A guys' night out

Who: [livejournal.com profile] itsthebutz & [livejournal.com profile] usedsuitup
Where: Violet City Café
When: Sometime on the evening of November 8th
Summary: Larry and Barney take some time to chill out at the cosplay café, checking out the girls and talking about life.
Rating: PG/PG-13ish? It's Larry and Barney, who knows what they're going to talk about.
Log:

Larry sighed as he stood at the entrance to the cafe, listening to the chatter and music coming from inside the café while he waited for his bud. It had been a long couple of days, so he was glad to just get together with someone and hopefully push all the bad thoughts to the back of his mind for at least a few hours.

At least, looking at cute girls in costumes had never failed him before...

"You bet I am," Barney grinned, perhaps one of the biggest grins he'd had since he got here. Man it felt good to be doing the stuff he normally did with a Bro. The trainer stuff was starting to get old.

He adjusted his tie, and walked through the open door. The place was certainly hopping with people. Not quite the same as a bar or a club, but it was close enough, and he'd take it. Especially with the costumes. Normally he didn't go for that kind of stuff, but it was starting to grow on him.

"Daddy's home," He said, glancing around.

"Nice choice," Barney grinned, looking her over. He had to commend the manager of the place. He'd done a good job. Barney nodded at a girl dressed as a Flareon and grinned.

"So, what do you want to do first? Get something to eat or chat someone up?"

He was up for either.

"Sure, sounds like a good idea," Barney replied. He wasn't too hungry, having had his fill of festival food. Nurse Joy had given him the day off to enjoy the festival, after Barney had agreed to a date the next day. He was starting to get the urge to leave Violet and continue on. As unappealing as that option was.

He found them a table near the window, but at the same time close enough to the action that they could still see everything that was going on. Barney took a seat and leaned back in the chair.

"Man, it's been a while since I've done this."

Barney honestly had to think about that. He didn't really have any plans as it stood right now. Ideally he wanted to go home. It was fun, sort of, being with pokemon and stuff, but New York was where he belonged.

"Haven't really thought about it. I mean, first plan that comes to mind is finding a way home, but I have no clue where to start with that. I guess, I just want to get to Goldenrod City, and then figure things out from there."

Goldenrod seemed to be the closest he'd be getting to home, so he figured that was a good place to aim for.

"What about you? You seem to know what you're doing here."

"Seriously bro? Hey, when you leave, you mind if I join up with you guys? I'm getting sick of this place to, and well, safety in numbers and all that," Barney asked. He really didn't want to travel alone again, especially if the journey involved woods and a cave. Camping was not his strong suit.

Plus he was a social guy. He liked being around people. And he needed to get away from the Joy here. He was starting to get the feeling that she thought they were in a relationship or something.

"This place is pretty much the game, right? So, if there's gyms, there's probably an 83% chance of there being an Elite Four," Barney nodded sagely.

"Awesome! Thanks Larry, that's a load off my mind."

It really was. Now he didn't have to worry about facing the wild outdoors all on his own. Not that he couldn't, after all, he had his pokemon with him. But still.

"No, I don't think I have. I sort of know of them from watching the pokegear, but I've never really talked to any of them."

At least, not that he could recall. "What are they like?"

[ooc: no worries.]
