Summary: Upon Naminé's arrival, the Keyderp brigade promised to meet with Naminé. Now's their chance to catch up and enjoy the relaxed scenery.

[With everyone all prepped up for their meeting, it really was just a matter of time before they made it into town. Psych's teleportation made reaching New Bark Town an easy task, leaving the rest of the trip just a matter of flight.

When the gang finally reaches their destination, the first thing Naminé and her companions may notice is a bright orange dragon descending from the sky, along with any other flyers the group brought along. Once they've dismounted, Riku's quick to look around, trying to pinpoint Naminé in order to give a proper greeting.

But while they're in town, nothing says they can't enjoy the sights. It's been ages since Riku's hit Cherrygrove, so he's more than happy to take a little break. Give everyone time to mingle and catch up.

Maybe even catch some waves.]

[Hope loves this attention, and soon falls over, face first. He wiggles a bit before getting back up and mewling out of hunger.]

Is she? She's spoken quite a bit with Phoenix and me on our way here.

[Oh wow you are adorable. She'll just give you a little scratch on your little kitty behind.]

She must really like you, then. [She grins.]

I'm Kairi, by the way.

[He likes her a lot. He nuzzles her hand and wiggles a bit more before rubbing his belly. Foooooood.

Lightning hopes so. She moves in place, trying not to look at Kairi. She's a bit embarrassed.]

Lightning.

[Alright kitty, they can go get food. She'll just scoop you up and we can go get some yumminess.]

So, Lighting, you feel like sticking around now that we know each other?

[She doesn't want to be the girl who just up and steals this woman's first friend in this world.]

[Yay. Food time. He won't mind being scooped up at all.]

[It'd be rude to turn her down.]

[She looks around.]

I'm sure Vanille will catch up.

Um... strawberries, please?

[ Can you even have more than one fruit on pancakes at a time? Naminé's thinking yes, but she doesn't want to seem too overindulgent. ]

Steel and psychic... that sounds like an interesting combination. [ She pauses and nods slowly. How could she forget? ] Yes... I remember.

[ What a devious plan of attack, Kairi. She sounds like she has a lot of experience doing that. ]

Does he... really?

You got it.

[The bubbles are starting to pop, so now's the perfect time to drop them into the pan.

He'll wait a few seconds before flipping it over and, voila, one side's a golden brown.]

Goldenrod? Hmm, then you've got a few weeks of traveling ahead. After that, I guess it depends on how much you like big cities.

[He laughs, tucking his hands into his pockets.]

It's an okay city, but everyone seems to just... stop, there. They give up traveling, and then they miss out on everything else Johto has to offer.

Phoenix knows a shortcut, so it should be about a week. He wants to get there as fast as possible.

[Is he fidgety?]

I won't stop there for long. What's the point of going on a journey when you just stop at the beginning of it?

[Just watch. She'll make her way to Kanto in a manner of months. She's determined. Though she might take about a year. If people keep stopping her.]

[ Naminé watches him, and she's honestly fascinated. ]

You're very good at that. [ It's not surprising, though. He has been here a long time, and in Sora's memories, Riku was always so good at what he did, so it's only natural he would be. ]

It's very powerful. Talos only has a few weaknesses and it resists a great deal. But about the mindspeach thing... it's definitely the one of mine who does this a lot. It will reach out to touch your mind almost right away, so it can be easy to get worried about it. But Talos means no harm. It simply enjoys conversation.

[And searching through people's minds for intent to harm its Mistress, but Ilya doubts that'll be a problem here.]

[ She gives another nod and tucks a lock of hair behind her ear. ] If it does... I'll try not to be too surprised.

That's all I can really ask. Don't worry. You'll get used to it.

The others should be easy to get along with. In fact...

[She tosses another ball out, and it pops open to free a Sylveon at Ilya's feet.]

I think you'll get along particularly well with my little Aphrodite.

Okay. I'll try. [ But Naminé can't hide her surprise too much when the Sylveon comes out. She even kneels down and holds her hand out. While people still give her a bit of a problem, Pokémon are different, and Naminé finds herself quite comfortable with them. ] Aphrodite... hello there.

[There is no hesitation like there might be with a regular animal. Aphrodite takes one look at Namine and bounds right over to her, moving right past her outstretched hand to leap into this new human girl's arms. Ilya laughs, but manages a bit of a scold.]

Careful! You don't want to knock the poor girl over!

Heh, thanks. They're one of the few things I can cook with confidence.

[Largely because they're so simple. And while he has gotten a bit better since his arrival, he's still no iron chef.

But, with the pancake ready, he'll scoop it up, place it on a plate, and pass that off to her.]

Tell that to everyone who decided to settle down. I guess they'd rather feel like they've got a home. Travel's not for everyone.

But still, it's such a waste...

[Shaking his head, Riku blows a small sigh.]

Would you rather be traveling?

[Since she's lost her home, she can't sit still in any once place. It has to feel like Bhodum, a nice island, before she's considers settling down. And still travel.]

Thank you.

[ She takes a bite, and her eyes light up more than she realizes. It's good, and she's never had something so delicious. So she'll eat in silence, though slowly, so she can savor the taste. ]

Oh!

[ Naminé's working mostly off instinct here. She wraps her arms around Aphrodite. Holding another being, human or Pokémon, is still kind of new. She's getting used to it, at least. But it's a nice feeling, that someone feels safe and comfortable with her. ]

She's... rather friendly.

Just be glad Kairi's isn't out too. Between Felicity and Aphrodite you'd be on the ground with little chance of getting up anytime soon.

[Aphrodite is nuzzling Namine's face, sniffing her curiously. Her scent is so familiar to the eeveelution, but not quite the same as the one she knows.]

Scratch her ears. She loves that.

Well, I've got the Training Center, but I don't think I could stand it if I stayed in Celadon all the time.

[It'd be a headache and a half. Sure, the city's huge, but he'd probably run out of things to do eventually.]

[Man, that's one of the best reactions he's ever seen to his cooking. And to a pancake, of all things...

It's actually kinda sweet, and there's no hiding Riku's smile as he watches.]
