sigh. ]
Yes, it was quite the distance to travel. I suppose we take our ability to move quickly as reapers for granted.
Where are we staying again? You mentioned the circus, I believe.
