Who: Nanami & Fujisaki and anyone who wanted to join them in a pie-themed birthday dinner planned at the last possible second. Good job, kids. Presumably involving any of the Dangans who care to be there or friends dropping by if they're in Goldenrod, IDK, OPEN.
Where: Goldenrod City, Dangan House.
When: March 14th, aka pi day, aka their shared birthday.
Summary: Both Fujisaki and Nanami return to Goldenrod to celebrate their birthday and also the glory that is pi day, idk chi said mingle log so i am mingle logging throws up hands

This party is a lot more impromptu than the one Nanami had thrown last year. It felt like her birthday (her second birthday party with a bunch of people...) had somehow snuck up on her this year. When had March even happened...? It was only two days beforehand that she'd realized the time, and then she'd texted Fujisaki in short order, asking if he wanted to do anything with her on the day. They'd eventually decided on "pie-themed dinner at home", and so Nanami had made use of her train pass yet again.

Probably her best Route investment, to be honest.

Together the programmer and gamer had decorated the front room of the house with streamers and cut-out numbers hung in order. 3.14159265359...rather than attempting to bake pies, Nanami had simply bought them, and Fujisaki had set out some other snacks. There are, of course, games. There are always games whenever Nanami is remotely involved in anything. But she'll probably be pretty content to actually pay attention to the ongoing party-thing, or at least to the novelty of celebrating her birthday with the guy who shares it. The people they know would have gotten texts beforehand, although presumably anyone actually in the house would have noticed all the rampant decorating going on even without that.

[Chihiro has been very busy this morning helping Nanami get everything set up and decorated for the party. His Leavanny and Meganium helped to get the streamers put up since there was no way he'd be tall enough to get the job done on his own...right now he's by the snack table with Shiruku getting some sandwiches placed out while trying very hard not to trip over Isamu the fattest Linoone who is doing everything he can to beg everyone here for table scraps.

It is clear that Chihiro is very excited, mostly because this is his first birthday that he's shared with all of his friends like this before. He just barely missed last year's, and getting to see everyone together is always nice.

After he finishes setting up he can be found almost anywhere in the house, mostly in the front foyer where most of the decorations are or the kitchen. Later he plans on heading outside to let his Pokemon play for a bit once the party has wound down somewhat, but for the time being it's time to mingle and stuff.]

Fujisaki-chi!

[Hopefully Chihiro's okay with a quick hug from Hagakure, because that's what's going to happen when Hagakure finds him during a not-so busy time. After setting him down, he ruffles his hair a little bit, grinning happily the whole while. It's always nice to have an uplifting day like this.]

Hey, happy birthday! You and Nanami-chi in one day, how cool is that? Are you excited?

[The sudden hug is a little surprising, but he doesn't mind it all that much and is laughing a bit by the time Hagakure puts him back down.]

Thank you, Hagakure-kun! I am, very much! Thank you for coming.

[As he talks his Flareon winds her way around Chihiro's legs, looking up at Hagakure with a smile.]

Nanami-san and I had a lot of fun putting up decorations this morning.

There's no way I could miss it! It's a super special day for you and Nanami-chi, after all.

[He crouches down and holds out his hand out to the Flareon for her to sniff before going in for a pet.]

Oh yeah, I got you a present too! Ikayaki, you ready?

[As if out of thin air, Hagakure's Inkay appears from behind him, holding a neatly-wrapped box with her little tentacles. She floats up to Chihiro's level to hand it over.]

I dunno if there's a present pile somewhere, so I figured I'd give it to you in person.

[Henko sniffs Hagakure's hand before immediately nudging her nose into his hand, welcoming any and all pets.

Meanwhile, Chihiro takes the present in his hands with a smile. He'll even offer Ikayaki a small pet of her own, if she'll allow it.]

Oh! Thank you so much!

[He'll just go ahead and open it now, actually. He's too excited to wait.]

[Henko's going to get some very enthusiastic petting, then! Hagakure even uses both of his hands to rub her cheeks and behind her ears.

Ikayaki meanwhile definitely appreciates that pet too! She chirps happily as she hands over the gift.

