Why Don't You Go Where Fashion Sits?

Who: Participants of the Kalosmas New Year's Event!
Where: The Hotel Richissime, in scenic Lumiose City, Kalos!
When: Wednesday, December 31 - Thursday, January 1!
Summary: After all the shenanigans of Hoennween, it's about time everybody had a chance to relax and unwind, courtesy of some actually benign NPCs. With all the luxuries of the Hotel Richissime waiting at their disposal, that shouldn't be too difficult a prospect!
Rating: PG in general; please mark threads that go higher accordingly!

A FEW OTHER SETTING NOTES:

• At the moment, this log spans the entirety of the New Year's Eve plot, so starters may be posted for any time on either day of the event. If things start getting massive and it looks like an overflow log will be necessary, we'll definitely see about putting one up, and will link it to this one if need be.

• The Event Itinerary can be found here! Remember that participating in this course of events is not mandatory, but it's what will be going on in the grand scheme of things over the course of the event.

• All event participants are being housed on the fourth and fifth floors of the hotel. Your bedrooms are laid out like this; if you participated in our IC Rooming Roulette, you can find your buddy on this table here!

Most activities here will be free! ICly, your characters will use their room cards to "pay" for most things, and the charges will be applied to their room (which of course, they are not paying for personally). Gift shops, parts of the casino, and food not provided as part of the event are not chargeable to your rooms and characters will have to use their own money in those locations.

• Underage characters may use the casino; however, they may be subject to some social scrutiny and side-eyeing in the event that they attempt to get in on one of the high-roller tables.

A NOTE ABOUT USING THREADS ON THIS LOG FOR AC:

Because of how our AC period works (the grace week into January still counting toward December), all threads on this log are valid toward December's AC, regardless of timestamp! However, because the log technically spans two different months and we want to encourage tagging out on it, we have also made this decision:

On this log and this log alone, comment threads timestamped in January (OOCly) that reach AC-length may be used towards January's AC, as well. Therefore, if a thread on this log reaches AC length with 10+ comments timestamped in January, you can use it toward January's AC (assuming the same thread has not already been used to satisfy December's AC).

The cities are all quite that way here, I think. Much cleaner, indeed.

[She will definitely not resist! It's almost a relief to be back in a social setting she actually feels comfortable with, frankly.]

Goldenrod City was much the same, when I first arrived there before the circus.

I'd be lying though if I said I didn't miss the fog.

[ That's a joke that's half meant though. This sort of society living is a little more high class than what he's used to personally, but does he show it? Hardly. ]

So... safe to say you've been here longer'n Joker has, eh?
occultigen: (PONDER ⚜ or i could stab him in the face)

Why, no, not in the least. Oh — beg pardon, I misspoke; rather, it was Mr. Joker who helped me to first reach Goldenrod! I went to attend the showing of the circus, and simply stayed in the city after it was through.

[She smiles pleasantly, recalling the memory.]

S'that right? He's a good soul, Joker is... and this is coming from a bloke who makes souls his business, if you don't mind my blowing me own horn a bit.

[ Ah, the more time he spends with her, the more he finds her to be pleasant company. ]

Hope you don't mind my saying all of a sudden but... this isn't so bad, wouldn't you say?
occultigen: (FAINT ⚜ good thing this couch was here)

...I suppose a great deal of that begs the question of what one left behind, doesn't it?

[It's a brief sidetrack into something a little closer to melancholy, but she's quick to right herself.]

But yes, I've found things to be quite agreeable here — the people and the circumstances both.

[ He does consider she makes a good point. After all, not everyone's circumstances were the same. Joker for one didn't have anything waiting for him back home. Ronald had almost everything to go back to -- his career, his friends, he had everything going for him. What he does notice though was that momentary chance of manner... but like a good lady from his time, Meridiana is good at hiding her emotions. Either way, this lady is in his care tonight and what kind of self respecting reaper would he be if he would allow her to feel any semblance of sadness while he's got her?

So he'll just offer her a smile as he leads her arms to a better hold on him while he continues to lead. ]

Current company included, m'hoping? Course... there's always the chance that whatever we left's still waiting for us to come back. Least m'hoping it'll be when we do.

[It's the little gestures she notices most, really; the tiny familiarities of a time period that always seems far behind her now. It's the skill at dancing, the polite ease with which the conversation is carried and her slip-ups are forgiven, the familiar accent in a world that sometimes seems overwhelming with names and sounds she struggles to pronounce.

It's what brings a smile back to her face, and makes it a genuine one, too.]

Current company is very much included, thank you.

[...]

You have something pleasant waiting for you, then?
diehardreaper: ([??] ► It's back it up)

[personal profile] diehardreaper 2015-01-15 11:31 am (UTC)(link)
[ Even if he wasn't born into the upper crust, Ronald as always more at home in societal functions like this one. Maybe it was just in his nature to be? After all, the classier dames were usually out of reach. But he's grateful that smile's there. Meridiana's been so comfy around him, after all. He'd be personally affronted if he found he'd lost his touch.

Her little comment is met with a smile back as thanks but there's a pause as he thinks that question over. ]

Wouldn't say pleasant... wouldn't say it's horrid either.

[ And a casual shrug though. ]

I'd just get homesick, is all! Nice as this place is, s'nothing like home.
