Why Don't You Go Where Fashion Sits?
Who: Participants of the Kalosmas New Year's Event!
Where: The Hotel Richissime, in scenic Lumiose City, Kalos!
When: Wednesday, December 31 - Thursday, January 1!
Summary: After all the shenanigans of Hoennween, it's about time everybody had a chance to relax and unwind, courtesy of some actually benign NPCs. With all the luxuries of the Hotel Richissime waiting at their disposal, that shouldn't be too difficult a prospect!
Rating: PG in general; please mark threads that go higher accordingly!

A FEW OTHER SETTING NOTES:
• At the moment, this log spans the entirety of the New Year's Eve plot, so starters may be posted for any time on either day of the event. If things start getting massive and it looks like an overflow log will be necessary, we'll definitely see about putting one up, and will link it to this one if need be.
• The Event Itinerary can be found here! Remember that participating in this course of events is not mandatory, but it's what will be going on in the grand scheme of things over the course of the event.
• All event participants are being housed on the fourth and fifth floors of the hotel. Your bedrooms are laid out like this; if you participated in our IC Rooming Roulette, you can find your buddy on this table here!
• Most activities here will be free! ICly, your characters will use their room cards to "pay" for most things, and the charges will be applied to their room (which of course, they are not paying for personally). Gift shops, parts of the casino, and food not provided as part of the event are not chargeable to your rooms and characters will have to use their own money in those locations.
• Underage characters may use the casino; however, they may be subject to some social scrutiny and side-eyeing in the event that they attempt to get in on one of the high-roller tables.
A NOTE ABOUT USING THREADS ON THIS LOG FOR AC:
Because of how our AC period works (the grace week into January still counting toward December), all threads on this log are valid toward December's AC, regardless of timestamp! However, because the log technically spans two different months and we want to encourage tagging out on it, we have also made this decision:
On this log and this log alone, comment threads timestamped in January (OOCly) that reach AC-length may be used towards January's AC, as well. Therefore, if a thread on this log reaches AC length with 10+ comments timestamped in January, you can use it toward January's AC (assuming the same thread has not already been used to satisfy December's AC).

MAIN EVENT INFOPOST | QUESTIONS FOR MODS

1:00 PM to 6:00 PM — FREE MINGLE TIME
Once she's arrived at the hotel, though, she'll be quite naturally checking out her room before setting off to snoop all over the place, flanked on either side by her Kadabra and an incredibly shy-looking Charmeleon, who looks as though he's perpetually resisting the urge to hide somewhere, but determined to stick it out for the duration.
When she's not taking some time to check out the Spa-Fari Zone, you're most likely to find her reading down by the pool, where a number of her Pokemon are enjoying themselves playing — and where she also has her Gear nearby with Zack camped out inside monitoring for texts.]
8:00 PM to 11:59 PM — AT THE GALA
She's also eager as all hell to dance, and is cheerfully mingling her way through the crowd looking for people to dance with when she's not hanging around the photographer in the hopes of getting a picture or two. Come find her! She's probably happy to see you.]
12:00 AM to 1:30 AM — FIREWORKS SHOW AND AFTERWARD
At the gala
So... he'll just make his way over. ]
Don't think we've met, love... but d'you fancy a round or two on the floor?
[ Yeeeeah this guy works fast. ]
no subject
A gallant stranger come to sweep me off my feet, are you? With an offer like that, how can I resist?
no subject
Only as gallant as I appear to be, miss. Enjoying yourself so far though? Quite the mixer they brought up.
no subject
[She grins.]
And welcome in the new one with equal fanfare, besides.
no subject
[ And offering her one hand. ]
Ronald Knox, by the way. And you are...?
no subject
[She takes it, obligingly.]
You've just flown in from London, have you, Mr. Knox?

