Who: Envy, Greed, Lust, Heather Mason, Henry Townshend, Alphonse Elric, Scar, Rin Okumura, Yukio Okumura Where: Olivine Beach When: July 31st Summary: By day, a fun vacation at the ocean. By night, BEACH EPISODE 2: TOTAL DRAMA BEACH. Rating: PG-13 Log:
[What she's telling him happened is something that hits way too close to home, on top of everything else. And his anger at Scar is only growing stronger by the second. How DARE he do this to her, hurt her like this when she was only trying to do what she thought was right.]
He shouldn't hate you for not wanting to hurt him.
[Envy says this EMPHATICALLY. And he only hesitates for a second before going ahead and putting his arms around her, pulling her closer. He may not normally be a huggy person, but he's picked up from Heather that this is a comforting thing and his little sister needs comfort.]
What did he say to you?
[Did Scar actually say out loud that he hated her HE'D BETTER NOT HAVE.]
Yes it was! He said it, too! How could there ever be an 'us'?
[Their past was nothing but blood and death and lies and hate. What could love possibly do against all of that? Especially the love of something like her. It just wasn't enough.]
[Some of his anger at Scar shows through in his voice there, but he keeps most of it to himself. He gets the feeling that it would only upset her more.]
[Something in his chest clenches painfully for her. Isn't that what he had said, after France had left? But this was different; France had disappeared outside of his control, with their relationship still intact. Scar, on the other hand...Scar has gone and actively rejected her.]
...you have to keep going, that's all you can do. But you won't be alone.
[Envy gives up on arguing that point with her for now, as much as he hates that she's blaming herself for this. She's drunk, she's stubborn, it'd be better to wait until she's sober.]
I know, I know. It's worse than anything. You'll get through it, you will. We'll help you.
[He finally pulls back out of the embrace, at least enough to look at her properly. But he keeps an arm loosely around her shoulders. Contact is important.]
[She just wants to somehow deaden this awful gaping misery. How can she possibly get through this? It seems an impossible thing right now. There's nothing but the pain and loss. There's no solace or comfort to be found in anything.]
I'll stay here with you, go ahead and have some more.
[IT'S, UH. Not the most healthy of coping mechanisms. But it's one that Envy's used for himself before, and he'll make sure she doesn't poison herself.]
[She fumbles for her half finished drink. She doesn't even know what she's drinking anymore - it's stronger than wine, though. Wine isn't enough right now.]
Thank you.
[For staying with her. For coming to find her. For not telling her to stop drinking and come back to the hotel.]

[Lust sinks into the embrace, limp and shaking. She can't seem to stop shaking.]
It was stupid to think we could ever be anything good.

It wasn't stupid, it wasn't. You're not stupid. You couldn't have known he'd do this.
Everyone keeps secrets, it's not your fault.

[That was one of the worst parts. She can't even fault him for his actions.]
It hurts so much. How can anything hurt like this?

'M sorry I ruined our night.

[He shakes his head.]
Nah, don't be sorry for that. Besides, if it wasn't this, it would've been me and Al.
