8th Act - Happy Anniversary, Eve's Garden Circus!

You know what's better than a regular birthday? The birthday of a circus.




Throughout the streets of Goldenrod, folks will find all sorts of colorful characters and Pokemon about. Fliers and the like have been regular eve since the Circus started up a year ago, but the advertising is in full force today just to make it EXTRA apparent that today is the day. Another hint is all the air traffic in the skies- various Flying-type Pokemon that make up the Circus' transportation service. Who knows? Maybe you're one of those using it today!

And of course, who can miss the colorful spectacle that is the circus itself? Past the entrance gate (which will let you onto the circus grounds for a miniscule fee) are dozens and dozens of stalls and little tents. Looming over them is the main tent itself, a monstrosity of bright welcoming colors. There are all sorts of things amongst their ranks, but it's generally fairly easy to find what you're looking for as Pidgey of a feather flock together and all that... From games of all sorts like the usual carnival games to more of a retro arcade, to a set of shops with local crafts and maybe something from the foreign trainers.... Of course, there's also all sorts of food stalls and even shacks for more filling stuff.

There's even a Litleo hunt going on today! Catch one, win a prize!

With all that alone, you could probably keep busy for most of the day! But surely you aren't forgetting the Big Act?

Yep, the big acts in the Big Top. Times are posted both at the front gate, on fliers you can pick up here and there, and by the entrance to the large tent. For each day, there will be three shows! Better hope you can snag a ticket before they get sold out... Although maybe you'll get lucky for the next show. Or the next day....

Either way, it promises to be a fun weekend!

Around forty or so, right now. The circus show should be able to give me more.

[samsa]

That's pretty impressive, already.

[Like capturing them, just...with her camera instead.]

It's a good excuse to travel, if you plan to.

I'm probably going to travel all over both regions, once I've settled in a bit more and my strongest Pokémon isn't at level ten.

[ She'd rather not get her team wiped, thnx. ]

[samsa]

I'm interested in going to Kanto one day, myself...but I should probably actually travel to a different town here before I try that. I've been in Goldenrod for several months now.

[shuttermouse]

...Why are you still here? [ why would you even stay that long jfc ]

[samsa]

There's a bookstore not far from where I've been staying that I work at. I thought it would be a good idea to have at least a bit of money on me before I tried going anywhere else.

[And he's...not the greatest at battling yet, so he's not sure if he could have relied on that for food money.]

[shuttermouse]

You could ask Tsukiyama-kun for money. [ He may not be completely loaded with money here but she's pretty sure he would be happy to shove $$$ in Kaneki's direction. ]

[samsa]

I guess...but I'm not sure if I would feel right, doing that.

[He knows perfectly well that Tsukiyama would just toss money his way if he so much as mentioned it in passing that it was something he needed, but he'd at least make the attempt to make some sort of his own living first.]

[shuttermouse]

Why? He wouldn't say no to you.

[samsa]

Well yeah, but...I wouldn't just ask for money unless I really needed it, I guess.

[shuttermouse]

Okay. [ She'll leave it at that, then; she's not here to convince Kaneki that he totally should tell Tsukiyama to give him money.

Caressing her camera, she stands up and turns her head to look at Pokémon that are on the grass. The Zweilous looks particularly interesting. ]

I'm going to take pictures of them.

[samsa]

[That causes him to tense a little, looking over at where Angmar still seems to be...arguing with himself, or something to that affect.]

Alright...be careful with Angmar, though. He- ...they bite.

[shuttermouse]

...They look like they have a Beatles haircut.

[ Not deterred in the slightest, she slowly moves closer to the dragon. ]

[samsa]

....they sortof do.

[Wow, how didn't he notice that.

Meanwhile, one of the heads hears her movement in the grass and it causes him to look up from where he'd been trying to push the other away from the food bowl. He looks Chie's way, but it's clear he can't actually see her at all.]

[shuttermouse]

[ That prompts her to stop, staying completely still to watch the head as it looks in her direction. ]

[samsa]

[Kaneki watches as the Zweilous remains still for a moment, the little wing-things on his back twitching. It's only when the other head starts trying to eat again that the second turns away with a snarl, snapping at the first head to try and get to the bowl first.]

[shuttermouse]

[ And when the two heads start fighting again, Chie crouches down with her camera in hand to carefully compose the shot in the viewfinder. After a moment, she presses the shutter release with a click. ]

[samsa]

[It's not the flash that gets their attention, but the sound of the click so close by. Both of them look up and around to try and locate the source of the noise.

Back at the picnic table Kaneki sighs, putting his head in his hand.]

How does it look?

[He can't imagine it's...terribly clear, since they wouldn't stop moving.]

[shuttermouse]

[ Chie stands up and walks away as quietly as possible, returning to the picnic table and holds her camera so Kaneki can take a look. It actually turned out decent, all things considered. ]

[samsa]

Not bad. You really do have a knack for that.

[shuttermouse]

It's what I do for a living. [ So it's only natural she's good at it. ]

When I'm not selling information, that is.

[samsa]

Right. I suppose you would have to be good at it, wouldn't you?