Free Mingle Time
They are ready to head on upstairs when Chihiro and Yukan come around the corner, the boy stopping short just shy of accidentally bumping into Carmen's Charmeleon. Thankfully, Yukan reaches out and gently takes Chihiro by the shoulder, pulling him back slightly to avoid an unintentional collision.]
O-oh, I'm sorry! I didn't see you there.
no subject
[Clearly very startled, the aforementioned Charmeleon panics and books it around behind his trainer's legs, making a wide arc that actually ends up taking him over next to the Kadabra for the extra security.]
no subject
[Chihiro continues quickly when he sees the poor thing dash away. He frowns, looking up at Carmen with an apologetic expression.]
We were trying to find the Spa. You...wouldn't happen to know where it is, would you?
no subject
[And then she gets a better look at who it is, and brightens up into a smile.]
Hello, Fujisaki. It's easy to get lost around here, isn't it? The Spa's not on this floor, though; that might be why you're having trouble. I think if you take the elevators up to the next one above this, you'll spot the signs leading to it right away.
no subject
[Chihiro mirrors Carmen's smile with a small one of his own, then blinks and peers down the hallway at what she says.]
Is that right? No wonder we haven't been able to find it.
[Yukan smiles, folding his arms. Well, a little exercise never hurt anyone.]
That's okay, though. We may as well have a look at the rest of the area while we're already at it, I suppose.
no subject
[She motions down the hall, though.]
I can get you to the elevators from here, though, if that's what you're after. It's just down this way and make a right.

Something he really has to get off his chest.]
...
This... place is so enamored with godawful puns, isn't it? I really just don't understand.
no subject
And hello to you, too. What in particular has caught your attention this time?
no subject
but surely even the cookie monster must be able to tell when one's burnt, right.]
"Spa-Fari Zone"? Really, I know you like wordplay like that, but it's forced even for this place.
[nooooo fuuuuuun.]
Name aside, though, would you know if it's any good? I was thinking of giving it a go, but I'm really rather picky about this sort of thing.
no subject
[Speaking of awful and forced puns. But moving right along...]
The Pokemon area has been receiving rave reviews, at least; I've sent a few of mine in there to try things out, and they've come back ecstatic over the service. And the people seem pleasant and obliging, and the facilities are clean and up-to-date. It seems like it's one of the points of pride of this hotel, so the employees here are happy to talk about it if you ask.
no subject
Nevertheless... well, if they've got a staff that can appropriately treat all varieties of Pokemon, with their unusual and sometimes slightly dangerous anatomy, then they must know what they're doing.
But then, I rarely find reviews as accurate as personal experience, so I fully intend on giving it a go myself.
no subject
[Just invite yourself right along, Sandiego.]
Strictly for science, of course. They might treat their lady customers differently than their gentlemen.

at the gala!
Damn.
[WELL, THAT CAME OUT WAY LOUDER THAN HE'D INTENDED. It probably doesn't help that he hadn't intended for it to come out in the first place. You'd think Yusuke would have enough shame to at least look away now that he's accidentally made his opinion known, but sure enough, when Carmen turns around, he'll still be staring at her, the drink in his hand forgotten. Trust a teenage boy to completely lack subtlety.]
no subject
You know, I usually expect high praise like that to come followed by an offer to dance.
[Let's see how you like being put on the spot in return, Yusuke. c: ]
no subject
[... oh. Oh SHIT. That's more or less the sentiment the look on Yusuke's face conveys when it belatedly dawns on him what the hot lady is asking him to do. He would've been able to roll with it if she'd turned around and told him off - hell, he would've even been all right if she'd smacked the hell out of him, even if it meant he'd have to ice more than just a black eye when he got back to his hotel room (he is seriously not looking forward to all the stupid questions he's probably gonna get from Blake later).
This, though? This is unexpected. Not to mention a little intimidating, though he wouldn't dare describe it that way if asked. For a second, he just stands there, looking more than just a little like a deer in the headlights...
... and then, finally, he coughs and wrenches his gaze away, trying his very damn best to look cool and apathetic. His stomach feels squirmy and stupid. Dammit, he knew he shouldn't've tried that blood sausage earlier.]
Y-- ... yeah, sorry, lady. I don't dance.
[THERE. Surely that will be enough to dissuade her.]
no subject
[So much for cool and apathetic; she's clearly having absolutely none of it.]
...Or could it be it's not as much fun when you're the one being put on the spot?
no subject
You know. Not that he was nervous, of course.]
Look, I didn't mean to say that out loud, all right? Besides, it was a compliment.
[He says, in the most attitude-laden tone of voice he can manage. The fact that it was intended as a compliment totally makes it okay, right? Of course it does!]
no subject
[There is something ringing vaguely familiar about this sudden burst of attitude and she can't quite put her finger on what it is.]