Inside the box is a night lamp in the shape of a snowglobe. Tons of tiny glittery stars float in the liquid interior, along with little figurines of a Solrock and Lunatone.

Once Chihiro's opened the box, Hagakure gives Henko one last pet before standing back up to explain.]

When you plug that in, there's a little mechanism inside that stirs up the liquid so the stars and Pokemon float around. If you've got it going in a dark room, they stand out against the walls! Kinda like one of those star projector things.

[...oh no it's so cute. Chihiro holds it up a little to get a better look while Hagakure explains, watching the figurines bob in the lamp and glitter brightly as the light filters through it.]

Oh, Hagakure-kun...I love it! Thank you!

[And he's just going to step over to give you another hug, goodness.]

[Whoa, double hugs! Hagakure's not gonna say no to that, though he's pleasantly surprised by it. He's a little more careful when he returns the hug though, now that Chihiro's holding that semi-fragile lamp.]

You're totally welcome! I wasn't sure if it would be up your alley, but I'm really glad you like it. [He laughs a bit.] I guess I'm getting better with this gift-giving thing!

I really like it! I'm going to put it in my room right away.

[After pulling away from Hagakure, he puts it back in the box for the time being to keep it from getting broken, gently setting it down on the table.]

Sweet! Let me know how it works out in there.

[While Chihiro does that, Hagakure gently wraps his arms around Ikayaki who has floated up to him.]

So you've pretty much spent a whole year here, right? What do you think of it? Being here in general, I mean. Everyone's experience is different, y'know?

[Chihiro turns back around to face Hagakure once the lamp is on the table, folding his hands in front of him as he thinks about that.]

Mmm, well...I really do like it here a lot, to tell you the truth. It's...so nice to get to live in this house with you and the rest of our classmates. And...if I didn't come here, I never would have been able to meet Nanami-san.

[Oh, that...things just got a little bit serious, didn't they? It's true, though. Since Chihiro died back home, he and Nanami never really got to interact with each other. This is their second chance, in a way.

Hagakure decides to look at it that way rather than getting sad about the state of affairs back home, as dim as they may be. He did ask about here rather than there in the first place, right?]

I totally get that. This really is a great place for second chances. I think it's been good for all of us who showed up, even if some had to go back home eventually...

[His thoughts flash briefly to Leon, the one he grew surprisingly close to after they arrived together. A lot of inner demons were faced in those months before his departure.]

Some people see being here as a sucky thing, even a curse. But it's done so many good things for us!

[The Programmer nods slowly in agreement, lifting a hand to brush a lock of hair from his eyes.]

I can't really speak for everyone, since I know many people have...well, unique situations. Some may want to go home, for whatever reason, no matter how nice this place is. After all...it can be very dangerous too, can't it?

[The...everything with team Magma and Aqua in October comes to mind.]

But I don't think it's a curse, necessarily. Even if some people would rather be elsewhere, being here...seems like a chance to grow as a person and experience new things. At least, that's what I think.

Yeah, I guess it can when it really wants to...I don't think anything's gonna compare to back home though.

[The gang wars were definitely scary...plus that time he got mugged, but both times he had his friends there for him. He doesn't have to live in constant fear here.]

And for sure! Plus we get to meet people from totally different worlds than ours- who woulda thought that could be a thing? Well, that's not to say that people from different worlds haven't visited Earth before but...well, I'll save that for another discussion.

[He laughs awkwardly. Yeah, best not to bring up the extraterrestrial debate right this second.]

Point is, we get to do tons of things we never could've back home. I think that's plenty worth it.

That's right! This place is an experience that we shouldn't take for granted. I really hope that I get to stay here for a long time.

[It's not just that he's scared of what might happen when he goes back home...it's also got a lot to do with how close he's gotten to the people here, not to mention his Pokemon.]

I hope you do too! I hope one day we can all be here, even though I know it's totally random.

[Naturally "all" excludes a certain few students, though he's not totally sure if Chihiro wanted to learn about all that stuff. Best to keep quiet about it just in case.]

That would be wonderful, wouldn't it? I think I would really like to see that happen, one day.

