[Kaito had spoken to Kay's Uncle Badd over the network a few times already, and for some reason, those few conversations already were leaving him a bit... apprehensive. Not because Badd was a detective (he was also Yatagarasu, according to Kay, and that in and of itself was admirable in his mind), and certainly not because Badd seemed like a bad guy (they had definitely gotten along the few times they had spoke). It was because... well.

Kay had been traveling practically non-stop with a band of four guys for the past five months. And Badd seemed like the overbearing parent type (much like Nakamori was back at home) and Kaito no idea what kind of questioning he was going to put them through.

To be honest, Kaito felt like he was about to be put through something akin to an interrogation. The only thing that eased his nerves was Johan's company; at least neither one of them would be alone. And he had to admit, meeting Kay's uncle would be an honor. Kay was one of Kaito's best friends, so it was only natural he meet her family in Johto.

With that in mind, Kaito trudged toward the Pokemon Center, the very spot he said he'd meet Kay's uncle, hands linked behind his head and Biz the Aipom perched snugly on his shoulder]

[With Kaito next to him, Johan felt pretty confident that this was going to go well. ... Of course, a Dragonite looming behind him along with a Nidoran in his arm helped that somewhat, but they weren't there so much for moral support as much as they were just out because they always were these days.

Johan shot Kaito a grin as he waited-- Most of his thoughts not anywhere near Kaito's. He really didn't see anything wrong with a girl being with so many boys, especially given how close they were. If he did, he'd have to wonder about poor Asuka and Rei, who'd been stuck with their group along with all the zombies...

... Well, it was a good thing he didn't wonder.

As for feeling nervous... Well, truthfully, Johan was, at least a little, but for completely different reasons than Kaito - two of them, in fact. He was about to meet an original member of the Yatagarasu, and he'd be lying if he didn't want to make a good impression.

That, and he'd promised to tell the man just what had happened to Kay, but that was going to happen eventually. At least it was coming from someone close to Kay.]

Did he say when he was going to be here?

[The sound of pattering feet comes closer to the two boys--Watson the eevee trots up to them and circles around cheerfully. He sits down on the ground in front of them and gives a soft "vui!" in greeting.]

Never mentioned a time, but it looks like we got here around the same time.

[Tyrell approaches them at a much slower pace than his pokemon, hands in the pockets of his battered coat. He would be lying if he wasn't eager to meet the two boys; they have information he wants and he will pry it out of them by the end of the meeting if he needs to. The kid Johan, at least, has promised to inform him--Tyrell intends to keep the boy to his word.]

[Kaito was just about to answer Johan when Badd's Eevee trotted up to them both, indicating the arrival of the very man they were coming to meet. With a few blinks, he lowers his hand from behind his head and lifts one to wave at Badd]

Oooi! [he's smiling, not a hint of his apprehension in his grin] Looks like we're finally meeting in person!

[Johan's Nidoran will quickly be hopping down to greet the Eevee, but the Dragonite makes no moves besides just watching curiously.]

It does, huh? [Johan will be cheerfully approaching Badd to offer him a friendly handshake.] You've already seen Kay and talked to her, right?

Well-- In any case, it's nice to meet you in person.

We'll see about that. [He frowns at Watson, who is being overly friendly with the boys, in his opinion. Then, he looks at Johan's offered hand, and after a second or ten, he takes it, making his grip unnecessarily tight]

She found me before I could finish sending the message. 'Course, I asked her to bring the two of you, but I should have known she wouldn't hear any of that.

[Dropping his hands back to his side, he frowns] So, talk. What's this I hear about Kay getting into trouble?

[... 'we'll see about that.' Kaito let out an awkward cough as he offered Kay's uncle his hand after he took Johan's]

Kay getting into trouble... [he was surely quick and to the point, wasn't he? Nevertheless, he had no plans to keep what had happened between Kay and Tarantulas from family. His gaze flickered from the intimidating newcomer toward Johan]

Er... 's kind of a long story.

Ehehe... [Nice grip you have t here, uncle badd.]

... [Johan nods, and catching Kaito's look, he looks over at him to explain.] Yeah, but he's probably going to hear about it from someone else given how big it was. Everyone knew about it. This way it can be from someone close. [he pauses] Still, before I tell you, can you promise you won't go to Kay about it afterwards? If she wants to tell you, she can, but until then she should at least be able to be with you without having that over you two.
