Envy looks around the yard, tapping one claw against his chin.

"Hmm, I don't see any balls or mailpeople...ah, there's something you left off your list, though."

He turns back to her, starting to smirk.

"Because I do see a cat."

RUN, LUST.

"You brat!"

Lust's fur puffs up as she scrambles to her feet and took off, looking like some overgrown purple cheetah.

It wasn't as though there was anything else to do, and the part of her that was an animal took enjoyment from the chase. So she lets Envy chase her, making a beeline for the backyard fence.

She wonders if her claws were any good for climbing...

"Guilty!"

He gives her a moment's headstart, but after that he's after her in earnest. She was right about canines enjoying chasing cats, and for the moment he's just fine with giving over to playfulness. They could use it, with everything going on.

She'll find out about that fence soon enough, because he'll follow her there, trying to cut her off if she turns.

Lust's brilliant plan to scale the fence doesn't go quite as well as she'd hoped. She makes it halfway up, and then starts losing traction. In a panic, she braces and bounces herself off of it, tumbling over Envy and landing with a squeal behind him.

But she does land! On her feet, even. Maybe that old adage about cats and their landings is true.

She streaks toward the front of the house, knowing it's not going to take Envy long to turn around.