[ Nanami is of course around. While she can be found finishing up decorations or cutting up pie, she's mostly assigned herself the task of answering the door for any visiting guests and to plying people to play any number of board games with her.

Whether or not they want to play the SHSL Gamer is up to them.

She's trailed as usual by her Musharna-Rotom-Porygon-Z trio, who float through the air after her like a trail of ducklings. ]

Ah, thank you for being here...do you want to play a game?

[ Are you really going to say no to her on this, her birthday? ]

[She lives here, obviously, so she doesn't precisely need to be greeted at the door, but it's entirely possible that's where Nanami will spot her — as she arrives back from running errands, bearing a pair of gift bags (one pink, one green, and with absolutely no wrapped boxes in sight), one in each hand.

The pink one is offered to Nanami when Kirigiri spots her; inside, in a box that's rather small for a standard-sized gift bag, are a pair of friendship necklaces that she probably had engraved somewhere.]

Ah, perhaps a little later, Nanami-san — happy birthday.

[ It's at least easy to guess which bag goes where even before Kirigiri offers Nanami the pink bag - they're fairly color-coordinated, Nanami and her father. She smiles more because it's Kirigiri than because she's getting a present, happy to be sharing a birthday for the first time in...well, she'd never really celebrated such things before here. Not really, not like this. ]

Thank you, Kirgiri-senpai. Ah...should I open it now?

Please do. I hope it's all right.

[She hangs on to the other bag, shuffling it absently behind her and out of the way so that her focus can remain more fully on Nanami and her own endeavor.]

...The decorations look nice. Very festive.

[ Well, once she's opened it...Nanami does light up, so it seems to be? ]

They're so pretty... [ ................well, she considers them to be pretty, anyway. ] Matching necklaces?

[ Oh, but the decorations: ]

Thank you. For this, and...we worked pretty hard on them. Since it's also Pi Day, we thought it'd be fun to do both...?

...It is, isn't it? 3-1-4-1-5. I suppose at nine...twenty-something, it'll be the most Pi of all, won't it?

[She hesitates a little, not sure whether to elaborate on the necklaces or not — gift-giving is a tactful art, and it's often hard to gauge how much is too much when it comes to the discussion of them.]

I assume you'll keep "Player One" for yourself. The other...

[Pause.]

...I thought it might help you to feel connected to someone else, in some small way. No matter where they are. So...give it to the person as important as a player two would be.

For a long while, yep.

[ That, at least, is something that will please Chihiro undoubtedly...and therefore Nanami. Nerds. ]

Eh...? So it's that sort of thing. [ She's going to have to go quiet to think about this. While she gets better at talking to people as she gets to know them, and she has known Kirigiri a long while, no one has ever really given her this sort of present before. People as important to her as that...

...there are rather a few of them now, aren't there? Fujisaki, Kirigiri, Tanaka, Hagakure...more than that. Any of them would probably be happy to have the other half. ]

...I have a lot of people like that now, don't I.

[Celes has never been one for being overly social when it came to her housemates, but today she'd made the clearly questionable decision of sleeping in. That, combined with the time it took her to put on all her clothing and make-up...

...well, let's just say she's been trying to work out why Pi is hanging in the front room. Although knowing the people she lives with, this probably makes absolutely perfect sense to someone.

That someone will take her mildly by surprise; she had received Nanami's text, but the occasion had slipped her mind because she...didn't really have any solid intention of actually going, so she'd discarded the thought. Looks like she's stuck here, then, and without a present. How awfully rude...]

...I believe I did say I wanted to play one with you.

[While it would be so much easier to just return to her room, there's a part of Celes that wants to stay and interact with her classmates and housemates, a part that craves company and...'friendship', and all those other uncomfortable things. It's a part of her that is unfamiliar, and frustrating, and it's been creeping up on her more and more, lately.

...she'll deal with it later. For now, it would be best to actually speak to the host.]

I'm sure these are somewhat less...intense than what we spoke about on Valentine's Day, however...it has been a long time since I've played a board game...

[Monopoly is always fun...]

[ Do we want to go there...Monopoly with the Dangans. Someone's bound to die...but Nanami nods briefly to the idea of board games, even as she offers Celes a smile as she comes down to the main room. ]
