Summary: Chie insulted Micchy's sweaters. Clearly, this means she has to pay.

[Micchy has been in a foul mood for a while. It wasn't the sweater, really. It wasn't the rain, though sleeping in it was awful and he's going to need to wash his clothes again and he'd had to write reports sitting under a tree and it was horrible.]

[It wasn't even really anything anyone had done, it was the fact that his foul mood has been getting worse and worse and really, he needed an excuse to take it out on someone. Which is how he's arrived in Violet City, sitting in the Pokemon Center and texting Chie to meet him there. They can battle outside, but at least he can dry off a little and switch his team around.]

[ Chie doesn't get why anyone would make such a big deal over a sweater of all things but hey, it's his own decision to travel in the rain for five days just so he can battle her. And it's not like she has anything better to do, so she's not going to say no.

When she retrieves the text message she responds with a short "okay" before grabbing her jacket and heading over to the Pokémon Center. She spots Micchy almost as soon as she walks through the door, and after shaking some of the rain out of her hair she approaches him. ]

[He's at least managed to get himself damp rather than soaking, and his umbrella has mostly been sorted out with the assistance of a Nurse Joy (the thing had been sticking for two days and it's finally managed to get closed). He pulls himself up to his full height and nods at her.]

Do you want to do a full six on six, or three on three? You can swap out your Pokemon before we head out to start.

[shuttermouse]

Three on three's fine.

[ She heads over to the PC, taking a moment to decide on the Pokémon she's going to use; it won't take long at all, maybe a minute or two at the most.

C'mon, let's go outside and do this thing. ]

[grapeeater]

Fine.

[He walks outside with her, opening up his umbrella and walking with her until they find a clear spot. It's not hard, considering that people are heading inside from the rain, and he mentally reviews his team. Right.]

You can switch whenever you want. I'll pick first, since I challenged you.

[And it'll give her a chance to see what he picked so she can counter it. Not that he intends to lose. He pulls out a Pokeball, and tosses it in the air.]

Yuudai, you're up first.

[The shiny Greninja appears in a flash of light, black skin glistening in the rain as he crouches in a ready position.]

[ Chie looks at the Greninja in awe because it looks so cool, and instead of grabbing one of her Pokéballs she reaches for her camera and holds it up in front of her, framing the frog in the viewfinder before snapping a picture.

...Priorities, man. ]

[grapeeater]

[... Seriously? He just raises his eyebrows, and Yuudai tilts his head. What's going on? He looks back at Micchy, who shrugs.]

[ After checking the resulting picture on the screen and deciding that she's satisfied with it, Chie lowers her camera and unclips a Pokéball from her belt. ]

Angénieux, go.

[ She tosses the ball in the air and a Servine emerges in a flash of bright light, landing gracefully on the ground. ]

[grapeeater]

[Oh, interesting. He considers it for a moment, before nodding. That cuts out Water type moves, but he still has plenty up his sleeve.]

Quick Attack.

[Yuudai darts forward to deliver a blow to the snakelike Pokemon before dashing backwards. Provided the Servine's level isn't close to 100, he should be able to tough out whatever he's hit with. His hit points aren't the greatest, but at least his speed is excellent.]

[shuttermouse]

[ The Servine is at around level 26 at the most, so that Quick Attack? It's going to knock out the poor snake immediately. Chie returns it to its Pokéball and then sends out her Pikachu instead. ]

Hazel, use Nuzzle.

[ The electric mouse dashes toward her opponent to paralyze him. ]

[Fortunately for her, the attack hits, and Yuudai yelps a little in pain, clearly moving much more slowly than before. Fortunately it doesn't look like he's fully paralyzed yet, but that could change easily.]

[Time to use types to his advantage. Greninja is Water/Dark, but that doesn't mean it doesn't know other moves.]

Smack Down.

[The froglike Pokemon picks up a nearby rock and tosses it at the Pikachu. ... And Micchy takes a moment to once again be weirded out that a move like that has an actual name.]

[ Hazel makes a valiant attempt at dodging the rock hurled at her, but the attack successfully connects and being the frail mouse with a poor defense stat she is, she's OHKO'd.

Chie points the empty Pokéball at her unconscious Pokémon, returning it and then sends out Yen, one of her Meowth. ]

[grapeeater]

[... He looks at the Meowth, and smiles slightly. Maybe he should switch out... yes.]

Come on back, Yuudai.

[The Greninja is recalled, and he pulls out another Pokeball.]

Aki, you're up.

[He sends out the Pachirisu, who twirls a bit and does a backflip. He knows she's at a disadvantage because it means Chie will get a hit in, but that's fine. Aki can take it.]

[ Chie reaches for her camera when Micchy pulls out another Pokéball, ready to photograph whatever comes out...

...It's a Pachirisu. She owns one of those, so this won't help her with her goal to snap a picture of all the different species. She lowers her camera without taking a picture. ]

Yen, use Slash.

[ Bringing out its claws, the cat quickly moves to attack its opponent. ]

[grapeeater]

[Aki yelps a little bit at the attack, hopping from side to side as she awaits Micchy's order. He considers his options, and then grins. Why prolong it?]

Super Fang.

[The Pachirisu races forward, opening her mouth wide as she goes to chomp down on the Meowth. Considering that the move cuts hit points in half, this shouldn't take long.]

[shuttermouse]

[ Yen lets out a long hiss when the attack hits, and it glares angrily at Aki. ]

Use Slash again.

[ And here comes the swift swipe of claws. ]

[grapeeater]

[Really? Aki takes it with another yelp and looks back to Micchy.]

Just use Swift.

[She turns and spits out several glowing stars at Yen.]

[shuttermouse]

[ ...And the cat is KO'd and falls to the ground. Congrats, Micchy, you walked five days in the rain for this. ]

[grapeeater]

[He did. And he thought it'd be more satisfying, but honestly... it's not. He just... sighs and returns Aki, hunching his shoulders a bit.]

... You haven't been training very long, have you?

[shuttermouse]

Nope! [ She walks over to her fainted cat and scoops it up in her arms. ]

I've only been here since May.

[grapeeater]

I see. I've been here for almost a year.

[That makes sense. ... He was way out of her league, huh.]
