You know what's better than a regular birthday? The birthday of a circus.




Throughout the streets of Goldenrod, folks will find all sorts of colorful characters and Pokemon about. Fliers and the like have been regular eve since the Circus started up a year ago, but the advertising is in full force today just to make it EXTRA apparent that today is the day. Another hint is all the air traffic in the skies- various Flying-type Pokemon that make up the Circus' transportation service. Who knows? Maybe you're one of those using it today!

And of course, who can miss the colorful spectacle that is the circus itself? Past the entrance gate (which will let you onto the circus grounds for a miniscule fee) are dozens and dozens of stalls and little tents. Looming over them is the main tent itself, a monstrosity of bright welcoming colors. There are all sorts of things amongst their ranks, but it's generally fairly easy to find what you're looking for as Pidgey of a feather flock together and all that... From games of all sorts like the usual carnival games to more of a retro arcade, to a set of shops with local crafts and maybe something from the foreign trainers.... Of course, there's also all sorts of food stalls and even shacks for more filling stuff.

There's even a Litleo hunt going on today! Catch one, win a prize!

With all that alone, you could probably keep busy for most of the day! But surely you aren't forgetting the Big Act?

Yep, the big acts in the Big Top. Times are posted both at the front gate, on fliers you can pick up here and there, and by the entrance to the large tent. For each day, there will be three shows! Better hope you can snag a ticket before they get sold out... Although maybe you'll get lucky for the next show. Or the next day....

Either way, it promises to be a fun weekend!

"Thank you! says Letitia, says Quincey." The shiny feebas bounces a bit, excited.

[dangerousidol]

"Though... I've seen a Feebas. You're a lot cuter than the plain colored ones. You're a shiny?"

Snake shrugs. He's never seen another feebas, so he doesn't know the difference. "We got him mysteriously on Christmas, says Zola."

[dangerousidol]

She gets out her Gear and shows Snake on the Dex. It's much duller looking in the greyish brown. "This is what they're supposed to look like... and I've heard that before. A few of my friends mentioned something about getting shiny Pokemon on Christmas."

[Asami raises her eyebrows questioningly for a moment at Maka's reaction, but drops it.]

Oh, I remember when that went around. It's kind of a weird concept. We don't have things like that, at home.

[No shit, Asami, you don't even have the internet.]

But I'm glad you found a use for it, even if you're not looking to date anyone.

"Perhaps for someone who has never had to manage it, before. Be grateful you aren't a teenager, that is when it is truly miserable."

There was almost a note of amusement in Scar's voice. It was amazing, how many little things irritated her even after all this time.

Snake is a bit surprised at this, but pets Letitia gently. "You're special without being shiny, says Zola."

Nah, it's cool!

"Well aren't you a quick little bugger?" His hand ruffles Wrath's hair fondly even as he says it. It's true, after all. For all that he seems oblivious to some social graces or common sense, he's rather observant.

"Invidia mighta done a few things, that's right. So when ya see 'im next, be sure ta let him know he did a good job, alright?"

"Yeah~ Every Pokémon is special... even the ones that scare me," she says the last part quietly. There's quite a few that outright scare her, most of them being ghost types. "Oh! I brought Jin with me!" She carefully takes the sleeping shiny Eevee out of her bag. "He hasn't left my side at all. He's been eating more, too."

Snake is surprised by how pretty and silvery the eevee's coat is. "Cute," he mutters. One of the two Sevipers slithers over to see and smell the sleeping pokèmon better.

Wrath tilts his head curiously, kicking his legs.

"Were people mean where you came from, too?"

Snake seemed like a quiet fellow. Quiet and kind. Wrath wasn't always the brightest crayon in the box, but one thing he'd noticed about the people here-- the ones who were NICE-- was that they'd all gotten the short end of the stick in SOME way or another.

Wrath giggles, incredibly pleased with himself, as the Ringmaster ruffles his hair. It's a gesture of affection that he's been slowly coming to really like. No one had ever done that with him before.

"I will! He's so talented. Jelly will be so impressed when I tell him about the show."

[silentscales]

Snake nods solemnly. "Yes, very, says Gaskell." He would go into more detail if Wrath asked, but he wasn't about to volunteer his past to someone who he barely knows, even if they were brothers.

Jin's ears wiggle and he stretches, yawning as he does. He blinks his eyes a few time before yawning again. When he notices the snakes, he lets out a terrified squeal, hiding back in the bag. "J-Jin!"

[Clover will get a firm shake back! Maka can be a little socially awkward, but hand-shaking is something she's very used to.]

Nice to meet you, too! It's always good to see another girl around here, seems like there's way more guys than should be humanly possible sometimes.

[For some people that's not a bad thing, but for Maka it's super exhausting.]

I live over in Olivine myself, I liked the atmosphere there and I gotta admit, I've always wanted to live by a beach.

I think we might, but it doesn't work on matches...uh, the way it did. I got matched up with someone in their 20s.

[And Maka is obviously not old enough to date someone in their twenties.]

It was lucky the person I was matched with wasn't a creep and I managed to find someone close to my own age as a friend there, I didn't even sign up for the stupid thing myself so that could have ended pretty badly.

"Well, he's been here just about as long as I have," Joker admits fondly. "He's had a lotta time ta practice." Leaning back on his hand and trying to ignore the continuous mauling of his pants leg, Joker smiles down at Wrath.

"Just like you and Jelly will."

[silentscales]

His snakes pull away a bit and try to assure the other pokèmon they won't hurt them. "We don't want to hurt you, says Ruskin."

Jin peeks out a few minutes later, ears twitching. Rise smiled and gently took him out. "See? They mean it. Besides, Nanako would protect you. Right?" Nanako patted Jin's head and nodded. "There. Not so scary now."

Wrath is a curious little guy, but the cruelty of others isn't necessarily something he wants or needs to seek out details on. He's seen and committed plenty himself.

So he just nods, with that kind of exaggerated solemnness that only the very young can achieve.

"Humans don't like things that are different. They probably never will."

[silentscales]

A servine walks closer and waves to Jin. He calls himself the leader of the rest of Snake's pokèmon, though several of his pokèmon just laugh at that.

"What kind of pokèmon is he, asks Zola?"

[silentscales]

"You're right, but as long as people who are different don't hate each other, there is room for us in this world, says John." He nods a bit with his answer, knowing that there are people like Joker who can bring all different people together.

[dangerousidol]

Rise smiles and pet Jin, who cautiously watches the Servine. "He's an Eevee. Soon he'll be a Glaceon. That's the Pokémon he wants to evolve into, since he's jealous of Chiisai and Himiko being evolved."

[silentscales]

"I've never seen one before, says Zola." Snake pets her on her head and Zola lets out a harmless puff of snow and cold in her enjoyment of the head-pets.

[dangerousidol]

She pushes some buttons in her Dex and shows Zola a Glaceon. "It's an ice-type. So you'd be weak against him. But don't worry, I would never use my Pokémon to hurt a friend's Pokémon. Unless it was for training. He's actually really sweet once he get to know you. Right, Jin?" Twitching his ears, Jin lets out a soft squeak in agreement.
