You know what's better than a regular birthday? The birthday of a circus.




Throughout the streets of Goldenrod, folks will find all sorts of colorful characters and Pokemon about. Fliers and the like have been regular eve since the Circus started up a year ago, but the advertising is in full force today just to make it EXTRA apparent that today is the day. Another hint is all the air traffic in the skies- various Flying-type Pokemon that make up the Circus' transportation service. Who knows? Maybe you're one of those using it today!

And of course, who can miss the colorful spectacle that is the circus itself? Past the entrance gate (which will let you onto the circus grounds for a miniscule fee) are dozens and dozens of stalls and little tents. Looming over them is the main tent itself, a monstrosity of bright welcoming colors. There are all sorts of things amongst their ranks, but it's generally fairly easy to find what you're looking for as Pidgey of a feather flock together and all that... From games of all sorts like the usual carnival games to more of a retro arcade, to a set of shops with local crafts and maybe something from the foreign trainers.... Of course, there's also all sorts of food stalls and even shacks for more filling stuff.

There's even a Litleo hunt going on today! Catch one, win a prize!

With all that alone, you could probably keep busy for most of the day! But surely you aren't forgetting the Big Act?

Yep, the big acts in the Big Top. Times are posted both at the front gate, on fliers you can pick up here and there, and by the entrance to the large tent. For each day, there will be three shows! Better hope you can snag a ticket before they get sold out... Although maybe you'll get lucky for the next show. Or the next day....

Either way, it promises to be a fun weekend!

Morty, huh? I'll have to see if I can. I would like to know more about the town itself, but ghost types are very interesting, too.

[And of course someone who specialized in them would know a lot about them, right?]

At that, Invidia gives a particularly energetic nod. "He left everything to the rest of us today, because he's been cooking all day. He said it was important that everything went well... Because everyone here is important."

There's a slight pause, the Zoroark worrying a bit before saying anything. "He said he wouldn't have been allowed to do this sort of thing back where he's from."

[pipers_son]

[There just might be!]

[Because when Molly lifts up the fabric, turns out it was just a Litleo-shaped toy! But from behind her comes the sound of cat-like sniggering, and there's an actual Litleo peering out from beneath another stall with his tail rapidly going back and forth gleefully.]

[pipers_son]

Bein' forced ta sleep, I suppose!

[Laughing a little, he manages to free his hand and grabs Will's, getting up to his feet.]

On time, just like I figured ya would be!

[shatterings]

[ ... She gets the idea, definitely. Ilya can be pretty imposing. ]

I'm sure they have no issues listening to you, though...?

[death_glare]

[ He looks around the tent. ]

Seems I'm the only one to arrive on time.

[ He frowns, but for another reason. ]

Did I not just see you over in the main tent?

That's still really weird.

[Rise used STERN GLARE! ...It's uneffective!]

[With not angry little other Poke-cat to bother her, Dovre the Litleo gives a huff and curls up again. I don't care about him either! seems to be the message here.]

[dangerousidol]

[Since this little cat is a fire type, Rise has an idea. She looks around and tries to see if a certain Pokémon of hers had indeed followed her.]

Ahiru! You can come out now! I know you're there!

[It takes a moment, but in swoops a Swanna with a wad of cotton candy in her bill. She was snacking, darn it!

Rise looks at Dovre again.]

If you don't give me the ribbon, I'll have Ahiru here soak you like the bad cat you are!

[Ahiru likes to fight. She gobbled the treat up and puffs out her chest. Come at me, bro!]

Envy's been seated right near Wrath, because of course he has because his boss is actually the devil. As if that wasn't already made clear by two of the presents he'd given Envy earlier (he has to admit though, he does like the mask).

And being annoyed at Wrath and his giant Ditto plush is a very nice way to distract himself from thinking about other things, just like the rest of this weekend has been.

But he doesn't want to start something and get in trouble with Joker, who clearly likes Wrath.

For the moment, he's settling for alternately pointedly ignoring Wrath, and GLOWERING IN HIS DIRECTION.

Envy's barely sat down between shows, just continuing to go all over the place and look for things to keep himself occupied. Between that and the shows themselves, it's easy not to really think about anything.

But by the second day, he's starting to look a little worn, at least to anyone who knows him well. He thinks it's well hidden, though, so when he sees Lust on his way across the room he pauses to talk. He even grins, even if it's more automatic than genuine.

"Hey, I think we're a hit so far."

[samsa]

[Hide sure seems excited by their victory while his trainer just holds his hands to his face as BB runs away. WELL THAT...HAPPENED...

He's just going to go clean up his battle scars now.]

Chihiro is all smiles up until the last thing Invidia says. It causes him to falter for just a moment, bringing his hands up to clutch at the bag slung over his shoulder.

"Really? ...do you know why that is?"

[pipers_son]

[At that, Joker's grin gets downright sly.]

Did ya~?

Yes, I am certain I did.

[ Giving you a suspicious look back. ]

[walkersystem]

<sub>[Molly happily shakes Steve's hand, but it's not a gesture Ember recognises, so she just sits down and lets her tongue loll out a bit in a shy dog smile.]

[She's clearly caught off guard by the question though, and frowns in thought.]</sub>

I don't think so ... why?

Are you scared of clowns?

_{[That's not malicious in any way, she just doesn't see why else he'd ask and look worried.]}

_{[WELL YOU KNOW WHAT. She's gonna pick up that toy and put it in her jacket pocket for now, to either return to Joker or whoever else might've lost it, and then she just laughs and goes straight for the real Litleo when she spots him.]}

[The appearance of the Swanna is enough to have Dovre give a yowl and bolt, leaping off the table to book it.]

"You're telling me! He worked his ass off for this. He's a hell of a guy." Joker deserved to sleep for a week, as far as Jimmy was concerned, after pulling all of this off.

"Good, thanks! Got a job loading and sorting stock. It's boring and repetitive and exactly what I wanted."

He was due for some boring normalcy in his life by now.

Lust is glad that Envy's been able to throw himself into the show. She imagines that having something to do, and something that requires such attention and focus, helps his mind. Not to mention it keeps him in the company of friends and kin.

"I'll say."

She tosses him a bottle of mineral water. "I've never been applauded like that before. it's something of a rush, isn't it?"

"That's always an improvement. Were you shot at often, in your homeworld?"

It doesn't seem an unreasonable question to Lust - he mentioned it, and she's certainly no stranger to being shot. or stabbed. Or any other manner of violently damaged.

[The problem with Ahiru is that she has a bad habit of chasing things. So off she goes after Dovre. SWANNA COMING AT YOU. BETTER RUN FASTER.

Rise just stands there and stares for a while.]

I should... go stop here.... right?

[Nanako just shrugs and waddles after the running critters. RIse soon follows.]

"Oh." Yes, that made much more sense. He's never had them himself, but he's heard of them. "What did you learn, asks John?"

[Asami nearly pipes up that the "Miss" isn't necessary, but... it's not worth it.]

I'm mostly just looking around. Korra ran off... something about winning me a stuffed Riolu. Did you go to the show?

The animated teddy bear obliged, followed quickly by Miriam and taking another leap at Guttle.

"It is another way the body rids itself of waste." This was one of those times when Scar wasn't sure if Lust was complaining or honestly curious.
