Summary: After all the shenanigans of Hoennween, it's about time everybody had a chance to relax and unwind, courtesy of some actually benign NPCs. With all the luxuries of the Hotel Richissime waiting at their disposal, that shouldn't be too difficult a prospect!

A FEW OTHER SETTING NOTES:

• At the moment, this log spans the entirety of the New Year's Eve plot, so starters may be posted for any time on either day of the event. If things start getting massive and it looks like an overflow log will be necessary, we'll definitely see about putting one up, and will link it to this one if need be.

• The Event Itinerary can be found here! Remember that participating in this course of events is not mandatory, but it's what will be going on in the grand scheme of things over the course of the event.

• All event participants are being housed on the fourth and fifth floors of the hotel. Your bedrooms are laid out like this; if you participated in our IC Rooming Roulette, you can find your buddy on this table here!

• Most activities here will be free! ICly, your characters will use their room cards to "pay" for most things, and the charges will be applied to their room (which of course, they are not paying for personally). Gift shops, parts of the casino, and food not provided as part of the event are not chargeable to your rooms and characters will have to use their own money in those locations.

• Underage characters may use the casino; however, they may be subject to some social scrutiny and side-eyeing in the event that they attempt to get in on one of the high-roller tables.

A NOTE ABOUT USING THREADS ON THIS LOG FOR AC:

Because of how our AC period works (the grace week into January still counting toward December), all threads on this log are valid toward December's AC, regardless of timestamp! However, because the log technically spans two different months and we want to encourage tagging out on it, we have also made this decision:

On this log and this log alone, comment threads timestamped in January (OOCly) that reach AC-length may be used towards January's AC, as well. Therefore, if a thread on this log reaches AC length with 10+ comments timestamped in January, you can use it toward January's AC (assuming the same thread has not already been used to satisfy December's AC).

[While Al remains blissfully unaware, Jill the Meowstic most certainly hasn't. She didn't like the way this kid was looking at her trainer, and she definitely doesn't like the looks of whatever he was gonna do to him!]

[Her ears snap up and with an angry meow Wrath is quite promptly plucked up by Psychic to hang a few feet off the ground. TIME OUT, MISTER.]

_{[He'd been creeping forward with a nasty little grin that hadn't even been CLOSE to subtle-- but that expression promptly changed into one of dismay as his feet left the floor.]}

W-whaahoa!

What the!

_{[He'd been so focused on his target that he hadn't even NOTICED the little psychic cat-- but Pipsqueak the Zubat sure did. Letting out an agitated squeak, the tiny bat Pokemon immediately fluttered off of his trainer's head and made a beeline for Jill's FACE.]}

Huh? What's goi--Wrath?! [Oh god, what even just happened? He tries to get in between the two Pokemon--mostly for the Zubat's sake, he knows Jill could punt the little guy clear across this entire hall if she wanted to.] Jill, no, stop it! Put him down!

[Jill, for her part, yowls at Pipsqueak and swats at him angrily (Boy, if she wasn't maintaining this move...!). It takes a moment before she obeys Al...mostly, by just releasing Wrath instead of setting him properly back on his feet.]

<sub>[Jill vs. Pipsqueak in an actual fight would be downright tragic. Not only is she higher in level, she's got a type advantage. AND he's never been in an actual battle. Meaning that the most he can do is buffet her about the ears with his wings and shriek angrily at her. Which does like. 1 damage.]

[Wrath plops to the floor on his rump with a yelp when he's dropped, then starts to hastily crabwalk backwards away from Al and his telekinetic kitty.]

[MISSION FAILURE, ABORT ABORT!]</sub>

[It would be a total curbstomp. Just horrifying.]

[Jill keeps swatting at Pipsqueak while Al tries desperately to pull him away without hurting him. Wrath is...Al will deal with him in a moment, this is a bit more important.] Calm down, calm down, we're not gonna hurt your trainer! --Jill, don't you dare attack him!

<sub>[Pipsqueak may not be much of a fighter, but what he lacks in strength, he makes up for in heart. Still flailing away at the Meowstic's face wildly, he scolds Al soundly, a lecture delivered entirely in squeaks of varying pitches.]

[It's probably a good thing he can't understand it, because it's very self-righteous. Jill should be able to get the gist of it, though.]

[Wrath watches from where he'd scooted across the floor to.]</sub>

Pipsqueak!

[Oh, she does, and she's not happy about it. Her ears start to snap up again before Al finally catches the tiny terror, inadvertently saving him from being Charge Beamed clear into the ceiling.]

Got you! --Wrath, could you please come take him? I really don't wanna hurt the little guy! [It's hard to not squeeze him when he's flapping around this much, and Al's struggling to keep Pipsqueak from going after Jill again.]

<sub>[WRATH WOULD REALLY RATHER NOT GO NEAR AL.]

[But... he has to save his bat.]

[So VERY HASTILY he lurches to his feet and darts over to snatch the Zubat out of Al's hands before hopping back like he expected Al to BITE him or something.]</sub>

[Far from any biting or hitting or anything, Al smiles weakly and hands over Pipsqueak gratefully. The fearful attitude hurts more than he expected it to, but...well, he'll deal. He's had worse thrown at him before.]

I'm sorry about that, I don't know what got into Jill. You're not hurt, are you?

[The Meowstic shoots her trainer an utterly tired look. She just saved you losing all your money, you idiot!]

Al I'm so sorry

<sub>[IT'S OKAY JILL... YOU KNOW YOU WERE DOING THE RIGHT THING...]

[Wrath slinks backwards, his shoulders hunched like a damn gargoyle. Which looks kind of ridiculous in that suit, but still. His glare is locked firmly in place, saying plainly that he is not convinced by Al's obvious display of goodwill. No sir.]</sub>

[That one word hits right in the chest, and Al's smile falters into a far more lost expression.]

I--...okay. You liked the party so far?

[He doesn't really expect a real reply, but he has to try. Just little offerings, little things to show he cares, that he wants to be Wrath's friend.]
