Woo, reunions!
Who:
used_slackoff,
usedroar ,
soggypastry , and
notjustsunshine
Where: Somewhere on Route 36/35
When: Sometime today!
Summary: Fang got beat up by a tree, so Vanille called the cavalry and Lightning rushed off to be the knight. And she picked upher boyfriend Leon on the way.
Rating: PG-13, as Fang may be a bit vulgar.
Log:
A yelp comes from Devil the Poochyena as he staggers backwards, having just been hit by a Male Nidoran's double-kick. The opposing pokémon is panting pretty hard, but then, so is Devil. Fang watches the battle with unease. Most of these wild pokémon are a bit of a higher level than Devil is, and she's already had to expend three of her four potions. Claw is out of the question; she's been completely unable to fight since the Sudowoodo OHKO'd her.
So this was bad. Devil looks at Fang in confusion as she sizes up the situation. Taking advantage of the moment, the Nidoran races towards the Poochyena, who braces himself. Making a split-second decision, Fang grabs a vacant pokéball and throws it, smacking the Nidoran right on the nose. It then pops open and sucks the pokémon inside. Jiggle. Jiggle. Jiggle. Ding. The obligatory 'You have caught a pokémon!' music plays, Fang raising an eyebrow at the sound as she leans down and scoops up the ball.
The Male Nidoran still seemed to have quite a bit of buck in him. And he was, she figured, about as strong as Claw, which was good. He could serve as another line of defense against the wild pokémon, and be a bit more apt at it than her Poochyena, considering the level. Said dark-type plops down on his butt, panting hard.
"Alright, take a break, Lobo," she says, returning the pokémon. She spares a glance at her shoulder, which had acted up when she threw the ball, but had been disregarded in the heat of the moment. A noise of discontentment escapes her as she looks over at Vanille.
"'Ey. You doin' alright ove' there?"

Fang! You caught it! [She jumps up and down]
[Well it's ON now. If Fang's caught another Pokemon that means she has to too. Even if fighting is pretty difficult with only one useable Pokemon.] I'll catch one too!
no subject
"You two seem to be doing fine."
I'm pretty lax on the posting order as long as everyone gets adequate time to respond.
"Jus' be ca'eful if ya do, okay? The pokémon around 'ere are pa'ticular pains in the ass."
That was when she heard a familiar voice and turned to see a pink-haired woman observing them. Giving a smirk, she strolls over to the other lazily, clapping a hand casually on her shoulder.
"'Ey, soldier. How's it goin'?"
Lightning got off easy because of all the current circumstances, although Fang had every intention of giving her hell when things in general had settled down.

Fang and Vanille seemed like the odd couple, one tall and dark and the other bright and petite. He figured they must balance each other out, perhaps like Aerith balanced him. He didn't say anything; it probably wouldn't be long before either one of them commented on his presence.
no subject
"Yup! It looks bad but it's not, right Fang?" Vanille smiles at the taller woman, fully expecting her to agree-Fang was stubborn of course, "and I'll be careful~ Me and Squishy can take on anything! ...Except for that tree..."
Vanille spots Leon standing there and waves, flashing a huge grin, "Hiya! Are you one of Lightning's friends? I'm Vanille and that's Fang! And this is Squishy and this is Choco." The Pokemon in question are a Tentacool and a Mareep, the 2nd one being held in Vanille's arms.
no subject
"Fang, sit down. I need to fix your shoulder before you completely wreck it." It doesn't seem to be dislocated, at least. So all it will require is bruise ointment and a big old bandage, same as her cheek. So while she pulls the needed supplies from her kit, Lightning looks around. It's quiet here. No sign of anyone, or of the woman coming to make the trade with Leon.
no subject
She then turns back to Lightning, shaking her head in turn, but obediently sitting down on a rock after spotting one the appropriate size. She then looks at Leon, lifting up a lazy arm-- her left one, in particular, that's not injured-- to wave at the man.
"'Ey. So you'e soldier's pa'tner, huh?" The smirk that comes to her face suggests that she might be teasing about something deeper between the relationship of the two, although she winces, bringing up a hand to gingerly touch her swollen cheek. "Ah, damn tree..."
no subject
As predicted, Vanille does take notice, and rushes up to present herself and her team. He gives both the Mareep and the Tentacool appraising looks. They both look healthy, that's for sure. He thinks of Flood, his Tentacruel, left in the PC back in Goldenrod; he might have liked the company of another one of his kind. Maybe they'll be able to meet, sometime.
"I'm Leon," he introduces himself, giving both women a nod. He continues, by way of explanation: "The tree can't be moved unless you have a specific spray bottle the gym leader Whitney hands out to those who defeat her."
no subject
"A special...spray bottle? Kind of weird!" she says even though she has every intention of using that information later.
