Summary: The world has been pretty good to the various monsters and serial killers hailing from Amestris, but one particular villainous wild child has yet to be rehabilitated.
Rating: PG-13 for talk of abuse, manipulation, brainwashing, all that good stuff.

[Relief shows clear on Al's face and he beckons Wrath to come inside. He can cook up a few grilled cheese sandwiches for them both, with tomato soup to go with it. Wrath must be pretty chilled!]

Did they? That's good to hear! C'mon, I'll make something for us to eat.

[Beryl the Eevee peeks around the corner, then chirps and comes bounding over to run around Wrath's feet. Come play, come play!]

_{[Wrath perks up automatically at the mention of food. ALL of Shark House had learned during that two-month period that treats were the quickest way to earn Wrath's trust.]}

_{[He steps gingerly inside, almost as though expecting something awful to happen-- but then the Eevee appears, and Wrath immediately bends down to pat him. He likes Eevees! He likes them a lot.]}

[Al notices Beryl and laughs as he heads into the kitchen, trusting that they'll follow him in due time.]

[Beryl chirrups again and leans up into Wrath's hand. Ah, yes; play is best but pettings are nice, too! After a moment, though, he bounces up to climb onto Wrath's shoulder and sniff curiously in his hair. There are so many smells in there!]

[Beryl, NO]

_{[A gasp and a squeak ensue when the Eevee leaps up, but fortunately the little fox doesn't need to worry about any violence. Instead Wrath just hunches his shoulders, twisting his neck a little to escape from the Eevee's cold, curious nose.]}

[Beryl chirps again, pulling back from Wrath with his nose but instead gently tapping his cheek with his paw. What wrong, friend?]

--Elric, your Pokemon is touching my face.

<sub>[He doesn't sound upset by this-- it's a purely observant statement.]

[Moving carefully to avoid throwing off the Eevee's balance, he slowly moves after the older boy. He wants to see what's cooking.]</sub>

[Beryl pulls his paw back and tilts his head in confusion, and Al laughs from the kitchen.]

Beryl does that a lot! Come on in here, I've got the soup heating up already.

_{[He follows Al into the kitchen, still taking ginger steps to avoid dislodging the Eevee.]}

I've seen soup.

It's hot water with plant matter in it. Right?

[Beryl is quite used to shoulder rides, so he won't be dislodges all that easily. Al laughs and turns around from putting some grilled cheese sandwiches on the press--god bless Lust for finding that thing.]

Close! Soup can have meat in it, too, and the broth is made by boiling either bones and meat or veggies to pull the proteins and other nutrients out. It makes it a little thicker and adds flavor.

[He gestures for Wrath to come over and look, lifting the lid from the pot. It's basically straight out of the can, but Al did add a few spices for flavor.] This soup is basically liquified tomato, though.

Oh. That makes sense.

<sub>[It's easy to explain things to Wrath with chemistry. Chemistry makes a whole lot more sense to a Homunculus than most other things.]

[Hesitantly, he edges up beside Al, grabbing the edge of the counter and watching the sandwiches go onto the press. His nose is twitching like a dog's-- he is not even remotely subtle about investigating things via smell.]</sub>

I saw soup before where my new team is, but I was never thirsty so I never tried it. I thought it was a drink.

[Al doesn't even bat an eye; he's so used to Wrath's oddities by now that it would be more notable if he didn't act like an animal half the time.]

Nope, it's a meal! Sometimes when you're sick a thinner soup with less solid things in it is easier on your stomach, but there's plenty in a soup to fill you up.

[Beryl leans forward a little to sniff as well, and Al chuckles before reaching to give the Eevee a little scratch between the ears.]

As soon as the sandwiches are done toasting, so just a bit longer. Go wash your hands and I'll get it all ready for you. You want anything to drink?
