Who: Dio Brando (
diosmio) and Peridot (
peridork)
Where: In the Rocket Base!
When: Somewhere during Misty Terrain weekend
Summary: Dio and Peridot pick the worst/best time to have a battle
Rating: Probably PG?
Log:
Dio really doesn't have plans for this Valentine's Day weekend. He could've filled out that survey, but he's not the type to rely on some ridiculous anonymous service to make connections for him. And it's not like without that he has any one to spend it with. Which is fine. He doesn't need to bogged down by silly things like that. Leave that for the idiotic saps of the world. They can have all their romance and love and have it used against them by someone smart enough to exploit it.
So his plans for the time being consisted of dropping off a mind numbingly boring report and returning to his quarters with a book, only to bump into that completely irritating person from before. One thing led to another and here they are about to battle in one of the unused training rooms.
Or at least that's what Dio had been figuring would happen, up until he opened the door and found some sort of sparkly pastel colored void where the room was. That's...not normal.
“What on earth?”
And then the effect decides to spill into the hallway, so it doesn't look like this is going to be easily solved by picking another room. They'll just have to deal with it until it goes away.
“After you...”
He'll offer the chance for his opponent to enter the shoujo landscape first because the hell if he, Dio's going to head into that mess first. Let someone else wander in there just in case it...he doesn't know, decides to eat people or is contagious or something.

"Amethyst!" She cries, watching as the poor thing topples over, KO'd. She glowers across the field at her opponent, teeth bared in a grimace. How was this even possible? And after she'd just done so well, too...
And of course, her only dark type Pokemon is knocked out already. Fantastic. She has a bug type she could counter with, but it's also part poison type which is no good... Her drifloon is basically untrained. So if a type advantage isn't possible, then...
"Clod! Get in there and hit that thing with your dark pulse!"
The elgyem, who has been spending the majority of this battle floating just behind Peridot in a dream-like state, meditating over the pink and the sparkles, suddenly does a 180 in its demeanor. Its eyes flash, it spins its way out onto the field and and sends a vicious dark type attack at the kadabra.

“Kadabra, come back for now!”
He'll recall it because wow, he's not running the risk of losing another Pokemon here today. The last thing he wants is this idiot to continue to make him look like a fool. So let's see. If that thing wants to fight using dark moves, then why shouldn't he respond in turn?
“Weavile, finish that thing off!”
As soon as it's done emerging from the Pokeball, Dio's level 37 Weavile's dashing forward, aiming to land a quick Night Slash on that Elgyem.

She snatches up another Pokeball, ready to release it. "Clod, get out of there! Mud, use bug bite!"
Peridot's beedrill enters the fray, wings humming as she darts forward and aims for the weavile, mandibles bared.

“Squash that bug with Payback, Weavile!”
There's more dramatic posturing from Dio as he gives the command. He's at a type disadvantage, but moving after a hit like that might boost Payback's power. Which probably won't result in a fun time for Beedrill. And if it doesn't, he's got a few more tricks up his sleeve. Or Weavile's sleeve anyway.

“Use Miracle Eye, then hit that stupid thing with a psybeam!”

Is it possible for Dio to look more arrogant? Because he's finding a way while continuing to sneer at Peridot and her Pokemon as Sneasel attempts to strike at Elgyem with...his other Pokemon or the power of the rest of Dio's team or however Beat Up works. But as confident as he is, it's not like Dio knows if he'll have Psybeam to still worry about after this.
