Causing problems makes you famous
Who: Mettaton (
ratingspoint); Undyne (
challengeaccepted)
Where: Violet City
When: February 25
Summary: So we've got a pair of people whose souls are literally made of love and compassion that mutually and absolutely want to hit each other with a chair. One of them has obtained a chair. This setup will be followed to its natural conclusion. It'll probably be dumb.
Rating: ...guess what, it's been years and I'm still bad at ratings. PG? PG13?
Log:
[It's a beautiful day. The Pidoves are singing, the sun is shining when it's not being overcast, it's finally no longer goddamn snowing, and it'd probably be a nice day for a game of catch assuming that you can tolerate 30-degree weather without freezing your face off. Naturally, this is going to be nice for about thirty seconds today, because Mettaton has been varying degrees of Really Angry At Undyne for the last two weeks and he's seriously not used to anger lasting this long. Flares of temper are one thing, but just kind of sitting around seething wasn't doing him any mental favors, and eventually...well, he'd had to do something about it.
The trek out to Violet, incidentally, hadn't been in pursuit of Undyne; he's out here for something else entirely, actually, something he'd felt the need to call due to inclement weather, both for his own sake and for Naki's. But in the meantime, he'd spoken to a few people, and he'd found out that Undyne is still in town, and...well. Well.
Well, it's not like he can just ignore that, now, can he.
He's been saying that he's more than willing to rough her up a little for the slight she'd thrown at him before, and he's got no doubt that she's likely just as annoyed with him as he is with her; given that Mettaton is something of a narcissistic douchebag that can't always process that everyone's thoughts are not his thoughts for some bizarre reason, this is all the justification he really needs to initiate something. He still fully intends to hit her with a goddamn chair - and so today, he is going to hit her with a goddamn chair.
...It might have been a good idea for him to call her out directly instead of just sort of assuming she'll come to him somehow, because waiting near the tower for her to just come by is a little boring, but you know what, that involves forethought and he's had worse. Alphys had him waiting in a far more confined space than this, after all, and at least the tower is providing a nice view and he's found one of those adorable little candles to screw around with while he waits, and when Undyne finally shows up as she's going about her business he does not waste any time in picking up the aforementioned goddamn chair that he's had by his side (...it's a lawn chair, which is both plastic and not at all ideal but you know what, it was what's available for purchase) and smacking her with it, because apparently, this is what he's decided to be today.
...He'll only hit her once, don't worry.]
Good afternoon, gorgeous; you really ought to work on that whole timeliness thing. This is...what, the second time you've kept me waiting?

It's hard, and plastic, and she's pretty sure she hears something crack when it hits, which would probably explain why it hurts so damn bad. But she can handle that! She can handle a little injury in some body part she's not even used to having. She can handle getting knocked over (and having her trio of buddies kind of just sidestep/flop out of the way, because they are not getting crushed today.)
It's the absolute flood that is coming out of her nose that actually alarms her for a moment, because she's pretty sure it's not supposed to be quite that much. Or maybe it is? Humans are freaking weird.]
What the hell was that for?
[Is this about that chat we had a couple of weeks ago, for god's sake she didn't even threaten to take anyone's soul, what's your problem-]
no subject
Oh, come on! I'm sure you can figure it out if you put your mind to it.
[...That's a lot of blood.]
...Hopefully while you finish leaking everywhere. I've got no idea if it's supposed to do that, but I'm sure you'll be fine.
no subject
GET OVER HERE!
[She's taking that chair he's holding and using it to yank him towards her, and once he's close, well. You don't want Undyne's arms around you, because that usually means you're getting suplexed.
RIGHT INTO THE SNOW.
...At least it's not into pavement?]
no subject
It's also a really good thing that it was into snow and not the pavement because that would have seriously ruined his day, thank you Undyne, as it stands it's going to take him a moment to register what just happened and why he's covered in snow and perhaps most importantly to actually get up because wow - ]
Really.
[if you're going to bring it then bring it but don't expect him to not kick you because if you try to get your arms around him again he's going to kick your damn kneecap out- ]
no subject
[She'll leave him alone for now. She's not out to break his face, unlike some people! Not naming any names or anything.]
no subject
If nothing else, that was an almost impressive amount of overkill.
[Mettaton, you just broke her face with no warning whatsoever, like an utter psychopath- ]
no subject
[...No seriously why the hell isn't it stopping, the leaks usually stop leaking pretty quickly-]
no subject
Somehow I doubt it's your entire face - I can't hit that hard while I'm like this, darling.

[...]
It sure does suck to be human though, doesn't it? It must be pretty freaking weird for Sir Rectangle.
[Buddy do you even breathe.]
no subject
[...]
They're just really light. And breakable. And easily winded. And don't get me started on how weird eating is.
[...]
Of course it sucks.
no subject
[Being human sucks.]
no subject
[And that's the explanation he's given often, because chilling food like that still weirds him out and he tries to avoid doing it as often as he can get away with.
He "forgets" a lot, is what we're saying.]
But really! Even if that's the case, they only warm up some of it, and that's repulsive. Who does that?
The ovens are surprisingly nice, though - the dial goes both ways, it's sort of sexy. We may need to incorporate that one.
no subject
[Undyne you just burned down your house before showing up in Pokéland, please locate some chill-]
no subject
I don't expect you to appreciate the finer points of electronics, darling, just trust me on this one.
no subject
[...But not television, apparently.]
no subject
[He is trying really hard to be nice to Alphys here. And look, last time we talked about television resulted in what he just did to your face, do we really want to talk about television.
...Although, uh, speaking of your face- ]
...Are you still bleeding over there, or has it finally started subsiding?
no subject
[This was a grey jacket.]
Hit me somewhere else next time, would you?
no subject
[No, seriously, ew.]
no subject
On the other hand, she's had one outfit that's acceptable in the snow for the past several weeks.]
Make sure it's something that looks cool and stays warm!
[He broke part of her face, she can call this even.]
no subject
[I mean, he was told to buy a coat and he purchased abominations, but you know what, they're warm abominations.]
Anyway. Hopefully you've already dealt with whatever suitor you were paired with on that dating...thing a while back.
You know. Before I broke your face. It'd be a shame otherwise.
no subject
[Because she could tell a story, but all the story she really needs is that damn name.]
I should thank you. But I should also punch you in the face, so you're getting neither.
no subject
[Seriously, as annoying as hell as he's apparently going to be about this, only good things can come from someone legitimately called Wreck-It Ralph.]