"Don't you keep your Pokemon with you while you're walking around?" she looks on either side of him, leaning right then left before giving him a confused look. She would never keep hers in their Pokeballs-it would be way too lonely.
no subject
"And you didn't have to because I was on the way. But if this would be left untreated for too long, it could get bad." Or it would heal on its own. Medical tape, medical tape...ah, there it is. Holding the gauze against the injury, she tapes it down securely before moving on to check the cheek. This...needs icing down, first.
"Should have told you to ice your bruises with snow..."
no subject
For a moment, she looks up, listening to Vanille. To be honest, Fang really only kept out her pokémon because she had insisted. Not that it really made a difference to her. At Lightning's comment, she gives an amused snort.
"Vanille was a step ahead of ya." And were Lightning to touch it, she would notice that the swollen check was, in fact, even cooler than the rest of her body.
no subject
To Vanille's question, he reaches for the pokeballs at his belt
s."Odin gave us a lift here, so I had to keep them in their balls," he explains. He releases Skarmory first. She emerges with a raucous cry and a shake of her feathers, before hop-skipping to stand next to her trainer. Following her are the three puppies: Al, Lucky and Riolu. Lucky immediately goes over to inspect Vanille, while Al prefers Fang, still smelling like another Poochyena. Speaking of which, Leon turns to Fang, motioning to his bag:
"I have a few Potions for your pokemon, if you'd like."
no subject
She bends down to the Growlithe's level, waving her Mareep's paw, "hi! I'm Choco and this is my trainer Vanille! So cute~" she's reminded of Lobo. Lucky is...much cuter. Not that she'd ever say that out loud of course. She falls backwards onto her butt then holds out her hand to Lucky. "Let's be friends, okay?
no subject
"At least one of you two knew how to treat bruises." Honestly...that would be reason why Vanille had access to the healing spells instead of Fang. She knew what she was doing. Same as Light, when it came to basics like this. Smearing the cream onto a gauze pad and making sure she spread it, she gave Fang a look.
"Keep your mouth shut or you'll eat this stuff." And it didn't taste good at all, but Lightning didn't waste time on lightly slapping the bandage down. Tape, tape...there's the tape!
no subject
Realizing she was being talked to, she looks up at Leon, going, "Euh? ...oh, yeah, thanks." She nods, taking her other two pokéballs out of her pack (No, Lightning, she isn't going to make this easy for you). Looking at the one she knew her Meowth was in, she comments, "Unless ya gotta revive, though, Claw's gonna be outta commission fo' awhile." She looks at Leon. "Tree gave 'er a 'ard time, too... One hit, an' she was out cold."
And to Lightning: an amused chuckle and the words: "Take it easy, soldier." It's a good thing she's used to Lightning's grumpiness; otherwise, she probably wouldn't be so affable herself.
no subject
Leon is shuffling through his pack, pulling out a Revive--always useful to have--and a Super Potion; it would probably be more than enough for Fang's Devil. "I've heard that even though it's a tree, it's a rock-type as well, so it hits hard," he comments, tossing her the two items.
no subject
She halts her patting of Lucky to focus on Leon's words-it doesn't make much sense to her for it to be a rock type...Trees were...plants. "Fang's learned her lesson-no pouring water on rock trees," she says in response to the hitting hard comment. Then amends it with, "that she didn't know where Pokemon and would start fights with her." considering Fang was so grumpy before.
no subject
"Make sure she doesn't pick a fight with anymore trees. Can't promise I can fix her next time." There was the tiniest hint of teasing in her voice as she stood, bag over her shoulder. Time to head back and...deal with Hopes effects. This would be fun. Still, there was no point in moping around about it. Wouldn't make the walk go any faster, but standing ready to go would help her nerves. So she did, waiting for the other three to finish up their talk.
no subject
She looked at Vanille, snorting softly in amusement. "Why me? You've got pokéballs too, you know." She spared Lightning a glance as she rose, giving a nod and a small, "Thanks," of gratitude. Setting aside the Super Potion for now, she let out Claw, then took the Revive and, hesitating momentarily, sprayed the medicine on her. Like magic, the feline's eyes opened, and she looked up at Fang before giving a toothy yawn. With a small smirk, she commented, "Good to see you're feeling well again," and patted her on the head. She then got up herself, rolling her shoulders a neck a little and earning a few cracks and pops.
"So! To Goldenrod, then?"
no subject
Leon, for his part, was relieved to see the Revive taking effect. He was also examining the extent of Fang's bandages now that Lightning was done; the damage was extensive to the woman's face and torso. He had to take note of that and be cautious, otherwise he'd wind up in the same situation. He was pretty sure Suzuki wasn't the type to nurse anyone back to health.
"You should head back--I'm meeting someone here in a few hours," he informed them, pocketing his hands.
no subject
"! Wow! It really did make Claw all better!" she laughs at Fang, "oh I don't know, seems like you're the one with all the dog Pokemon~ I thought you might want to make a habit of it!"
She hops to her feet, "let's get going then! To Goldenrod!"
It sounds like a nice place so she can't say she's not excited; especially if they'll be able to be someplace warm. Everything is cold and her Pokemon will appreciate the feeling of a bed instead of the ground.
